Thanks Hannah, this is one of the most repeatable and approachable videos I've seen like this. I just re-opened my Etsy store and want to push for 100 designs!
I've watched a few of your videos Hannah and have to say I love your content! Just straight forward, simple, common sense concepts so keep up the good work!!
All such great ideas. I have a difficult time changing, adding, deleting, resizing elements changing colors, fonts etc. Are there any printable guides to explain all the functions? The steps as you do them in the video fly by too quickly. I appreciate the cross niching, sub niching reminder.
I don't know of any printable guides, but that would actually be a great idea for me to make! Kittl's own UA-cam channel has a bunch of awesome videos that walk through the functions too that might be helpful!
Great video! Kittl seems to have more designing capabilities than Canva and I love that they have text to image AI tools. Love your designs and ideas! The SEO part is what concerns me more rather than designs though!
It's crazy how fast you are wow. When I first watched this video I was like " Thanks now I can nail it faster". Then as a beginner i tried to do like you but I noticed the experience difference, that was a brutal awakening. 😂 The main issues is managing the shiny syndrom as a perfectionnist and knowing what to change at first sight to make it ours, unique and standing out. You are doing it so well here in a matter of seconds. I took 1 hour for my last design wtf. 😂 That's why I'm so impressed by you. But I still think I can do it and with consistency in quality. I need to try more your method without overthinking. Thks a lot!
You will totally get faster the more you do! And the power of editing is huge. If I make a big mistake while working on something, typically I’ll cut it out and start over for the sake of the video being more watchable.
Thanks so much! And, you will get so much quicker the more designs you make. Also, trust me you are seeing the best parts of my designing, there are many times I end up cutting out awkward sections of me staring at the screen or making crazy mistakes.
This is very inspiring. I've just found Kittl, but you make it look sooo easy. I noticed you change the pixel size, but not dpi. Do we not need to use 300DPI?
This was something I was confused on for a while too! If you are using the appropriate pixel size for your item, the resolution will be the same regardless of if you change the dpi. Juna from the channel Detour Shirts has an awesome explanation video on this.
Awesome ideas! I’m finding that the designing isn’t the hard/tedious part - it’s creating the mock-ups and doing the reps of uploading each listing over and over and over again. 😅
For any part you struggle with, uploading more will help you get better. With each new product you make you get better at every aspect of the research through upload process.
Now pair that with incorrect pictures and mockups popping into existence from the void that I did not upload or create or even knew existed popping onto my stores! Yeah pics and mockups are definitely the most challenging part…
How do I remove background from these templates? I am having trouble. I could remove background from my own but not what is picked from template page. Thank you for your great videos.
Hi Hannah, I make my designs in Canva, then download them as PNG with transparent background and then put them on shirts/sweaters etc. with Gelato. I recently found out Canva outputs images in RGB color space, while Gelato recommends sRGB color space. I don't want my colors to look different when printed versus what's on my screen. What's your take on this? What do you use personaly?
I haven’t had any issues with customer complaints with any designs I make on Canva, but I do put the disclaimer in my shops that colors may appear different printed than on mock-ups.
@@hannahebelingHi thanks for the content and I also have a similar question. Like your 1st design in the video is in black background but will the black color may have some difference with the color of actual product? Can you do transparent bg in kittl and have you tried it?
Thank you for amazing content! Perhaps my question is silly - but when crossing these niches, do you still search for low competition keywords before designing? Or does the cross niching works well by itself?
Not silly at all. I think it’s a great idea to do both! I also use lots of long tail keywords that someone might search for like: cute nurse shirt for Halloween or nurse shirt for boy mom.
Thank you so much. You make it look so easy to use Kittl, I get frustrated because is much difficult to use than Canva, did you take a specific training on how to use Kittl?
Hi Hannah. Thanks for all of your videos! You do a great job breaking stuff down and being transparent about your journey. Have you ever put a real life photo on any of the Printify or Printful products? For example a picture someone sent you of their dog. If so, which products did you use and how was the qualify? I haven't ran across any video from anyone showing real photos so I'm not sure if it's even possible with POD.
Honestly, I’m of the opinion that photos don’t translate very well to apparel or any fabric items, so I don’t sell them. They look better on things like posters and notebooks.
Good Morning ~ Great Info as usual 👍🏿 The bar under the *remove background* The *optimize quality * Do you use that? What is it ~ is it important? Thanks so much !
The optimize quality is just going to download the image a little higher quality, but it's not necessary for your designs on POD as long as they are the right size. It will take a couple seconds longer to download, but it doesn't hurt to do it either way.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am a new starter to open the Online shop to sell mug and T shirt. If I want to choose either Canva or Kittl. Which is better? Thank you
Such a fun video! And inspiring. Would love more like this. I noticed you resized your PNG but left it at 72 dpi. I always heard you need 300 dpi for print. Do I have that wrong? Thanks!
This was something I was confused on for a while too! If you are using the appropriate pixel size for your item, the resolution will be the same regardless of if you change the dpi. Juna from the channel Detour Shirts has an awesome explanation video on this.
It's that easy, but everytime I go to save it to move it to canva to put on my mockups it's always too big for canva? Any tips? I watch you daily and your the reason I finally got KITTL but I can't get em small enou to flip over?
So I'm curious this particular website that you are using kittl these are designs that we are allowed to just pick off of this website and put onto our t-shirts and then change what we want about them? I washed your last video about getting your first hundred designs up as soon as you can first I was thinking that would take forever doing them from scratch but now I see it's almost like purchasing designs to put on t-shirts but what happens if two people were to pick the same exact design off of this website?
Question: if someone else is selling the same words but everything is diff, does a store get blocked by Etsy? I am confused as a new seller. People can literally get the same ideas without having seen it, copied it, etc.
Hello Hannah, I need to know that should I have mix category of products (clothing, jewellery, wall art, digital printable etc...) or there should be specific category of products in one store. I have products like t-shirt in my etsy shop (just created the store) and I am adding sweatshirts and tanks now (mainly clothing items because my shop tag line is WEAR YOUR EMOTIONS). I have also made couple of design of jewellery (message card) of ShineOn but not yet added to store. So what do your suggest? Should the store be specific to the product categories? Thanks...
Hi Hanna, I notice that you are coming up with phrases on the fly. Shouldn't we check all our slogans to make sure they're copyright free before we start designing? Also, are Kittl graphics and fonts 100% copyright free? I know Canva's are not even on a paid plan. Thanks
Hello Hannah Please need your advise in 2 issues : 1 - my etsy store cant put option for buyers to pay by visa because my country not support etsy payment only I use paypal does that will affect my store negativly only paypal option I have for buyers . 2- What is the best shirt i list the short sleeve shirt or sweatshirt which one is better selling specially in these days if i want to make halloween ?
I believe if you set up through paypal, customers will still have the option to pay via credit card, just through the paypal system. I definitely sell the most t-shirts, but sweatshirts sell really well to this time of year. I would aim for a mix of both.
@@hannahebeling Thanks for reply really so happy I am you fan from Oman , So Now I need to consentrate on one gender which one better sell unisex or men or women shirts which gender get most sales ? really thanks for your time .
Hi Hannah, Great video. On Etsy, I see people using the same phrases on t shirts, for example, let's learn today is on the t shirts of many stores. Is that allowed as long as the design is different?
I'm not sure if that phrase exactly would be a good one or not, but you can certainly take inspiration anytime you see something selling well as long as you make it your own in some way.
My problem isn't the shirt designs my problem is the mock-ups how long it takes me to create a mock-up and the actual listing is the most time-consuming part of creating a listing....... And I think that's because I'm overthinking what needs to go into a listing rather than just pumping them out or copying them and pasting previous listings I'm trying to make each one unique I have 55 listings I just started in october, October 13th to be precise, and I have 43 unique tags so I think that is the thing that's really bothering me down to create listings quickly. Mockups can be such a bottleneck in the uploading process. I have found that having just a handful of mockups that I rotate through works great. I also used to try and make every listing unique, but the reality is, most people never visit your shop, they only see a single listing. I haven't had any complaints, but if you are very worried, there are many shops on Etsy that sell packs of mockups for most of the common brands.
