"When's the best time to plant a tree? Well, it was 10 years ago.". Amen! Been living on my property for 10 years wishing I had done all this back then. Don't want to be thinking the same thing 10 years from now. Great video, and thanks for the advice!
Early spring, use about 2ft long previous years growth, trim stick, leave at least one node on top an one under ground. Sandy soil is best, scrape one side of bottom stick, dip in rooting substrate and plant at least a third of stick. Has to be kept moist, must not dry out. This recipe gives me 85% success. Enjoy and plant away don't delay
Any rooting compound or you let cuttings sit in water smashed with willow branches. The cutting should be scraped lightly on bottom and have a few nubs on them.leave about a foot underground and keep moist. Spring is best. Good luck.
I’ve done something similar with 100% success rate although I’ve only tested it about 5 times. I learned this from my dad. Poplar and Willow trees love water. The area along the back of my property was low and so was often wet or moist. So, with permission from my neighbor, I cut a few branches off of his poplar tree and simply shoved them into the ground. Just pierced the ground with the branch. They all grew well. I believe it could work in dryer spots to, but you may have to water it like he would any transplant until I get started. In what areas though they just take off. Good luck!
This I’m sure did not work! Next time try to “air layer” or “stool layer” because this method here really only works with certain varieties and they were all too long for this method of propagation (should only have about 4 nodes) and then your substrate should have been sand and not soil as this I’m sure just rotted all those scions
If the suckers are coming straight out of the ground next to the main tree they have their own root system separate from the main tree. So you can actually dig those roots out and speed up the process by the rootstock cutting already having roots. Again assuming the suckers aren’t out of the base of the trunk
Your older videos are hillarious!, but I can't leave a comment on them. Any advice on getting rid of a cotton wood tree will help. Three gigantic branches have fallen on my home already, the tree is huge!
What's the ideal watering interval when you do cuttings in planted pots instead of water containers? In doing cutting research, I've found if they get too hot the cuttings have higher fail rates. Seems like if you could keep them under 76 degrees less of them would fail.
Some may survive but you need sand not soil. Then a rooting compound that you dip cuttings in then place in a pot of sand that is well drained. Put in plastic bag and wet it, close the bag. Shaded area. Check to see if it is wet. Then transfer after to soil in pot.
I saw some Oak Trees that have been cut off many times and dug in to get them. I put in water and planted them .😢 they died. Put one outside...same thing, died.
America, on the Eastern Seaboard, used to have a tremendous amount of Chestnut trees and Elm trees. A blight caused by invasive insects killed off many of both species of Chestnut and Elm trees. Why not replant these? Chestnut is a good source of furniture quality hardwood. Unsure about Elm. I would also replant Cherry trees for their furniture quality nature and cherries are also healthy in that they prevent strokes by lowering your ureic acid in your bloodstream. .
What is that product at the very end, honestly all of the products including the drip line. What do you use and can you create a affiliate link to send people to?
I WANTED TO COMMENT ON THE VIDEO HOW TO KILL A TREE WITHOUT ANYBODY KNOWING. HILARIOUSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! WHOD THOUGHT THERE WOULD EVEN BE A VIDEO LIKE THAT. LOL

Did it work? As in, did the trees grow?

I’m gonna guess they were rotting in 2 gallons of water per day.
Maybe not, need to wait about 3 months to find out
@@JS-jh4cy it's been 11 months.

It's nearly October now, can I start a branch growth now in the house and have ready for the spring?
The young boy nearly drowned them 😂
You should try buying a heat matt! A friend just recommended this to me and i just tried it last night. Fingers crossed
Any quick way to kill this aggressive palo verde tree I have in my yard?
Can you please share the link of your irrigation system device ?
Great video! Question about the water spigot, did you install yourself? If so, how to have the pump installed to push the water?
There is no pump to push water the city pumps it your house pressure is 40 psi to just over 100 in some places
Are you alive?
Are you in Utah? I think I recognize those mountains.
That doesnt work waste of time and tree
cool, thanks for the video! Gonna be doing this for some California Pepper trees
Did they grow?? Did it work?
Hi! I hope you keep making your vids. They are so helpful! Also I'm glad you don't block comments anymore. Looking forward to your next upload! 👍😁
People do this with plants at Home Depot and just return the plant after they got the piece they wanted.
Yes wanted to know how are tour trees doing did they grow

Will this work for bushes as well
@@Its_CharmCity Yes, I have done hundreds this way :) Any soil-less mix will do, I use pro-mix usually.

Would this work on red oaks?
You can't title a video "How to" like it's instructional when it's just you experimenting without showing any end result. These are probably all dead
Hi. I was wondering if this worked? I’m not finding any follow up. I’m going to do this but wanted to be sure it works 😊
That property is insanely beautiful! Can we be friends so I can come visit? Lol

best info is to identify your location, type of tree, and time of year with a it of care suggestions. any other verbiage is waste of viewers time. t

Does anybody know if Hawthorne can be graphed onto a mulberry tree? Can they be graphed in fall?
"Whens the best time to plant a tree? 10 years ago" lol...
Would work better with some rooting hormone on the shaved end. 👍🏿
Hey. Did you cut the extra limbs off?
No rooting hormone? Or humidity
Is that timp in the background?
Not Timp. Its not tall enough to be Timp. But it does look like it could be one of those areas around the Wasatch Front.
What do I look up to find that hose bib regulator thing??
So what happened?? :D
45° cut use honey or rooting powder
did it work? what was your success rate?
he forgot to water them 😬
Nope. Bunch of sticks.
Did they root?
did it work
Will this work with a cherry tree.
I wanted to ask does that Tordon work on killing Chinese elms 🌳? Can it just be put on the tree 🌲 trunks and kill it that way?
@Bradford Pear would that work on a conifer?
Nice video
Hey I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your UA-cam channel. Hope you keep up the great work and continue educating the populace on trees
