I think it’s safe to say that everyone loves a little pixie haircut transformation. You are going to love this fun before and after video of Kara's long-to-short haircut transformation.
A little about Kara’s transformation story, she had been wanting to cut her hair for 2 years until the perfect opportunity presented itself (Hurray for #pixieparade!). Kara’s hair is really, REALLY thick and extra straight so if you are wondering if you can pull off a pixie with your thick straight hair then you now know that the option is on the table. Because Kara’s hair was so thick I spent a lot of extra time (and I mean a lot) thinning out and texturizing her hair so that it would have some texture and movement. If you cut incredibly thick hair short and don’t texturize and thin it out then it will sit their on top of your head like a solid block of hair, or I like to refer to it as helmet hair. I Also recommend you use Paul Mitchel Super Skinny serum on damp hair for super thick hair because it helps to cut down drying time immensely and it will help tame the hair cuticle so it doesn’t get so big and out of control. You can have yourself a workable smooth hairstyle if you use the right techniques and products.

I adore this, i remember the first time i got my hair cut into a pixie crop. It was a massive plunge but i loved it, missing it so much now. I adore this cut on Kara and the way it brings out her bone structure and her eyes simply stand out so much now. p.s your hair is stunning, gorgeous cut and that colour is A-MA-zing!

It's longer than most pixies, and looks very like the one the hairstylist is rocking!! Mia Farrow, the original pixie, hers was a short blunt cut, that textured around her face. I have to admit that the original is the real pixie. This is just a short hairstyle close to the kind I used to have.
Bevanna kittykattqueen Yes the original Pixie cut has so many variations now. That short Mia Farrow cut was so beautiful on her delicate face. But that short cut isn't as popular. I think it's because most people are comfortable with the length. The longer Pixie is definitely here to stay and I'm so happy to be part of that trend. Thank you so much for following along. Oh WOW, cut my hair! lol I've wanted to cut my hair short for about eight years now, but I never do because I always got comments like "you'll look like a boy" "you know what that would say about it you" and other similar remarks. Then there's the pixie craze so I get the "you'll like it now, but immediately regret it when its not popular". Seeing this video though soothed a LOT of my worries. I mean sure I may not "have the right face" for it, and yeah I might regret it, but its just hair, it grows back. I think I'm ready to finally get this done and just hope for the best. Great job here, it looks fantastic.

I love this hair cut. It's so hard to find a stylist who is great at cutting short hair. It takes more skill to cut short hair. Mistakes can't be hidden. Every stylist want to cut the hair around my ears super short. Thanks

LOVE it. I have thin, curly, frizzy hair and I've always wanted to get a pixie cut. My hair is currently a little below my shoulders and it's really hard to manage.. I would totally trust you for a cut hahaha. You obviously do pixies and I feel like if I ever went to my stylist to get one, they wouldn't know what to do with my hair type and all. Also, my parents would totally freak and wouldn't approve at all.. Maybe one day when I'm grown and moved out I can:) I'm currently 17.
I'm going to do my research to see where I should go. I want to go to someone who is experienced! It is only hair though and hair grows back. So even if they did mess up, it would still go grow back so it's so biggie:)
That would be cool if I could cut your hair for you but I don't even actively do hair so when you need a trim you would be in the same boat of finding a stylist :( I DEFINITELY think you should research a good stylist by you (who specializes in short styles) then when you are ready to go for it you will already have someone you trust to go to! It's going to be so exciting for you!

Great Cut !! I took the "Pixie Plunge" a long time ago (so Glad I did), however, I cannot get anyone to understand that the back bottom of my hair Has to be much shorter, then work it's way up to give my crown some Umph !! Almost shearing the back...... Grrrrr so Frustrating......

+Real Skull I think that any fine or thin hair typically looks great in a pixie. Removing the weight from thin hair tends to give it a lot more life. I always recommend trying out a longer pixie style first, like Michele's here: bit.ly/1MmZSQJ, unless you are totally committed to a shorter style. Do you have a style in mind already?
i am thinking of something that will make my hair look bouncy and hide the scalp. I have super fine hair so i am scared about my scalp being visible if i get a pixie. I have a round chubby face and a big forehead . So i am looking forward to a professional's advice so that he/she can give me the haircut that will adapt to me.
Well, do your best to find a trusted stylist. Stalk salons on instagram ask all your local friends. That will be your best bet in getting a style you love.
