In many airports of this class, the runways are small and narrow for large airplanes, outside turbines are not used in the taxi because they can pick up rocks, or litter from the shore, sometimes the reverse is not used on the turbines 1 and 4, or sometimes the reverse is completed before 80 knots if the runway is long, because the reverse can suck stones or any impurity from the grass.
I don't understand one thing 747 Plane is quite big.. but the cockpit is very small and conjusted Atleast pilots should get some space to atleast relax for a while
That's correct. Pilots need to sit as close together as functionally possible but without getting in each other's way. As for the actual size of the cockpit, you must keep in mind that the cockpit in the 747 is actually located much higher up in the aircraft...in front of the area that gives the 747 its distinctive hump. And that hump is narrower than the lower part of the fuselage. This cockpit placement was originally done so that the 747's "nose" can be designed to open and tilt up as Boeing anticipated airlines to eventually convert 747s to be cargo carriers.
18Mortus18 if you'll look on top of the screen it'll show only two engine controls and 2 supply controls whereas an Boeing 747 has 8 of such white knobs.
i.ytimg.com/vi/OdrvtolrdKw/maxresdefault.jpg - this is 737-800 . Look on middle display - bit diffrent . Btw on this movie its clear to see that this plane got 4 engines - look on thrust leavers
I flew an ILS approach with autopilot OFF on Air Canada's b767-300 flight simulator in Toronto. Very cool. I have to say it was very challenging. Auto pilot ILS is easy. Try flying by hand. Wow !
Manav Mehrotra Not on a 747 or such wide bodies. The nose gear steering is controlled by a tiller at the side of the control column. Rudder steering is used at higher speeds during take off and approach.
Nice Video!.
I've been to MAA for two times, but i've never seen Landing view from the cockpit.
Thanks from Japan.
That is so cool, I have the utmost respect for pilots bringing in these giant ships.
Loooong thrust reversal! Good vid!
Flight driving is most rare driving

I was about to say the same thing.....best part.....nope
because he is an idiot
I guess he was just trying to cut the footage with lots of shake on it.. doesn't look like smooth landing...
exactly.. what a shame
thats not the regular passenger/commercial MAA airport in Trisulam, Chennai.
looks like the old airport in Meenambakkam, Chennai used for cargo
It's a cargo flight
My home airport ❤

Anybody here from MAA...
Superbe atterrissage!!!!!!!
good job captains
its Chennai now not Madras
Ronald Mueller Most people like to call it Madras!
in aviation, its considered as MAA, madras international airport
good job pilots
is it a standard procedure for KLM 747's to taxi with two engines ? Because of some fuel savings, I assume.

I think they operate cargo services there.
I don't understand one thing
747 Plane is quite big.. but the cockpit is very small and conjusted
Atleast pilots should get some space to atleast relax for a while
True😔
they are si the pilots can both reach the centre controls.
no good one pilot 3 meters away from each other

why not use ILS until very last minute?
this is a Visual Approach.
He's not using ILS because he's on camera and wants to show everyone that he doesn't need a computer to fly the plane for him.
Simon Ngai ILS and autopilot are two different things. You can hand-fly an ILS approach.
I flew an ILS approach with autopilot OFF on Air Canada's b767-300 flight simulator in Toronto. Very cool.

how do they steer the plane on the ground?
with rudder pedals located at the feet of the pilot
