Join us on the flight deck of the iconic Boeing 747-400 on this approach and landing at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS / EHAM). The flight took off about 9 hours earlier from Miami. Here you see the landing on runway 36C. The full arrival and approach was manually flown by the first officer. Also ATC is included.

No! It is such a blessing to be able to control the fine detail of the craft you're flying. There is so much system and logic in all these buttons. Do not fear the number.
7:26 i thought he lost it
Shaxx I’m not a pilot but I know a lot about planes and aviation in general. Basically he didn’t have a hand on throttle when they landed. The force of the landing knocked the throttle slightly forward, so to activate the reverse thrust he had to almost “violently” grab onto it before the engine increased their speed.

No Chop, it`s unsafe practice, they are supposed to have enough for being stacked for a set period of time and for so many aborted landings/fly-arounds.
@@rattusnorvegicus4380 They should, although the reserves are also adjusted to the circumstances. If their is no bad weather to be expected, and alternates are very close (BRU, DUS, MST, LIE all within 30 min flying), their is no point in bringing enough fuel for 4 go-around and a diversion.
Makes me so sad when theres been a plane crash and it's no fault of the pilots. It's due to a fault in the plane. Horrible horrible horrible. Especially as they try their hardest as pilots to give passengers the best flight. Imagine being the first to know the plane is going down and there's nothing you can do. May God protect everyone always. Safe flights and journeys wherever you go!💛

Yeah the buttons just their to make it look complicated in fact being a pilot is like driving a car doh those buttons actually have the reasons but due to you not having clu about how planes work they don’t make sense to you
As an atheist I obviously never pray before, during of after a flight. But I will always thank the cabin crew and if I see them, guys and girls who fly them for their incredible professionalism and skill getting me to my destination safely.

Ok so who's the Capt. here. I always thought the one in the left seat (facing forward) was the Capt. The bald guy in the right seat should be the first officer, right? He's the one at the controls it looks like. Is the first officer landing the plane? Help.

Only at the end I reaiize this was a cargo-plane. Landed on the Zwanenburgbaan. What I can't figure out sofar is how the pilots make the nosewheel turn when taxiing.
Dirk van den Berg I noticed they have a lever like a turn signal that they can lift up and push down.
Two ways: The rudder pedals (for limited movements) or the "tiller" wheel off to the side (for wider turns).
Nice video, but this landing runway is too short, it has to be extended. This runway is good for smaller planes but not for big cargo planes.
Situational aware comment? Runways at EHAM (except 04-22) are 12K feet or above. You cannot simply "extend runways" in a country like this by the way. Safe flying!
Which explains why the pilot who was flying, immediately put engines in reverse.
