- Saheeli the Gifted is an impressive izzet artifacts commander ... to be fair she doesn't have much competition and really she's best friends with Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain. But Saheeli has it all - huge spells, massive creatures, and all those artifact synergies we love. Let's cheat mana costs with our commander as we ramp into something ridiculous. Sounds joyous!

I'm of a mind that Saheeli's ultimate is actually her second +1.
This confuses me. What do you mean?
XenoSmasher he feels Saheeli's second ability is so good, it might as well be her ultimate, much like Sorin Markov's "put you to 10 LP"
Oh! Got it! I understood it wrong then. Yeah Sorin Markov's second ability is a great example of that! I'm not sure that I would say Saheeli's second +1 is Ultimate powerful, but I'd say It's the best of the three abilities. Even if I get the option to use her ultimate I think I'd rather just use her second ability anyway unless I can win that turn by using it so that she keeps her loyalty and play something big.
After playing it quite a lot I can say that that is generally the case. However, If you have, say, a Myr Battlesphere on the board, or something of similar power it can really win you the game. I once got it to trigger a chain of events that landed me with 6 10/10 artifacts with trample on turn 6. My opponents were not amused.
Putting a player to 10 life the moment Sorin comes out is pretty ridiculous in commander. Don't forget to add the 13 life tree as well.
I've been waiting for years for Wizards to print an Izzit artifacts matter commander because i've been wanting to make an Izzit thopter deck, this makes me so happy

I belive decks are strongs but thé infinite combo with saheeli, the skate and the artifact are just awesome and nobody play that...
I'm kinda surprised darksteel forge isn't in here, since it makes all your artifacts indestructible. It at least helped me win a few games

OK so before going too far, here's how I handled the questions of balance at the beginning:
So I believe I have in the neighborhood of 15 "big" and/or X cost spells that can help me win the game in my list. I have about 35 artifacts. Now some of my big threats are giant robots, but most of my artifacts are either mana rock or value producers at 5 CMC and lower. Take Tomiyo's Journal for an example. It's an artifact that makes more artifacts, and can have those other artifacts double up as card draw or tutors later. Slam dunk of an inclusion as far as I was concerned. My balance lies in that my lower CMC artifacts help me along toward the mid costed ones, and then those help power me along until all of them help me cast a larger spell to win with.
Saheeli is beast, both her plus 1 for lower casting cost and her -7, I ended a game with my partner with 253 creatures and about 300 damage
With all these artifacts running around, perhaps hellkite tyrant?
Yeah I'm surprised that he didn't mention that card! He loves that card and seems to mention it in every artifact deck tech!

Saheeli is most definitely the most flexible commander of the 4... It has multiple ways to focus, but can still combine said focuses if need be, to surprise your opponent.

I think Mycosynth Lattice is a must-have for this deck no matter which direction you go. Combined with Inspiring Statuary and Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain could mean dumping your whole deck!
I bought this deck as my first ever magic deck and there was a huge learning curve. I lost a game last night where I could have just made my permanents indestructible on his turn each time... but didn't even realize i could do that! (I had the creature that could make my permanents do that) but I didn't even think I could use it as a defence...

Modern Tron as a commander deck, I love it XD
A cool little combo with the ultimate. Wurmcoil Engine and Brudiclad. All of your tokens are now 6/6 lifelink deathtouch. There are so much fun brewing with Saheeli as a commander.
Yep. The Command zone talked about using Brudiclad to make all of your tokens Wurmcoil Engine in a Brudiclad deck tech, and that is sick if you can pull it off! Your opponents pretty much have to either send your creatures back to your hand or board wipe twice.
Can you do an Esper Silas Renn deck tech? I think he is really interesting and partnered with Ravos, opens up a cool, value artifacts deck that you want to recur cards for value.
That's a good idea. But we just got some REALLY cool red cards from this deck. I just want to always play Saheeli's directive now
At some point I'm gonna build my Esper artifacts deck. Hopefully I can make it so I can switch between Sydri and Silas at will without ruining the flow.
Perhaps I'll just go with Akiri Line-Slinger and just a few Red cards to cast off mana rocks. I'm staying away from Breya because I don't have a good enough mana base to play a four-color Commander, but if I can cast either one of my commanders with only two of the colors, that'll make things more manageable.
I wanna play with Pia's Revolution and Goblin Welder and KCI in Silas's deck.... Talking myself into it.
There are just so many ways to go about building around Artifact themes now, and I'm super excited but can't get my collection or energy pulled in so many directions at once.

Here some budget recommendations for this deck:
-One with the machine (great draw for artifact decks)
-gontis aether heart (reusable extra turn spell)
-madcap experiment (fun and possibly powerful)
-banefire (good finisher, cant be countered)
-molten primordial (cheap and very strong, doesn't really fit in the theme like the Eldrazis)

Honest question. How is gonti's aether heart reusable? It get exiled when you use it, and it's legendary so you can't make a duplicate of it.
@@vyn9915 Ooops, forgot the exiled part. However I think its possible to get multiple extra turns out of it, using Saheelis ult.
But then it would destroy either of them (ETB legends rule), or you would exile it for the extra turn and then it can't be targeted by saheeli. I don't think they can trigger simultaneously.
@@vyn9915 Ok, I did some rules research and its not possible to respond to the legends rule at instant speed, but you can get multiple uses out of it, if you can a) produce lots of energy, b) create artifacts at instant speed and/or c) copy artifacts at instant speed (to be clear, you need to be able to copy artifacts for all 3 options)
Storm the Vault is a staple in my Jhoria-Storm deck....
I'm running Saheeli and I like her, but sadly she's no Daretti Scrap Savant. I was going to take apart Daretti for Saheeli parts, but she isn't as strong, even with access to blue. So I don't have my best artifacts in Saheeli (I can afford another blightsteel ATM), but I did have some lovely blue artifact synergy lying around because i've been waiting on a UR, or WUR, artificer commander for years (finally I can use my Tezzeret)! Also you should value card draw higher than normal with this deck, Saheeli can dump her hand very easily if you're high on mana rocks. You need to draw all the cards.
I really love Ugin the Ineffable in my build, that passive colorless spells cost 2 less is amazing.
I went more of an antiquities war/mechanized production route, having all those 1/1 flyers become 5/5 flyers on top of regular artifacst, and what i did was make Tawnos my commander with Saheeli as part of the 99. Getting Tawnos turn 2 is cake and with paradox engine I'm starting to see the possibility of an infinite combo in the works, not sure how yet, but tapping a thran dynamo or gilded lotus, copying it with tawnos, untapping with paradox engine after playing a spell to reset, unwinding clock also combos with tawnos in this regard.
mechanized production on darksteel citadel is also nuts, but you can also just play it on a thopter and get to eight thopters by turn 5 or 6 easy. Also, tapping tawnos on artifacts that draws your cards is nuts too.

WAIT A HOT SECOND!!! Deepglow Skate and aminatu is a steel one opponent everything combo and when aminatu is your commander you only nned to find deepglow skate which you can bounce to do it again from anywhere on the field! That just seems op to me
Oh and the last combo that was talked about is an insta win combo with the myr spehre regardless how many creatures they have to block because of the second/third effect of the speher.
Holy magic you're right! I didn't even think of that, and I had thought about putting Deppglow Skate in my deck! I feel like an idiot now! Oh man that's three of the new planeswalker commanders that can create an infinite combo or Ultimate loop!
No wait. That doesn't work. If you use Aminatou's ultimate after doubling her counters with Deepglow Skate even if she even has loyalty to flicker next turn and survive, flickering Deepglow Skate would not bring her back up to 6 loyalty in most cases. Rarely would it be anywhere close. You'd have to flicker it over multiple turns. Even so I don't think you'd really want to use her ultimate again anytime soon after using it.
Once is probably good enough, though. Just do it when someone to your left or right has a way scarier board than you.
You forgot the super relevant aspect where if you ult Saheeli with all the rocks, she goes back and you likely cast her for 6 and then get the +1

I keep seeing the recommendation for all these X draw 3 mana and x cost cards...But not once do I see blue sun Zenith even mentioned which does the SAME THING but also goes back into the deck and can be used later. If you swarm properly you could use the blue sun not only for draw but with how much Saheeli can pump into it you could potentially surprise mill an opponent or two just by shuffling it back into the deck. Ya it's 3 blue over the others making it require alot of mono color sources, But gilded lotus can pay what you need there and your mana ramping anyway in this deck.

Saheeli or brudiclad. I say both. Get a bunch of tokens and big stuff out, copy them and do damage. May not be super competitive but fun as hell

5:20 How do you feel about Mana Crypt? I know you start with a lot of life, but games go long, being on a clock like this, it makes me feel like I do with Winter Orb in a multiplayer game (die quick). I already have these three artifacts so it's not a question of price.
I think Mana Crypt is VERY powerful. I'm fine with the loss of life because it is so explosive.

Andrew Bates Cards in the library are not permanents, so it wouldn't be artifacts

Sorry, I've also a question about Mycosynth Lattice in this deck. It says "All cards that aren't on the battlefield, spells and permanents are colorless" and "PLAYERS MAY SPEND MANA AS THOUGH IT WERE MANA OF ANY COLOR". If in my hand I had a 2UR mana cost, could I cast it for free activating +1 Saheeli ability (all my permanents are artifacts in addition to their other types) or should I pay UR?
From my understanding, you would still have to pay UR. A spell being colorless doesn't remove or alter the UR cost to generic mana. In addition, Saheeli's +1 only allows you to reduce a spell's generic mana cost. It would be awesome if it included all other costs, but then it would be even more OP.

here one of my infinit combo it now about salvagin station in combination whit reckless whireweare with ashnoud ravanger affinity op card and not to mention mana vault anytime you can tap mana vault and floting the mana you use ravanger to sac salvaging bring it back so you have infinit mana of colorless and you have infinit damage this is my favorit combo with my planer bridge combo which is ridiculess to

I think Glyph Keeper would be good for Brudiclad.
How do you feel about Mechanized Production as an alt win?
Well It's in his deck list on tappedout, so I think he likes it in this deck. Although he seems to mention this card in every Artifact themed commander dech tech. I'm surprised that he didn't mention it or Hellkite Tyrant!
I'm definitely gonna run both in my build.
I can't decide which to build first out of the three of these Commanders, or how brutal I want to make the splashy power-plays.
I'll probably stay away from Mycosynth Lattice. I don't really need to have that eating up my budget anyway. I *might* play Memnarch with an Unwinding Clock in the deck. That'll not only let me go into hyper-control mode while still pumping out my own cards via Saheeli's +1, but also let me clone the opponents scary creatures with Saheeli's ult.
Yeah of the three sets of commanders the Izzet ones are the only ones that I'm having a hard time deciding between playing! For me It's Saheeli or Brudiclade.
I really like that card. You should run it.
Rush of Knowledge with the big casting cost stuff, stay with the all artifact theme and have Mycrosynth Gollum out then draw 11 cards and drop any artifact creature for free...... enuff said.
Mycosynth Lattice + Darksteel Forge + Nev's disk = repeatable board wipe that will destroy all of your opponents permanents and none of your own (note: I did not say all "non-land" permanents. It gets ALL permanents). Also Mycosynth Lattice + The Antiquities War = All of your permanents turn into 5/5s AND if you add in a Treasure Nabber, anything your opponents tap for mana (mana rocks, Llanowar elves, THEIR LANDS) come over to your side and also become 5/5s. If you're feeling particularly dirty you can then sack all of their stuff with Krark-Clan Ironworks for even MORE MANA (and then there go their lands).
TLDR: Mycosynth Lattice is more broken than it seems.

Hey Dj can you do a Thantis Deck tech from C2018 ??
Not sure on the full deck tech, but War Cadence, Crawlspace and some of the Defenders in R/G/B. Defender's will give you some creatures to block with, while Crawlspace limits how much your opponents can swing at you with. War Cadence lets you prevent your opponents from blocking as much, if at all; and you can use it to help your opponents kill each other.
Polyraptor might be good as well, as the tokens created during your combat phase would be able to block during your opponent's and they perpetuate themselves unless there's a proper board wipe.
I was thinking about it. I really like the "always attack" clause but I can't think of much that isn't just more JUND. I'll keep it in mind.
Jumbo Commander well no one else has done it. And if you arent passionate about him as a commander. Then dont do it. Because i love your videos because of that. When you “geek” out over a deck tech. I built Queen Marchesa because of you. She is done and is sitting happy in her deck box. I just like his two abilities together. And thought you’d be the perfect person to come up with a strat for him

I am building a Thantis deck cause all my friends said it's a shitty card so i wanted to prove them wrong and to show them that it was not useless design space from wotc perspective.
I intend to use many deathtouch creatures (there are more than u might think), creatures with tap abilities (Royal assassin, Avatar of woe, Heartless Hidetsugu, Elvish Piper etc), equipments that give first strike or allow my deathtouchers to damage creatures on demand (Viridian Longbow, Pathway arrow). More cards that force attacks (Warmonger Hellkite, Grand Melee, Maddening Imp etc) will also increase the consistency of the deck since u can almost never rely on a 6 cmc commander to stick around. Cards that help me recover from the constant combat (Deadbridge Chant, Palace Siege) and/or protect my board (Ascetisism, Heroic Intervention) are a necessity as well. Lastly i want to add cards that make opponents attack each other more likely like No Mercy, Death Pits of Rath and Grave Pact/Dictate of Erebos.

The explosive mana ramp is there. i think it will be strong but not reaching the levels of competitive.

Play artificers and mycosynth lattice. Artificers typically have things like fabricate as well.
Use Inspiring statuary to bring out artificers. Mycosynth lattice. Cast Saheeli. Use Saheeli to cast the giant creatures like Blightsteel Collossus for free.
Also pretty much this deck will be assimilated into my breya deck so I can cast things like Filligree Angel and Maulfist Squadron
Fabricate. Indestructable. Hexproof. All creatures you control are artifacts.
And voila, I have created adamantium
Tawnos goes infinite with sands of time
May I suggest to play Gifts Ungiven, than grab Blightsteel colossus + Kozilek Butcher of truth + Ulamog infinite gyre + Nexus of Fate. 100% chance to get two of these suckers with four Mana. Rest goes back into your library.

Windgrace needed a lot of work. This one can remain a little more "precon" and still be powerful ... but I know that I can't easily stop once I start upgrading.

Darksteel Forge is good too. I like having something that also attacks so I can get some damage too. I also love that tricky graveyard interaction.

If saheeli ults wouldn't she lose the seven counters before the new deepglow would double? Unless she started with 7 and had 14 with the first deepglow and the copy comes in with 7
the deepglow is doubling the new saheeli, not the old one.
I see where your misconception is coming from, when you copy something, you do not copy the counters, so the new saheeli is going to enter with 4 loyalty, the base amount.

Isn't brudiclad+helm of the host an infinite loop into copies of himself?
Foley Smith It will exponentially grow on each lf your combat phases. It will not immediately go infinite. Once you've hit the start of your combat phases, all relevant triggers trigger. It's too late for the copies entering the battlefield later in that step to trigger by the time they appear.
Essefex thanks for taking the time to respond. Talked with an ex teacher of mine that and he explained it to me. It is still very powerful though as you get double your number of brudiclad every turn plus 2 and then could potentially turn them into something stronger
why is the stax/mass land destruction upgrade ignored?
Stax/mass land destruction is frowned upon in most commander circles. No use doing a tech for something no one will use.
Yes that happens, but why mention it in Windgrace ( wildfire, the rest is easily figured out) and saheeli seems to be even better with that build because of mana rocks support without the need of lands, my point was not to do a full video on it because of the reason above but a suggestion as made for windgrace. About the reason i cant quite understand why mass land/stax that actually wins or locks as combo is frowned more than a third or fourth turn infinite combo
If a copied artifact has Variable Colorless in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.

He took out the bad cards and kept the good ones. That how upgrading works. You cant just throw out the whole deck sans the commander and call it an upgrade.

Saheeli's second +1 is completely overpowered. I think it should be banned to be honest. It's stupid the amount of mana it adds in a deck that uses colorless artifacts.

Either Tawnos or Brudiclad are definitely better options as a commander for sure, At least Saheeli is a viable option. There are several different avenues you can take with her.
The way you upgrade Saheeli is play Tawnos instead.
OMG! I am the third person to post a comment. This is a first for me. XD I will write something more relevant later, but for now this is what you get.
Step one take out saheeli for godo step two remove the blue, step three add all the swords, step four add helm of the host and hammer of nazahn. There you go, you got something good going now.
Recommending Mox Opal/Diamon and Mana Crypt are such cop outs. I smh every time I see a video recommend them. Let's be a little more creative....
