This is definitely one of the games ever made.
Best*
That is really
It is definitely a game that was made, good call man.
Yea its definitely a game thats for sure.. ever 😂
It is but also the most punishing one i had to redo when 15+ hours in the game because i accidentally killed sellen.....
Asmon's reaction to getting parried and oneshotted looking disbeliefed along with McCool's laughter is something so funny to witness haha
He looked like a goldfish
I KNOW RIGHT
It took me 5 tries to beat that npc and I never knew he could do that. Really says something about the halberds down smash lol.
Dude, that one guy for the time you fight him, if you don't cheese him, he's a motherfucker to fight, like generally harder than a lot of the early game side bosses
8:00
"It's one guy? It's just one guy, how hard can it be?"
this phrase fucking seared my soul, having to relive the two hours I spent fighting that sorry excuse for hard drive space
My first time through the game, after losing to him like 4 times, I just lured him to the ball and let that take care of him.
His A.I fails to parry or do anything against the Ash of War Bloody slash if it helps for future reference, you can use the ability right before he enters range and catch him each time.
@@Skizzeckz prolly won't be there long
i accidentally cheesed him by luring him onto the elevator and sending him up. completely unintentional. he jumped off the elevator to his death.
I ran straight past him onto the elevator.
he followed me on before I knocked him to his death.
Can't believe he didn't collect ANY golden seeds for his flasks lol
Yep, he don t pay enough attention on the mechanic of the game.. for example versus the magic damage in the academia u can counter it with special item, talismans, potions, another armor, that he have in his inventory 4 sure, hilarious 👍
Too much for autist to handle.
@@furanduron4926 autists would have easier time with the game though
@@Carsu12 As an Autist, this game is not easy.
@@ELP2803 it's just difficult enough to make things feel possible lol
Lmao best part is him having to kill an npc after accidentally attacking. "I just feel like such a piece of shit guys, I really do --- *Loot pops up* You know what guys, he shouldn't have been there, he really shouldn't have been there."
bro didnt even know about the celestial dew😪
I killed patches because I double pressed the button, which means I'd double spell cast like it or not... didn't feel too bad
I tried to revive him because I wasn't sure lf he's needed alive to kill juno hoslow.... the church of vows; you have nothing to repent for :) ... I think a developer might have hated the guy
@@kkkk-uh1cu no it can't revive pepole only pacify npcs
@@kkkk-uh1cu I mean, Patches is only useful if you want the goat armor later in the game, through his quest line.
But you will not lose any game content if you kill him.
20 hours in and still has not read items or learnt that he can get boss weapons... Classic DS1 Asmon
To be fair, that weapon he has upgraded is doing alot of dmg, other people have attacks that deal 100s dmg insted of 300 here. Ps: he really should read itms and pay attention
His weapon is a boss weapon??
@@Shyzenth my +11 greatsword does 350
@Tim U he means turning a soul in to a boss weapon, like with every other game
@@andrejjelcic3675 remembrance souls are boss souls you can turn into weapons
asmon: "why do they keep giving me grease" McCool: "maybe they pulled it off you hair"
I like Asmongold by himself, but Asmongold with someone taunting him in real-time is really special.
McConnel: "Is that Sif?"
Yes, and apparently he went back to college to get a degree in ass kicking
13:55 that's definitely how I feel. That boss wasn't a "sweet I beat it! I feel so good!" Its just a "thank God it's over I hated every second of that"
mine is the magma wyrm, which i had to do twice...
Yeah I fought these guys wayy over leveled and it was still cancer lol
same feeling after beating Ezyek or whatever the rot dragon was called
As a souls vet I will say, those damn statue bosses have a special place in hell. Not that I had a hard time actually fighting them. It was their faces that fucked with me, I could not focus on the battle everytime I looked into their eyes..... they are horrifying.
@@Skizzeckz the ones that look like creepy Egyptian cats? Yeah I agree lol.
I would say the same for those huge creepy birds and demon dogs in Caelid. Just creepy.
Soulsborne players in a nutshell:
"Wait, she's dead?" 😲
"Did she drop anything?"
"XQC was stuck on this for 4 hours. "
Asmon : Why
"I made it up to make you feel better. "
LOL
God, McConnel’s laugh makes it soooo much better!
The 15 seconds that follow 11:28 is what it is all about. This is soulsborne in 15 seconds.
I can actually feel that _“oh no…”_ at the end.
Pro tip: put your flasks in your pouch, so instead of cycling through your items with the down button, hoping you don't accidentally go one past the flask you want, you only need to hold Y and tap a direction to use the flask you want! It's so much faster. For example, I put health on left button, FP on right button, physick on down, and Torrent's whistle on up.
good tip, hate when I accidentally use my potion instead of my mount lol
Additionally, if you hold the down (or up) button, it will auto-cycle to your first slot.
This is easily the best advice out there. Unbelievably useful.
Thank you for this
@@BeRadMH Pouch is still generally faster because you can just learn a two step button press to get exactly what you need, leaving square for throwables which are very valuable to run on any build but especially heavy weapon builds due to the fact your animations take forever so you often don't have a chance to land multiple hits, just means you can output damage consistently and conveniently
There is nothing more entertaining than when Zack is truly having a lot of fun playing a game, he’s happy and full of life, and when McConnell joins the stream. So happy to see you in such a good place right now, Zack. 17:40 no, your problem is you keep using your horse like it has the movement opportunities your character does, but you actually have you fully rotate it to turn it around, and it’s a lot faster/bigger than you are simultaneously
When you get on your horse it has a chance to immediately dash forward, its for when you're running and you want to hop on the horse and keep momentum but it dosent quite work
Horse doesn’t have I frames, plus you can get knocked off in a way that leaves you 100% vulnerable. I learned that almost every single instance of using a horse for a boss that it’s too much instability. There’s like 1 use in combat and that’s closing the distance to dragons, from which I dismount to fight
"She's dead?"
*not even one second later*
"Did she drop anything?"
The duality of man 😂
I like how he locks him self out from spesific really cool boss fights and rewards by killing all side story NPC
@Mad Max how? If you can’t lock on them, they’re most likely not an enemy.
@Mad Max🥷🏻 makes everything so much cooler
"how hard can 1 guy be?"
famous last word in any fromsoftware games
I don’t really know this guy but I found him when he reacted to a dark souls speed run and this guy has the most funniest facial expressions 😂
That's exactly how I found him 😂
Mine was a Cuphead world record run and if you took a show every time he said "And he just takes the damage" you'd be hospitalized.
I got introduced after Act Man used a clip of Asmon playing Overwatch 2 where his game crapped out on him and he did full 3-piece slap from his desk to his head to his knee in one swift motion.
The knight NPC in the academy died to fall damage for me. I panicked, ran past him, tripped the elevator, he ran onto the elevator, hit me once, I bailed off because i was at like 1/10 health and then he jumped off after me and died. I didnt even have to hit him once. 😅🤣
I ran past him into the elevator, and after it went up he carried on following me and fell to his death. Too ez.
I did that with the crucible knight in stormveil! I kinda struggled with that carian knight a bit my first run but, this time I was running a madness build and that was like baby mode he didn't even get to hit me because, I just kept procing madness
I love when he’s beaten by paladin like npcs. Feels so good.
19:10
“why do they keep giving me grease?”
“they pull that out of your hair, or something?”
Hilarious 😂
7:25 No, no.. first you have to find Dracula's Rib, then you stand at the edge of the dropoff, hold the rib, and kneel... and a wind funnel will come up and carry you away.
19:15 Asmon going through the 5 stages of grief in less than 3 seconds
I know the feeling of getting frustrated with a particular boss. Happened to me with the Ulcerated Tree Spirit (the one that gives you the Oleg summon). Every time I walked into the boss room, it would immediately rush at me with the grab almost before I was even done with the animation of going through the fog door. But it made it so satisfying when I came back later with the Sword of Night & Flame and just wrecked the thing with the R2 weapon art. To a lesser extent I had frustrations with the Magma Wyrm that drops the Moonveil katana as I just kept getting combinations of bad luck (like getting stuck on the boss's body so that you just get dragged through it's "charge" attack for what is essentially an OHKO.
At the same time, there have also been bosses I just trivialized, like the Cemetery Shade (by the time I actually stumbled on the thing I was overleveled), as I just outright one-shot the thing with the R1 weapon art from the Sword of Night & Flame. The Erdtree Avatar as well (the first one Asmon fought), I managed to beat the thing without getting hit even once.
I'm sure other bosses will give me trouble down the road though, Flying Dragon Agheel for instance I expect will be infuriating.
If you are at least level 40 the flying dragon agheel will be a walk in the park, I didn’t encounter him till level 45 with a +5 bloodhounds fang and it was easy as it gets
Tip dump for the friendos
The Statue guard dog fight has a method to it, a method that applies to basically any Xv1 fight actually, with some exceptions depending on enemy design.
They're both long animation enemies so all you gotta do is sprint close and then away from one and then beeline the other and attack it.
Preferably sprinting to the melee focused one because that triggers it's AI into winding up and attacking you so once you've gotten close and dipped out again you've effectively tricked it into restricting where it can move for the next few seconds, A soft stun pretty much, because it will wind up, and it can only now move as far as it's attack hasrange, separating them briefly. Rinse and repeat.
You do this with Mobs as well, run close to one without attacking it to trigger an attack and then charge the other, Or keep baiting attack responses by entering and exiting range until they've moved away from each other. Its a spin on the FPS concept of winning 2v1s. "First rule of a 2v1 is, don't take a 2v1."
Separate the enemy and take multiple 1v1s. In FPS games that's done by moving around cover in such a way that only one enemy has line of sight on you at a time, which lets you duel and kill them before peeking the second one and killing them in a second duel. 2 enemies simultaneously in play, but only engaged one on one so they can't gank you.
In a game like elden ring you replace cover with forcing animations without ever committing to the fight until enemies have been staggered into waves that can't hit you at the same time.
Alternatively you can use a spirit to distract one and just wail on the other, it's effectively the same thing but if you consider spirits cheap you can do it this way on your own (Weird flex when the game throws two enemies at you but okay)
This same strategy works on the twin crucible knight/ordovis(I say this cuz if the dogs are giving you trouble then those two will fuck you up)
Redmanes flame makes that fight much easier though because you can trigger them both into an attack, back out of their range and then free aim a wall of poise breaking flames from just outside their attack range while they're still locked in the previously baited attack, which can hit both of them, without allowing them to reactively attack you because you started to charge a spell like they're designed to do, and because that attack lingers and moves outwards you can walk well back and send the flames out as they're walking towards you, they'll meet it halfway and take the hit.
Super effective against the twin dogs too but, they're manageable without it just by baiting one and attacking the other.
You really don't want to trigger the knights second phases at the same time though, If you can trigger the shield knights phase 2 first then you can bait the Wing attack where it flies past you, just dodge through the attack and he'll land massively separated from the other one which you can then attack or, use that to give you a window to trigger the spear one into an attack so that his range of motion is restricted while you fight the shield one with some space etc.
Long story short, stop trying to get hits on a 2 v 1 pair when they're standing within range of each other, you WILL get slapped by the other guy.
Works on mobs too, just run close and away, trigger a couple swings in your direction to limit movement and counter attack in that gap.
And for the love of god drop some armour if you're fat rolling. Protection is great but you don't need it if you don't get hit to begin with and dodging ranged attacks is really easy when you're not fat rolling, You can basically just spam roll for constant I frames to close distance and then attack one then roll more.
If their attacks aren't synchronized, try to use a throwing dart to hit one, staggering him. Chances are when he recovers he'll be firing in sync with the other guy now and you'll dodge both of their attacks with the same roll making it even easier.
If you use a heavy weapon, Carry bone darts (If you can't be fucked to farm crystals for that kinda dart bone darts will do) because they give you consistent and fast damage output that you can basically use as a quick attack.
Once you have the bones available for purchase at round table you can literally farm a bunch of runes, buy a metric shit tonne of thin bones and have the darts permanently bound to square (X on Xbox I think?) I have 600 stored away from a single farm session, and if an enemy is strong against your weapons damage type they may be weak against the darts. The crystal duo for example was taking more damage per dart hit than my fucking 18+ katana was doing a swing so it had even more utility than just additional damage.
Heavy weapons have great power but even their fast attacks are slow, so run darts to replace your fast attacks and abuse the fuck outta heavy attacks whenever you actually have the chance, it's a hell of a lot better than just spending most of your fights dodging and then landing one or 2 hits max every time an enemy cycles through their combos on you.
Ma man wrote a book
@@emdies-mds4957 Well yeah it's hardly helpful if I just say "Dodge 4head" now is it

Now we know how the bosses feel when we spam them with Glintstone Pebble.
28:46 lol the way he hit at that time when the you died screen showed up , looks like he pointing at your corpse and was saying " WHAT ARE THOSE?!" 😂😂.
25:59 you use a shield with high magic resistance or with an ash of war that increases magic resistance and walk towards them with a shield up…. Or you use one of the Myriad of ranger options to a strength build such as crossbow (or bow), crystal dart, bone dart; ect. If what your doing doesn’t seem to be working …. Think what can I do differently to make this more manageable.
Did Asmon already go to the Murkwater Cave in Limgrave where he can find a very familiar face for soul players? Beware of killing the encounte though, cause if you do you might miss out on some stuff.
I take everything slow, scope out every situation I can nice and easy. So it's insane to me when I see people just blow up into a new area and get mad when they instantly die
Not alot of people realize alittle preparation in this game goes a long way. The more you prepare for the better off you'll be. But most people are greedy and want to say they beat the game in less than 80 hours.
A bow, shield and bone darts will literally change the difficulty of the game massively and even make some weapons infinitely less risky to use.
Those three things lets you safely attempt dodges, give you a consistent and fast damage output that'll circumvent the clumsiness of many weapons and let's you select how many enemies you aggro at a time, all of which means you can take things at your own pace.
24:44 - the shush, followed by the onslaught of magic fired at him and the "when do they run out of mana?" made me crack up! haha

Fun times.
I love to watch Asmon playing this game but I can’t imagine playing it myself. Even during the stream the game is giving me anxiety and unnerving feeling caused by the world being so vast and yet so empty and lonely. I know there is a lot of enemies, I can’t quite explain what I feel.
PS: I don’t hate the game, I think it’s amazing. I admire everyone playing and beating it because to me this is one of the hardest game there is.
It's on the easier side of DS games since you can explore and gain a lot of power before bosses. It might be your cup of tea
I like every time Asmon got annihilated by the game, he just went 😮
It's fine if you hate it, I do
That's how every souls game has been for me and why I have yet to attempt to play any of them other than demon souls on ps3 and dark souls 2. I can't play these games without my heart beating out my chest and not knowing where to go
Let me tell you, I know exactly what you mean. Dark Souls has got to be the most lonely and sad experiences, both aesthetically, but also because I die a lot in them. This game isn't near that level, tbh.
The world is vast, but it isn't lonely - the amount of merchants, NPCs you can find, it is filled with them. The aesthetic being very other-worldly/magical really adds to the experience. Even some important bosses have opening cinematics and they talk to you during their fights. Also if you're ever having trouble, go somewhere else, fight an easier boss, level up, come back with near gear and a higher level and win. I've beaten most bosses in a few tries, or even 1 try (I beat Rennala 1 try), and I've only ever beaten Dark Souls 1, so it's not like I am that great at these games. Godrick was a huge pain though, but I could even see methods to level past him (I missed so many bosses before fighting him). This is probably the most brimming with life Souls game FromSoft has made, both literally and metaphorically.
I like how he and Lobos both had the same idea of comparing the academy guys to burger king.
15:25 He was so happy to get it but never carried on using it, anyone remember why? He loved it in the other Souls games.
18:33 I don't know if he ever went back, but he missed a very important item for getting into the magic academy in that area (its where the dragon was sleeping at the beginning). I only mention this as I remember seeing a clip of him talking about not knowing where the academy was. Also in regards to whether or not to use a horse, some fights are just easier on foot such as the erd tree guardian you were on as there attacks are just really to doge into and get free hits.
What infuriates me is seeing how much damage you got on Rennala. Magic has been my primary tool in Elden ring and that boss has given me more pain and annoyance than any other so far. Great vids tho, a lot of fun to watch when I’m not trying to get through the game myself.
Your magic isn't that strong then, my friend helped me out because I'm a tank build and he fucked her shit up before I could even reach her. She's a magic caster so her magic resistance is high
@@cosmicgrim7963 maybe my magic isn’t strong, at the time of writing the OG comment I only had 25 INT, but I wasn’t able to have a friend in the fight because the first phase would bug and the singing girl wouldn’t spawn.

The boss souls are the only ones you really don’t want to loose because you can’t regard them for a second time unlike the normal enemy’s that spawn around the world. The bosses have double and triple souls most of the time vs having to farm random enemy’s for hours to get the same amount.

@@AmeiWasHere the one in the Deeproot Depths, that isn't a boss but doesn't respawn was terribly easy, it's slow and predictable. there is actually a simple move to dodge the ball: you go on the imddle and when it starts rolling go left and pass unscated, then, pull the invader to the falling bball area
Just enter the stairway from the furthest up crossing, run diagonally to the other side and keep moving, it will miss you and once passed cross to the other side, you should be at the top by the time it respawns
I remember in the new game plus, I just didn't want to try to fight that knight properly, and just want to try kamehameha that guy to death
160 hours in still got so much to do still have to unlock mountaintops the snow field and mohagyn palace maps huge
"Did she drop anything? where's the loot"
Asmongold, a gamer through and through, instead of feeling sad that a innocent girl died, he cares more about the loot and was under the assumption she has one.
McConnell is a good friend. The acting to set asmon up for the joke is on point.
The combat in this game is like if your Accountant got sucked into a fantasy world and was forced to fight his way out.
Yep the carian knight is pretty tough especially if you get caught in there combo
Most over powered tool we have to beat gravity deaths is rainbow stones. If the stone shatters, the fall is lethal.
If the stone does not shatter, we will take at most around 50% damage.
As for leaps of faith, same rule for rainbow stones.
