Same here, megabass is expensive but I would rather have a few of the originals than a drawer full of knockoffs I have way too much baits already lol but the dark sleeper is legit for me..that way it swims with so little movement gets a lot of followers The eyes fall off though so I dab em with superglue or mend it to hold em in place The reason the megabass is more expensive is from $ put into R & D and marketing and I would rather support that than a company that puts their $ into making fakes, just my two cents
@@greg6162 I think if I had a lot of time to fish and ran out of baits quickly, I might think differently. But usually I have just an hour or two when I have a chance to fish so I choose quality over quantity. Everyone’s time and budget is different so I say choose what works best for you All I know is that it worked for me so I have confidence in it
Id rather see a comparison on how they survive the drive to the ramp with my rods strapped to the deck of my boat. I dont have a huge rod locker so they go on the deck. The eyes always come off the megabass lures.
Truscend is not a Chinese rip-off. So everyone knows. And 95% of all lures are made in China. Truscend is owned by Buffalo Creek Fishing Co. Out of America, not a Chinese company. And everything is a rip off. The dark sleeper wasn't the first pre hooked swimbait. All megabass did was make it look like a goby to have a fin to hide hook. And now when anyone makes a prehooked swimbait even if it don't like like megabass, everyone cries rip-off.
The fishing industry is all about rip offs (patent rules don’t apply to everyone globally) Me personally I don’t want to spend on Chinese if I have to but let’s face it, so much much of the lower end fishing gear is coming from China factories.. Btw truscend is a Chinese owned company (licensed in Guangzhou) like many companies they create sub companies to sell their products from, like Buffalo creek. But you have it the other way Truscend owns Buffalo Creek and not the other way around. It’s basically a pipeline for fishing products coming from China like you see on Amazon and alibaba etc.
I bought a 10-pack for like $24 on eBay that are actually 3” in size!!! I wish I could tie knot’s better. I have two 90mm *Chinese knock-off Whopper Ploppers* and one authentic 60mm… I fished the knock off’s and didn’t catch anything and lost one which wasn’t a big deal. *Literally my first time fishing with a spinning reel, only went fishing twice before that when I was a kid 30 -years ago.* (It was with my half-brother and his father as a tag-along and I only caught a one sunfish in my entire life) so I have zero experience fishing a real spinning rod with a bail or tying knot’s. So using UA-cam as my daddy, 😆 I rigged up 8/lb monofilament on my Shimano Nasci 2500 and only lost one knock off Whopper Plopper in a tree casting. I was casting like BraveHeart in the beginning… just slinging the whole rod sword like while getting a running start like my name was William. Started to develop technique in that 2/hrs and learned to load up the rod and flick it with same distance but better accuracy. So I went to my company picnic and a few of the guys talk about bringing their fishing rigs to the cookout to fish the creek/pond. So I break out my *brand new un-used AUTHENTIC Whopper Plopper 60mm* and on the 7th cast MY LINE SNAP’S?!! Like 🤬… I just want to catch ONE FISH as a 42yr old man or before I die, preferably a Bass… but I’d take even a Sunny or even a goldfish at this point. Anyway it’s warm here so not sure to use my last Chinese whopper plopper or one of the 20 Chinese Dark Sleeper’s I have? Buddy tied a 8/lb co-polymer leader line to my 15/lb high vis yellow braided line. I know sleeper is supposed to sink so maybe leader line is too short (3/ft) fishing in a 3-12/ft deep creek which is part of the Erie Canal… sorry for the rant if you’re still reading. Any tips would be greatly appreciated… or link’s to easy but strong knot video’s. One day I’ll be slinging fat Sally out of Tonawanda creek ✊
Megabass definately better action...however, the Truscend will definately catch fish & action wasn't too bad...for the price, it's worth buying..just ordered some 10,000 fish head hunter sunfish baits, similar design to these..look really good
I do catch a bunch of fish with this thing... but just don't have it on film... also found a new lure that's has been my go to lately... but still love the megabass, especially for smallies
You recorded some GREAT underwater footage, GREAT JOB !👍🏻
I go cheap and boil the truscend that will soften up the lure and make it swim better
Good stuff man, I like your editing style
Awesome thanks for sharing this with us
Tru send looks legit
I'm sticking with the Megabass just on principle
Yeah it is hard to beat the Megabass!

@@DiamondHead2010 if the quality was that much of a difference then fine. But for those lures to get torn up so quick I don’t think it’s worth it

I’m sure they are from the same factory. The Amazon ones could even be the rejects. Well worth the money. No thanks on the dark sleeper price.

Around these parts we use Megabass
Went to clear lake with Zack from live fast movement my son caught a 6lb bass on dark sleeper
Both the same to me

What about the hook??
The hooks is ok... decently sharp and seems pretty strong but it does not compare to the Gamakatsu on the megabass.
I came into this thinking Megabass, but that Trusend is a pretty good knockoff
how come? magabass is great brand dude
