Before cutting the studs put the nut on then when you remove it after using the hacksaw the nut will recut the thread. If you don't have a vice you don't need to take the studs off the van, they are pretty soft and a good sharp hacksaw blade will easily cut through them in situ.
@@MrGparker81 Funny thing is I can't remember how many I cut ! lol. It's possibly because the others don't stop the swivel from swivelling. I just cut mine in situ, a good sharp hacksaw blade gets through them very easily. EDIT , Mine is a T4 , don't know if that makes a difference.
Just a little tip get hold of a nut and screw it onto the studs before cutting. Then if you do a bit of damage to the thread the nut will act as a die and hopefully repair the thread as you unscrew the nut.
Thanks not long after buying a converted van guy told us clockwise and so far it's just been getting halfway and then me saying f it but this gives me new hope of actually getting it off to try today cheers bud
Robb Ross i was also told to swivel it clockwise and no mention of directing it to the steering wheel. Here’s hoping it will be easier now. Thanks for the vid!
thank you for the well-explained step by step video. I'll watch again but didn't quite see how the swivel after you sat in on top? Unrelated question, do the t5 double seats recline back? I don't think mine does. 2011 t5 long wheel base.
Anthony Hindley You could argue I go the extra mile to help show you guys 😁 Yes looking back I suppose I could've left them in really. Though had my last blade broken just like it did they'd have have to come out to cut with the dremel thingy! Glad the video helped Anthony 👍
I can’t post link on UA-cam but google should be simple. You can get lowered seat bases that restore the seating height back to the original with a swivel base. It’s one of those things though were you have to work out if you actually NEED it, because it’s £275
found out that (in a Caravelle 5.2) the swivel base raises up the seat quite a lot - to a point that any passengers behind can't see the road ahead, PLUS taller passengers (like me when wife drives) will bump their knees in the dashboard. Seriously thinking of trimming the base, or getting a shorter one. Another problem: AIRBAG and seat heater element will need longer wires to stay connected. You can't connect them through the center of the base - risking to cut them when sliding the bench. So make them longer, cut the rubber carpet, take them around, and drill a generous hole in the base to pass the connectors through. ADD WARNING labels to disconnect the cables BEFORE turning the bench - otherwise you'd disconnect them, risking a wire cut that will trigger the airbag!!! PS: when raised with the swivel base, the backrest must be half-folded , maybe 20degrees, or the outer head-rest removed, otherwise it will get stuck in the ceiling padding (close to the passenger handle)
Kitesurf Scotland Thankyou. Yes you can still use it as storage though be careful what you put at the bottom not to snag on the swivel part. You can buy small ledges to eliminate this problem but I haven't bothered. 👍
Tom Whitehouse Glad it helped mate. Got more videos on the way just need time to edit them. Just the front bolts need trimming. Think it's so they don't stand proud and foul the slider plate.
Ahh perfect mate. Is that what it says on the kiravans instructions? Only reason I ask is my slider plate is in the post to me and I want to get a head start by trimming the bolts down 👍🏻
Tom Whitehouse yes mate. I just literally followed the instructions. Very straight forward. Good luck installing it, you'll have no bother with it and most importantly enjoy it :-D
MG Velo cracking stuff! Cheers mate, just arrived, I'll be fitting it on the bank holiday following your video! Did you have any trouble getting the wiring under the floor, I'm scared the weight of the plate will crush the blocks
youll need to take the blocks out of the plastic holder thing. I didn't film this bit. It just allows you to get everything nice and flush. take your time to get it all flat. it took me a few attempts until i was happy everything was safe and sound under there before bolting down. good luck mate!
Out of all the videos, I found this one to have the best instructions. Double swivel now installed. Thankyou

Thanks for the Tip.. quick question why do you only need to cut the front four bolts and not the back ones?
@@MrGparker81 Funny thing is I can't remember how many I cut ! lol.

@@WildPhotoShooter I think your right as in the video it only needs to slide forward 🤔

Great video! Feel a bit more at ease for fitting mine now 👍🏻
Just received my Kiravan swivel this week. Thanks for the video, it will surely help in the install
Great video 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ any idea where to find this swivel for double passenger seat? Citroen Relay?? 🙏
Thanks for the video, great help with my own install 👍
Thanks very good video . I didn't get instruction sheet .. you ve just saved me a load of head scratching
Where is your leisure battery located? Mine is currently under the double passenger seat looking for a solution on where to locate this to

Kirivans are a great company. I've got this double seat swivel too. It does give you a little more space, for sure. Enjoy.🚐🌅🌻
eyelidman09 yes very impressed with them mate, great product and great service! Cheers Matt
I love these I have one myself a 2004 t5 1.9 tdi very reliable I was thinking on putting a swivel seat in great video very easy to put in indeed☺
Like the front seats..are they a re trim or just covers?
Nicely done! Thank you!!
Good vid helped me a lot fella..I just found it easier with a hacksaw to cut bolts where they were...plus I don't own a electric cutting tool 😀
Anthony Hindley You could argue I go the extra mile to help show you guys 😁

good video "pure quality"
Can I ask who retrained your seats? Or are they covers?
Badgerboy visit captains seat on facebook and or their website. Very efficient service. No problems at all. Very good job they did. Cheers. DIYDUB 👍
Very helpful! Thank you!.
great video! What about the cables however?
Kristian Klasen tuck them under the rubber mat in the recess, easy
DIY DUB So no more seat heating nor airbag function!???
Why wouldn't the air bags work or seat heating? All you're doing is tucking the fuses out of the way. it doesn't stop anything from working.
but where exactly are the cables for the seat heating? I don't see any cables leading up to the seating area after the swivel is installed.
so how about the "black box" controlling the tow-bar located within the department within the console? Where to stow it away?
Can find one to fit a t30 transporter or would any fit?
Andrew Yates Not sure. I'd have thought the seating configuration would be the same wouldn't it across the T range?

That looks pretty simple, thank you for this video! Do the seats open up, for extra little bit of storage?
that doesn't change. The bench has access to the space underneath, just like before
Wow~! Kiravan swivel Good!
How much does it cost?
Great video mate. Can you still store stuff in the double seat storage space when you swivel it?
Kitesurf Scotland Thankyou. Yes you can still use it as storage though be careful what you put at the bottom not to snag on the swivel part. You can buy small ledges to eliminate this problem but I haven't bothered. 👍
thanks my man.. just fitted. I found getting those electrics stowed flat a bit challenging!
Whats the grey flooring and is it bonded to the rubber floor? great vid
Where can I get seat covers for a t4?
coverkingdom.co.uk/?CK+VD+MAIN+Launch&_rmId=7b80Rj7gv2HLB61LKQPPikGQd0DwAVcoJOP
Wouldn't it be much easier to raise the swivel base using a couple of washers on each stud, rather than having to cut them? I think so.
Very helpful, made me want to order one now. Can I ask... is it just the front bolts you need to trim down or is it all 8? And how come?
Cheers

Just a little tip....you don't need to remove the front bolts to cut them..cut them in situ simples 🤷🏻♂️
Anthony Hindley Didn't really want sparks flying everywhere in the van to be honest mate.
