Third Star isn't as depressing as the Cumberbatch fandom will have you believe. Yes it is sad and yes it tackles a shattering subject that impacts on many peoples lives but that isn't all there is to Third Star. Benedict, Tom, JJ and Adam are mesmerising and funny and so gelled that it's a fly-on-the-wall look at a lads weekend as much as it is an examination of the end of a life. Vaughan's story is told so well through the boys that even the saddest aspects are hard to turn away from. That said, I do cry at parts even after watching it 20 times!
