he and Tom Hiddleston have amazing vocabulary. I'm Russian and I understand English pretty good, but when they're speaking I sometimes have problems with some uncommon words :D
I can't even explain how much i adore Benedict Cumberbatch. I just love everything about him. First: His qualities as an actor are incredible. He's so professional and talented and I don't think that he just "plays" the intelligent characters. It's how he articulates. He must be smart himself to be such an good actor, to play such intelligent characters. Just look at this wonderful human being. At first I didnt get why everyone is so obsessed with him, just by seeing a few pictures of him. I was like, what's so special about him. But on screen. Gosh, this man is so attractive, it hurts. Now after watching Sherlock, and after watching like every interview on youtube, im so in love with this man. Like seriously. He's humorous, smart, handsome, charming, so intelligent but kinda innocent. So cute, adorable and lovely. But also so manly. I think I've never heard such an perfect deep voice, I wouldn't mind just listening to him speaking about the world all day long. I can't explain what he does to me, but I've never seen a man so perfect in every way. I would be so honored if i could meet him some day. He's a man i could talk to all day long and just be fascinated by him.
+Thera Mina its just so True. I spammed like all the other Videos with how perfect He is. The List of reasons why he's so attractive is just sooo long now.
I absolutely agree with you. His works are always brilliant and as the human being he is just beautiful inside and out. Nowdays there are so many "stars" who are truly rubish and seing Benedict truly gives me hope.
I think Benedict Cumberbatch is the best Sherlock Holmes EVER. I know some people like what Robert Downey Jr. did in the two movies they made with him as Sherlock and Jude Law as Watson, but Mr.Downey kinda ruined my image of SH, he made the character to dependent on Watson, which in my opinion is bad. Because Watson didn't need Sherlock at all, they both have to need each other to some extent and I think that Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are the best Sherlock and Watson. :D
Cedar Johnson I agree with you but I do like Downeys (sorry if spelt wrong) version as it's different but no, Benedict Cumberbatch is THE Sherlock to me
yah..i agree...and Robert downey'as character was like weird,socially awkward one.while benedict's was a genius,smart,and had a swag😄. But i think in novel,SH was like robert downey's
He’s ‘a’ great Sherlock. But don’t discredit the others. They all put in time and effort. Plus people tend to like series more because they can always expect a new mystery from the new episode while movies start and end. Benedict may be gold but he isn’t the best. They all are
The way he speaks about his role as Sherlock, the words he uses are beautiful and mesmerizing; it makes me slightly wish that Ben would write his own fan fiction scenario about Sherlock and his adventures.
nadejda k. I would too. And no, Mrs Hudson, thank you but we won't need the second bedroom upstairs... But funny fact is, when I watched the first episode with my roommate, she was like OMG, he's so like you! You two in a flat and the house would explode after an hour or you would die cause you ran out of food...
Normally I'm not a fangirl, I mean I like many things, but don't go totally crazy on them. But if I would meet Benedict Cumberbatch, I think I would completely lose my mind. I admire him so much for his acting skills and as far as I can tell, he is such a wonderful person! I would have so many questions I want to ask him, but in the end I wouldn't get out a word, I think.
he's so fucking adorable, he doesn't even notice he messes up "food with fridge" because his general eloquence and spontaneity is already in itself fucking captivating and distracting
Omar kyon yea cuz men don't do anything of the sort with women they like or are attracted too, don't they. mmmhmm absolutely. not at all. no over-sexualising. no over-objectifying. nope. none at all when MEN are in opinion of women. it's always the WOMEN who over-exaggerate. never MEN. isn't it. how obvious of me.
Personally speaking... As beautiful as you are Sara, i would completely diagree with you there. Guys are sensitive as fuck! You just have to know where the weakspots are thats all. As for over-exaggeration... I do it all the time for someone i love and adore :p
MrWasayB i never once said guys "aren't" sensitive. I was just pointing out to the previous commenter that WOMEN aren't the only ones who, according to him, "go overboard" with their attractions or likings. it was my way of counter arguing his obvious attack on WOMEN who he directly stereotyped with "over-board" ways of actions, without being unnecessarily abrasive or aggressive or just plain rude, as most youtube commenters are. i was being purposefully sarcastic and satirical with the same issues with MEN that are just as present, just to make a highlight of what the commenter was indirectly implying. whether or not those issues are mostly sexualised or objectified was an emphasis on my part which i now do realize may have been unnecessary, but it still remains as fact in the world we are living in, and it was the only way i knew i could impart my opposing opinion to him through humour. my own blunt, sarcastic, satirical humour. But thank you for giving your insight on the matter, especially in a way that's calm and respectful. oh and thanks for calling me beautiful. you're beautiful too :)
It's very relieving to see that Cumberbatch is actually an intelligent, witty person himself. I think one of the reasons why he plays the character of Sherlock Holmes so brilliantly is because he really understands his personality, his motivation and how he's wired. You would think that that's a requirement for every actor but if I look at movies these days and how some actors talk about the characters they portrait... Cumberbatch does stand out and is a huge part of what makes this show great.
I'd love to share a flat with Sherlock. A lot of the time I think like he does. I also understand his Aspergers because I have it too. While we may piss each other off, I think we'd get along quite well most of the time. Benny's voice is so soothing. I love it so much. He's amazing.
He words everything so well! Gotta say 'fills the food with fridge' made me laugh :D I love Sherlock AND Benedict, brilliant character but it takes someone with real talent to play the part so well. I love the books and BBC Sherlock is my favourite adaption. Mark Gatiss and Steve Moffat (the worlds biggest sherlock holmes fans) have written such brilliant scripts, modernised, witty, and stay true to the original literature. But without Benedict and Martin it wouldn't be the same, they bring the words on the script to life, it's the combined work all of them that makes the show so perfect and you can say what you like about the actors, I for one think they're incredible but those that don't like ben or the others can't deny the talent involved, on all sides.
Yeah oh my gosh The Sign of Three, was just ONE BIG FANFICTION ONE-SHOT. You know how people always say that they would love to see their favourite fanfictions filmed? Well there you go! what do you think about season 3 so far?
Oh, me too! :O aaaah, its just so great that Sherlock IS BACK! (but he will be gone..again! Why are there only 3 episodes in a season!!!!!) Yeah, I'm on tumblr! Or whats left of it, after we sherlockians trashed it this week;) are you?
+Natasha Finch Well, at least we know that besides being handsome, intelligent, charming, witty, down-to-earth, articulate, charismatic, and sexy(!), he's also very human, too! ;-) I'm proud to be his fan.
so nice to hear such a brilliant actor talking about their character with such depth. Benedict has to be one of the most tantalizing, intelligent, suave, charismatic actors, or even people, going. and that voice of his is just gorgeous. :)
Benedict's voice is just incredible. He has the most beautiful and expressive voice I've ever heard, and god knows there is a tough competition amongst actors.
Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch, your portrayal of the rationalist Sherlock Holmes is, indeed one of the best in the history of cinema, in my humble opinion. For this, I thank you. Regards.
Whenever I watch these interviews, and I get lost in the way he talks. And not just his voice-as fascinatingly deep and beautiful as that is. I love his word choice, his sentence structure, his ability to cover all areas of what he is talking about in a way that is comprehensive and intelligent, his sheer ability to articulate his thoughts. He would be a joy to interview. And not just because I find him attractive. Which, of course, I very much do.
As someone who accidentally works seemingly extensive words into my speech since I've been reading as many books as I could as soon as I could read, Benedict Cumberbatch's vocabulary makes me want to hug him. I love to hear him speak. He's perfect in a flawless body.
I love this man! Sherlock + Peter Guillam (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) + The Necromancer + the voice of Smaug + Khan make him even more brilliant. He's just so fantastic

And yes, Benedict Cumberbatch is a very cultivated man to know about this phrase, I'm French myself and I only found out about it very recently
Oh thank you a lot miss for taking the time to explain to me. I'm not english speaker so I didn't understand it very well some sentence he said. Thank you a lot a lot my friend. Have a good day.
Miaew Not a problem, sometimes it's hard to get everything in interviews, and since English is not your first language either, I can definitely relate ;)
He really is wonderful with interviews. So many great actors can't pull off a decent interview, but I haven't seen one yet where Benedict wasn't charming, respectful, and utterly perfect in the way he responds to the questions. He's just brilliant.
his vocabulary is amazing.... not all English man have vocabs knowledge like him.
Love it
I was just about to comment that!
killua123333 Although he muttered 'filled the food with fridge'
he and Tom Hiddleston have amazing vocabulary.
I'm Russian and I understand English pretty good, but when they're speaking I sometimes have problems with some uncommon words :D
I have to google words from time to time watching his interviews and Sherlock
When he speaks its just so relaxing... I might end up buying an audio book read by him just for that.
Theres one of him reading Casanova on UA-cam which is good
He also reads Sherlock 😂
Hmmm
Couldn't agree more
How refreshing to watch an interview with a celebrity who is thoughtful and articulate.
His voice though, OMG.
yes, christ.
Irk!
Tf I didn't even know I commented shit 6 years ago lmao
I totally agree with Benedict. Sherlock IS truly a very attractive character

Brainy is the new sexy 👀
I would love to share a flat with Sherlock. :D
nadejda k. I literally couldn't. I would melt every single time he walked past me :'I

I'm exactly the same way. I was never into this fangirling thing but then I discovered him.
It's remarkable how incredibly intelligent he is and comes off as.
His diction and choice of words in casual conversation is flawless.... never misses a beat but never over does it.
he's so fucking adorable, he doesn't even notice he messes up "food with fridge" because his general eloquence and spontaneity is already in itself fucking captivating and distracting
your words are more captivating ^_^

Not used to him talking slowly. I think I got used to hearing him talk fast as the new normal for Benedict the Otter.
He's so articulate. Benedict is just so amazing
I could listen to him talk all my life long... His voice... What he says is so interesting! Damn, he's smart as well as cultivated! Simply FLAWLESS!
Everyone: oh my god, Ben is so articulate and intelligent.
Ben: "fills the food with fridge"
When it ended I was like, "No, keep talking! Keep talking!!"
His vocab...tempestuous O.O I WANT HIS VOCAB!!!!
I could listen to Mr. Cumberbatch all day, he sounds so smart and nice :)
(^////^)
try listening to his audio book 'ode to a nightingale' (>///
I love his voice, but the words get kind of lost between the phone and my ears
his voice...his smile...his immense and intelligent vocabulary....seriously, could he be any more amazing???
I love how he can pull a word like"tempestuous" out of no were. Never under estimate the power of a good vocabulary.
Does he ever breathe!!!!!!

+Natasha Finch seemingly effortlessly inbetween ;)
0:13 it’s like he’s holding his breath until the last second and then he breathes. That’s why his voice gets lower and lower right before he breathes

Ok. I love that show and it sounds amazing to be on it but I just have to say I love that he said,"fills the food with fridge."
I could listen to his voice for hours on end and never get tired of it.
Turn on the CC and read the subtitles for this interview. Hilarious! "...french fries is pretty scary when you think that's what I should decide..."
him humming is gorgeous!!
I have autism and it feels like sherlock and i would understand each other.
i swear i can hear him talking the rest of my life and i won't get tired
Love Sherlock!

Really going to miss Jim Moriarty from the new 3rd series. Andrew Scott was brilliant as the 3rd lead. Just as compelling viewing as Sherlock himself.
Seen the new episode? Oops!
Benedict's voice is just incredible. He has the most beautiful and expressive voice I've ever heard, and god knows there is a tough competition amongst actors.
I fangirl a lot, but when I watched Sherlock and met this man, I fangirled real hard, and always made Sherlock references in my classes 😂
'...to revel in his...superiority?'
I think AWESOMENESS is the word you're looking for.
How can someone dislike this vid o.O
there are people out there that gets a trill out of pressing that dislike button. its sad and they should be sent in for a mental evaluation
Hahaha!
I Love his cheekbones ^^ And that voice is to die for
i believe he portrayed sherlock holmes better than any other ive ever seen
Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch, your portrayal of the rationalist Sherlock Holmes is, indeed one of the best in the history of cinema, in my humble opinion.
For this, I thank you.

The interviewer kind of sounds like Donovan o.o
I almost thought it was actually her for a moment.
***** Is it?
But why would _she_ be the one interviewing him? I mean, she also plays in Sherlock, why would she interview another cast member?
The little ad I got on the bottom of the screen was for selling Sherlock merchandise. Best ad placement ever.
Benedict looks so much like Dennis quaid. He also kinda sounds like Severus Snape. But sexier.
Whenever I watch these interviews, and I get lost in the way he talks. And not just his voice-as fascinatingly deep and beautiful as that is. How does he manages to tell so much n not repeat himself in all d interviews!!!!
Benedict cumberbatch............. :*
His voice is GORGEOUS.......eargasm. XD
Did he say that John "fills the food with fridge"?
I looooooooooove Sherlock!
Have you watched Dr. Who yet?
Me too and i just started watching Dr. Who today.
I love this man! Sherlock + Peter Guillam (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) + The Necromancer + the voice of Smaug + Khan make him even more brilliant. He's just so fantastic
"fills the food with fridge"
I just meant, that no matter what anyone does, Benedict will always be the one and only Sherlock in my mind.
I want to see the interviewer's face, while Ben permanently smirks at her.
I could listen to him speaking for the rest of my life and never get bored. Plus he's the most stunningly beautiful human being on the planet.

He should play Batman
The best Sherlock ever existed ❤️ absolutely love Benedict and his amazing sexy voice ❤️😍

I love that the way he describes Sherlock and Watson's relationship can easily be applied to a certain other duo dynamic that Moffat has written for which is equally scintillating and brilliant and amazing to watch
Am i the only one who noticed he said 'fills the food with fridge' 2:59 ?
lol when I read that I didn't get what you were saying until he said it.
I swear, I learn more vocabulary words form him than I ever did in English class. I love how properly he speaks.
I wanna share a flat with Benedict
I miss sherlock. please make season 5 :(
unbelievable sherlock it's been 10 years. I feel so old. waw.
ОН ЧУДЕСНЫЙ
Probably my favorite show of all time.
Benedict as Sherlock is very smart and descriptive but so is the real him! Well I mean, he wouldn’t be able to read the scripts for sherlock if he wasn’t
I love that really slight lisp he has. It might be the most adorable thing in the entire world. Also, his face. I like that too.
I think this was planned.
Or Ben is amazing at answering questions.
Gentle, sweet, sincere- He is fabulous!
What does he say at 1:16?
" The French phrase it's pretty scary when you think that's what I should have said" ?
I don't understand
He was talking about the French phrase "l'esprit de l'escalier" (literally, "the staircaise spirit"), which is about the feeling you get when you suddenly find your punchline, what you should have said in the heat of the moment, but way too late, after the discussion's over.

Fills the food with fridge... What?!? XD XD
there is no words to describe how brilliantly talented this fella is.
When I hear his voice my ovaries ache.
Yes, It's nice to hear an actor speak very intelligently and without any apparent ego. I like this manj!
He he
"In the twenty first century, with two bachelors living together at a certain age, questions get asked."
Hey Phandom, where you at?
He's the perfect interview object! Fast talker, interesting, intelligent, to the point, soothing voice, funny..
Sherlock isn't slightly autistic, he IS autistic.
That baritone voice...I can listen all day.
It's just....*eargasm*
I'm Autistic
I'm a LOT like Sherlock
He's incredible- him and the guy who plays Watson have fabulous chemistry
