Star Citizen ends up bringing many players from games that may not traditionally lead to a space flight MMO sim, but that’s because they game aims for much more. It was nice hearing from someone who is relatively new to the game, how they discovered the game and what they thought about the pricing of ships etc.
One thing I would like to see added to mining gameplay would be to combine it with base building and underground facilities to be able to build out a mine.

I really want the scanning gameplay in. I sometimes go looking for good rocks to mine and sell locations for them to miners. That's the best we have for now.
I did love scanning in EVE Online as well. It was quite satisfying to drop probes around and triangulate locations of players.

40:15 oooo and then you could even mix it in with base building, make a building thats basically a stationary mining station, and you can bring rocks to it, and its somehow better than ships at the mining process but it cannot move
I used to be a strictly competitive fps player. Didn’t see the point in single player games or pve games. Then I played hell divers and understood immediately. I wasn’t having to deal with hackers constantly like I was in apex or siege. I knew about SC since late 2019 but at the time didn’t have a pc nor one strong enough at the time. Last month I was really bored and didn’t know what game to play , then Bedbananas video of jumptown was in my recommended and I was sold. It’s been a month so far and my friends are interested in the game but the pcs are dated so they can’t really play. So for now I learn the loops and am ready to guide the boys through the game.
Cool chat I saved up the $5mil for the MSR then the next server wipe I got one from the store LOL 7 ships I know that feeling.
I also would like to Salvage ship mid tier, between the Vulture and reclaimer a 2 to 3 player you just need something bigger to put all the guns in of the ships lol.

@Yoyomeg "Star Citizen is in another league." Some others are saying that SC will be the first "AAAA" game. I tend to agree.
IMO Data running will go hand in hand with smuggling, because either way, your transporting something you don't want anyone to know about.
The MSR was made just for that purpose.
@~56 min, I think you're backwards. The salvage entry ship vulture should be readily available to anyone, the reclaimer should be the one locked behind a rep wall.

While I love the MSR, I hate what they've done with it. It's even worse with the shield changes coming; even more fragile than before. I finally melted it after six years of hoping it would get better.
I still have a CCU chain back to it. Just in case.
It seems to me that SC is more like 8+ games in one.
FPS, Racing, Mining, Exploration, Transport, Engineering, Flight Sim, Scavenging............
I don't really mind that ships can get expensive since this is one game that has basically infinite replayability.
It is an absolute bargain at the $45 buy in point!
You haven't mentioned any social stuff either. Eventually when we get housing that we can decorate, a bunch of content where we can find/earn trophies...
Just a whole bunch of metaverse stuff that CIG might be able to pull off.

Two more categories of people "involved" with Star Citizen. Those that only get update info from r/starcitizen. And those that formed their opinion about Star Citizen YEARS AGO and feel a need to tell everyone that is what the game is now and always will be.

I definitely did. The only other space game I played before finding out about Star Citizen was Outer Wilds, but thats really a typical "space game".
It just opened the floodgates after that.
