Skipped Cars. (67022+67026 on 4O40 @ Canute Road)

- EWS liveried 67022 and Jubilee branded 67026 "Diamond Jubilee" cross over Canute Road in Southampton as they near journeys end. The working was 4O40 BMW Oxford to Southampton Eastern Docks.
Bet that knackered Mr TNT drivers delivery schedule up for the day 😄
Quite annoying, that he didn’t turn his engine off while waiting 😠
As a train driver it's fantastic to see peoples worlds come to a temporary halt, for the passage of a train.... especially a long one! 😁
I certainly don't complain when I'm held up at a level crossing!

From here, it passes through the gates on the right and into Dock Gate 4. I used to work at the end of Dock 4 at the Southampton Grain Terminal and we always had to get a move on at knocking-off time as this train crossed the dock road and, if we weren’t quick, we’d have to wait for it to cross.
Definitely not what you want at home time!

Nice to see at least six cyclists ignoring the red lights and sirens and cross the line not knowing if another train is coming.

Suprise Suprise!! Cyclists and pedestrian being impatient. At least the 7.5t driver waited. But then again he's the only one that's at the crossing identifiable.
This great as its rare with Skips on this working in this area as normally its a Shed hauling these blue logs . Great catch buddy

The gen! There's e-mail groups where the information about what freights/specials are running gets passed around. This train runs Mon-Fri, so turn up at around 2pm and you should see it!

Those 2 diesel locomotives sounds a bit like the EMD/GMD DF Class diesel locos in NZ.

Would be nice! There was a point in time where we'd get 67's cropping up on trains for a little bit, can only assume for crew training or familiarisation. Same happened with Class 60's, would crop up for a few weeks and then disappear. Best I ever saw was the 3 Royal 67's on an oil train from Fawley, all working in multiple.

Interesting! What's the maximum, legal, allowable length of a freight trainset in Great Britain?
I beleive it's now currently around 775m (2,500ft), though that maximum will depend on the route the train is to be run on, as there's no guarantee it'll fit into any loops along the way.

The "where" is Canute Road, by the old docks in Southampton.
