That tyres a disaster waiting to happen. I worked in a remould truck tyre business and if the side wall is that badly damaged it is scraped straight away. The steel wire in the side wall is what gives the tyre its strength. If that blows while someone is next to it they will be killed
True, its probably not up to manufacturer spec. but when you're in a poor country, you make do with what you have. Labor is inexpensive, but cost of materials is not. Its a waste to throw away all the other rubber that makes up the 99% of the tire. Tire manufacturers in western countries don't do this because doing these repairs are too insanely labor intensive to do economically, and quick repairs wouldn't be nearly as strong as this. Rubber was repeatedly hand shaped into the hole for hours, then the spot was vulcanized. This is a solid 2 days of work, for a tire worth less than new. But if the tire is scrap and labor is cheap... Then it makes sense for someone to do this

Yeah the problem isn't that the guy didn't try to make it good repair the problem is that once the sidewall is compromised the strength is gone. Would be interesting to find out how long this tire lasted before the sidewall family blew out again
Well it probably has a big, thick tube in it when mounted, I doubt it would blow out...if something happened to gouge it again in that exact spot, I suspect it would be weaker than the surrounding area and damage again more easily, but the odds of that are probably small...
Though am not an expert in this type of giant tyre repair, I guess that the bonding process with the taping tool plus the final weight press, heat etc, sure makes for reasonable job?

It’s common in the US and other developed countries to retread and repair tires for large earthmoving equipment - giant dumptrucks used for mining, etc. as long as the bead is not damaged, you can retread a tire many times.
This is an earthmoving tyre, never subject to high speed. So while not ideal there is still a lot of life left in a very expensive tyre. This is often done in the western world as well. Done on truck tyres as well. Generally used on trailers however.
Informative post. I did wonder how reliable patched tires are for heavy equipment. But you helped me understand that it depends a lot on how the tire is used. Thanks.
Very nice job on repairing a very large expensive tire. Maybe if this happened more often instead of replacing them, we would not use so many natural resources. That repair will be fine for a long time.

welcome to UA-cam sir. where thumbnails are a trap. 😂
I didn't know that repair existed.. congratulations for the practice,,
amazing work. it requires expert experience, I am very interested in this kind of work.. thank you friend for sharing..
Yeah the problem isn't that the guy didn't try to make it good repair the problem is that once the sidewall is compromised the strength is gone. Would be interesting to find out how long this tire lasted before the sidewall family blew out again
I dont know how long it lasts but, this is obviously not his first repair.
@magnusjonasson1987 For sure that's not his first repair. He is fixing the same tire ever other day!
For an earth mover? I can see this repair lasting a long time.
Well it probably has a big, thick tube in it when mounted, I doubt it would blow out...if something happened to gouge it again in that exact spot, I suspect it would be weaker than the surrounding area and damage again more easily, but the odds of that are probably small...
I give it two days on a loader

amazing engineering. They don't pay you enough to do this work.
I always wondered how this kind of a fix could be done. Now I know. Thank you !
Though am not an expert in this type of giant tyre repair, I guess that the bonding process with the taping tool plus the final weight press, heat etc, sure makes for reasonable job?
Ele não está usando os EPI equipamentos de proteção individual, correndo risco de acidente, no mais fez um grande trabalho
He starts wearing a mask while he's grinding on the inside @ 1:30
@@c.j.cleveland7475 it's just a rag mask it doesn't protect
I dare say these guys can repair anything.
Hello 👍👍 cảm ơn bạn đã chia sẻ công việc 👌
Excellent video 👍
chúng tôi đến từ việt nam. rất khâm phục tay nghề của người dân quốc gia của bạn. đề nghị đeo bảo hộ khi làm việc, tôi thấy môi trường làm việc không an toàn chút nào. Cảm ơn
we come from Viet Nam. Very impressed with the craftsmanship of the people of your country. recommended wearing protective gear when working, I find the working environment unsafe at all. Thank
Excellent work! 😃👍
It’s common in the US and other developed countries to retread and repair tires for large earthmoving equipment - giant dumptrucks used for mining, etc. as long as the bead is not damaged, you can retread a tire many times.
The west is waste mentality 😊
this is not retreading
they are patching the tire, they arent rethreading
That is an expert repair well done
This is an earthmoving tyre, never subject to high speed. So while not ideal there is still a lot of life left in a very expensive tyre. This is often done in the western world as well. Done on truck tyres as well. Generally used on trailers however.
Informative post. I did wonder how reliable patched tires are for heavy equipment. But you helped me understand that it depends a lot on how the tire is used. Thanks.
Very nice job on repairing a very large expensive tire. Maybe if this happened more often instead of replacing them, we would not use so many natural resources. That repair will be fine for a long time.
Povo que eu admiro de mais
São extremamente trabalhadores
Glad to see he's got his safety sandals on!
He has great workman skills .
Here in America , we can buy a new tire easily . When living in a poor country, money is almost non-existent and people have to do , what they can , to make it .
Nice work appreciate
what is the black stuff they are painting on? some kind of liquid rubber?
Great 👌 job 👍👍👍
Pakistan is full of talented and hadworking people.
if google stop adding those windows at the end of the video it'll be fantastic or at least gives us the option to remove it .
With a good portion of the strength of the side wall removed it would be interesting see how long that patch will last.
Na, na, he has rubbed it with the magic wheel, all will be good, or maybe just slightly okay.
IKEA Furniture long
Longer than your new ev , that's for certain !
