Five Big Mistakes Spoken Out Loud By People Who Wished They'd Said Nothing At All--- 5) Nellie Connally saying, "You can't think Dallas doesn't love you today, Mr. President," five seconds before somebody opened fire on JFK! 4) Captain Smith ordering, "Full Steam Ahead," before leaving the the bridge the night the Titanic plowed into an iceberg! 3) The Captain of the Hindenburg sneering, "Who needs helium," as he guided his ship to an 'almost' perfect landing at Lakehurst, New Jersey! 2) President Nixon assuring the media, "People need to know if their president is a crook... Well, I'm not a crook!" (Anybody forget how THAT turned out?) 1) Harlen Elliot Bosworth, former Chairman of RCA, declaring at a meeting in New York of stockholders: "I can assure you, gentlemen, this internet craze surely won't last. People don't have the attention spans to bother with such nonsense!"
it wasn’t Captain John Smiths fault he hit an iceberg the person in charge of the binocular closet was fired the day before the titanic sailed and accidentally took the key with him, no one on the ship knew and thus no one could see the iceberg

At 1:35, that was a REAL Chinese vessel? It's the size of a modern-day aircraft carrier! Can you please tell me its name and date as I would like to learn more about it?
Yes! These giant vessels were called Chinese Treasure Ships that were commissioned by Admiral Zheng He. But sadly, he did not command most of them, nor were they really used for merchant trading, but instead just for VIP figures to float up the Yangtze River. Seems they may have turned out to be overkill. And worst of all, the new Emperor left these giants to rot in harbor, not needing them. DRAG!
Yes, it is a real Chinese vessel. No, it is nowhere near the size of modern Aircraft Carriers. They were, as Halpin2006 stated, part of a massive fleet commanded by Admiral Zheng He, and were eventually left in the harbor to rot and were then burned and destroyed so that the country could remain isolationist.
All can add is, what a sad waste of such a huge vessel, an amazing creation, and a solid display of power. And this was just one minor example of China's loss as it turned inward on itself. So sad.
I really appreciate the effort you put into these videos. The amount you research, effort put into editing, and the simple fact that you pronounce everything correctly and seemingly rehearse is just wonderful. Keep up the good work! This is definitely one of my favorite channels.
I had read that when the Chinese 'Treasure Fleet' had discovered no notable resistance, that there was nothing of interest outside of China and thus they became insular.
China with the treasure fleet thinks that it doesn’t need foreign trade with any barbarians until they rise and fall in on themselves until the europeans knock on their door to answer which is why china isolated itself from the rest of the world is not a good idea.
In March 1922, researchers at the University of Toronto announced the discovery of insulin. They sold the patent for $1 ("so it would be available to all,” he wrote) 97 years later, Lilly is now charging ~$300 and Americans die because they can’t afford their medication. Outrageous.”
That's the fault of America's patent system and lack of a national health system. Big Pharma can maintain their parents by publishing minor alterations in the production process. No national health system means there is no single authority that can negotiate down prices.
The Allies allowing Hitler to just slowly step over the line again and again sounds like what Russia has been doing with Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, etc.
Hitler said he wanted to unite the German people. That's why he wanted Alsace Lorraine, the Sudetenland, and the Anschluss with Austria. Putin literally restated Hitler's position by saying he wanted to unite the russian people.
@@dictatorofthecheese there's a difference between building islands on reefs, claiming uninhabited islands (actively disputed between China and Japan) and violently annexing sovereign countries in their entirety. Nuance and context are actually kinda important. There's very little political support for US military involvement as a means of guaranteeing Crimea and some uninhabited islands do not fall into the hands of Russia and China, respectively. There's also very little strategic payoff for the treasure and possible blood the US would invest in such ventures. Japan and South Korea are perfectly capable of sticking up for themselves, and Ukraine is not part of NATO. What the fuck do we gain from using our military to force the Russians out of Crimea other than "showing the Russians who's boss?" What the fuck do we gain by using our military to force the Chinese to stop building islands and give up their claim to the Senkaku islands other than "putting China in their place?" 6:16 Actually, no, i disagree, theres a slight mass of accounts suggesting that, while germany did arm up A LOOOOOOOT in those years, theyve not actually outproduced or outeconomied the allies *at all* Which means that the alleis had a leg up the entire time, or to put it blunt: Germany may wasnt ready to fight the war from an equipment standpoint, however the population of the allies were NOT ready nor WILLING to fight that war for *another * nation (czechslovakia specifically). or in the case of france: at all! appeasment was at first, a hopeful peaceful solution, but later, continued as an "gamble" to buy time to make sure that the allies can actually fight germany And even when the war broke out for a fairly long time, they were not.
Yeah, germany had a military prepared while the allies did not but economy wise they were stronger, which led to Blitzkrieg tactics and German’s fast pace war, they also had better technology at the start of the war.
yeah, but their cannons were fixed and didn't move, so were almost entirely useless. Read up on the opium wars man. They invented gunpowder, but their cannons were more to "look" powerful, instead of be accurate.

Basically, our desire and need for control of EVERYTHING and a general superiority complex on the part of individual groups, man, and choice to exert that control by exploiting others for one’s own personal gain, and a lack of empathy and desire to understand our fellow man led to most of these mistakes
It’s unlimited that everyone wants to rule the world because of many reasons being greed, lust, hubris but the biggest ones are being megalomaniacal/power hungry and absolute ambition that leads to great people to their own demise and the fall of their own civilizations for their entire self interest. Aboard with them having absolute power, wreath and authority is to much power that can only make them cruel; With great power comes great responsibility and a greater sense is that of the must important rule of thumb for all Rulers and Leaders is this: NO ONE RULES ALONE for that you needed somebody else underneath you who is in charge of the military, businesses, the law and other matters.
Can I ask what your source is for the global Chinese map in 4:22? If this map came from that fleet expeditions then likely it is the star fleet, who likely discovered America first (suggested by Chinese artifacts and technology dating to the same era found on America’s west coast). It’s commonly believed the Star fleet was dismantled and all history of it burned to erase the dynasty that founded it when they were over thrown. Sorry, I know this is a few years late, but I just finished my thesis on the Star fleet and if that map is real that would pretty much confirm my thesis.
Never heard of the 4 pests program. That’s interesting I always thought Mao just sold the grain which caused the famine. I think everyone wants mosquitoes to be extinct but it would probably have devastating effects on the ecosystem.
The vast majority of mosquito species aren't parasitic and are benign; they aren't equipped to suck blood at all (many drink nectar instead). Mosquitoes serve as a very important food source for many other species.
7:18 and Britain and France were? We have to keep in mind just how repulsed by WW1 most world leaders were. France and Britain had been following a policy of peace up to the rise of Hitler, and were just as unready for war, if not more so, than Germany. Even with the extra years of preparation Chamberlain got via appeasement, the British empire was unable to keep itself together following ww2, imagine how bad a war in 1936 could have been for Britain and France

How about reading Pat Buchanan's Unnecessary War. The biggest mistake was really the extremely unfair Versailles Treaty. If a better treaty had been adopted, and Wilson's pledges supported, then no Hitler. Even going back further was not supporting the Kaiser in trying to stop WW1. It was the stupidity of the Austrian Hungarian empire to not agree with the Serbian response to terms that was the real mistake if you go back further. If Britain had not entered WW1 the war would have been just another Franco German War and no Hitler and no Stalin. if France was stupid enough not to work with Germany for peace. Also if the US had not entered WW1 then there would have never been the horrible Versailles Treaty. You are just so uninformed about WW2.
Clifford Nelson you have to remember there was huge feeling of nationality around the middle to late 19 th century. The competing countries were Britain, France, Germany and the Austrian-Hungarian empire. Russia was trying to catch up an d modernising there military, USA was getting over the Civil War. Germany publicly yearned for the British Empire. He saw he needed a huge powerful navy to challenge the Royal Navy. All this worried France, whose lifelong enemy are the Germans since peace with Britain had been achieved the previous century. All caused a huge arms race and inflated militaries. The politicians played sabre rattling over the smallest matter. Yes mistakes where made especially in Africa (borders). In the lead up WW1, a series of dominoes where lined up to balance naturally thus making sure the 2 camps (on 1 side Britain, France, Russia & others - on the other German, Austro-Hungary, & others) kept the peace. The problem with their scheme is they did see once a small infraction triggered the 1st domino there was no way of stopping the knock on effect and reversing its progress. Nationalism so to that! So 1 mans stupid act (Mr Princip), caused over 5 million needless deaths.
Your simplification of WW1 shows your lack of knowledge about it. So many "IF'S" in your paragraph, its great humour. You can quite clearly see you bias towards a certain nation in your rant. Start asking why's instead of if's, you then might start to learn something.

What about the punishing of Germany in world War 1? That became the catalyst for world War 2 and the punishment was several considering Germany was just an ally who didn't start the war they were just better at war. The punishments created hostile feelings and most of the lands they took first were taken from them in the first place which is usually neglected in the descriptions.

Multiculturalism is good, but if someone moved your country’s border into another, people’s heads would explode. Europe then and now definitely couldn’t serve as an example to follow. The straight lines on the map of Africa are mostly through desert or jungle. I cannot see those as such a great mistake, it is up to the peoples of Africa to change them if they wish. Czechoslovakia separated peacefully and set a good example for others to follow. Moreover, the longest straight border would be the one between Canada and the US, which has not caused any problems. The famine in China was not a mistake as such, but a logical consequence of a dictatorial state that disregarded the people as it at the same time sold grain to the Soviet union. The biggest mistake of all time would be to believe in communism. It has never worked.

So I think that put's the Kaiser and his adviser's decision to blindly back Austria-Hungry's move against Serbia near the very top of any list of monumentally bad decisions.
You make an excellent point. But if you noticed, the guy who put out this video definitely has a hard-on for the chinee.
However, I would suggest that Europe at the end of the 19th century going into the 20th century were like a bunch of adolescent teen-aged boys; aggressive, wanting to showoff their manhood. There was always going to be a war. It just happened to be the Arch-Duke assassination that started it.

Okay can we all agree that except for with modern technology today, it's a terrible idea to invade russia
When they assaulted Russia was mere shadow of what it became later.
It's like saying "Gauls disagree that Rome was powerful" because they raided the city before Romans became regional power.

At 1:35, that was a REAL Chinese vessel? It's the size of a modern-day aircraft carrier! Can you please tell me its name and date as I would like to learn more about it?
Halpin2006
Hi, try looking up Admiral Zheng He; he commanded the expeditions.
The date was about 1420AD, or thereabouts.
They were, as Halpin2006 stated, part of a massive fleet commanded by Admiral Zheng He, and were eventually left in the harbor to rot and were then burned and destroyed so that the country could remain isolationist.
some dude -same size as the first carriers ..bigger in fact.

What the fuck do we gain from using our military to force the Russians out of Crimea other than "showing the Russians who's boss?" What the fuck do we gain by using our military to force the Chinese to stop building islands and give up their claim to the Senkaku islands other than "putting China in their place?" There's no oil, fresh water aquifer, diamonds or gold up for grabs.
Lastly, our answer to the Chinese was the goddamn TPP, which included all of the major pacific powers *except for China.* It would have given us a huge economic advantage in the region....but a bunch of dumbasses with no understanding of foreign policy, international affairs or trade policy on both the left and the right called for it termination in the 2016 election. Actually, no, i disagree, theres a slight mass of accounts suggesting that, while germany did arm up A LOOOOOOOT in those years, theyve not actually outproduced or outeconomied the allies *at all* Which means that the alleis had a leg up the entire time, or to put it blunt: Germany may wasnt ready to fight the war from an equipment standpoint, however the population of the allies were NOT ready nor WILLING to fight that war for *another * nation (czechslovakia specifically). or in the case of france: at all! appeasment was at first, a hopeful peaceful solution, but later, continued as an "gamble" to buy time to make sure that the allies can actually fight germany
And even when the war broke out for a fairly long time, they were not.
Yeah, germany had a military prepared while the allies did not but economy wise they were stronger, which led to Blitzkrieg tactics and German’s fast pace war, they also had better technology at the start of the war.

What Bzej said, the only winner in WW1 were the Jews.
No blame for any of the Kaiser's or Imperial Germany's failures? How kind of you to put it all on the Entente and the USA.

It's only good when it's used against whites. Everyone else has the right to cultural and national identity.

Multiculturalism is good, but if someone moved your country’s border into another, people’s heads would explode. Europe then and now definitely couldn’t serve as an example to follow. The UK didn’t even have a border change and it’s citizens flocked for Brexit. Don’t try to infer with sarcasm that it wasn’t irresponsible of them to do that.
