You HAVE to wash out the sun-in after blowdrying. Then the damage is marginal (or, like any other bleach).

We’ve all seen this happen when people over-process hair with bleach, so for all we know this is what happened here. But of course hairdressers don’t like sun-in products, the same way they don’t like box dyes or commercial shampoos. It doesn’t take a genius to know if it doesn’t benefit them, then the product is “bad for us”! Thing is, there’s no dangerous chemicals in sun-in products. The main lightning ingredient is a small concentration of hydrogen peroxide, which is the same ingredient that can be found in all developers used with bleach and dyes. Also sun-in products have come a long way from what was used in the 80’s and so have we! Because many of us have horror stories of spending hundreds and leaving the salon with damaged hair, bad dyes, horrible haircuts all at the hands of these so called professionals. So I do question the motivations behind these videos! 😏

Same, just used it. Made my hair lighter, and although my hair is naturally frizzy it didn’t change the frizz or make it “gummy”. It made for beautiful highlights and lightness on my hair!

Do people not read the instructions? Use it on wet hair, comb it, blowdry and comb and brush it until the tangles are gone. And condiiton before using. Never spray Sun In in dry hair.

Look Sun-In didn't damage my hair a lot but it definitely made my hair look so brassy people thought I added red to my blonde hair and I used a purple shampoo and conditioner like 3 times and a toning spray and that didn't help. Not a cute look.

Why did she use such a high developer bleach? I haven't dyed or bleached my hair in over a year and it is so much healthier now. BUT I used to put Sun In in my hair and I also beached own highlights at home and that never happened to me. But every time I have ever gone to a hair salon they have always ruined my hair or cut it way to short and leave me in tears and down hundreds of dollars.

What I wanna know is what do they do with that test strand it’s going to have a weird blonde streak in your hair I know it’s better than doing the whole head obviously but it’s damaged and stretchy so do they remove that just seems weird to cut a big chunk out so I’m assuming that’s not what they do! Lol

this is 100% a scare tactic trend flowing through the hairdressing community to scare people from touching their own hair/getting out of doing long process work when people have a difficult hair type. a lot of people learned they could do simple process work themselves during covid so im sure this type of work is taking a hit
