  • Be honest - did you use Sun In back in the '80s? I did and I have a lot to say about it!
A few weeks ago I saw that bright yellow bottle at Target and instantly had flashbacks. But I also had that familiar urge to go blonde - so I bought it - and I tried it! BOY - DID I TRY IT!
I rated my outcome 1-5 Christie Brinkleys. Five being that sun-kissed California blonde bombshell who plastered every sports mag in the '80s!

LOVE Sun In! I'm 42 and I've been using it in the spring/summer months ever since I first discovered it when I was in high school way back in the late 90s. My natural hair color is very dark blonde/light brown and this stuff never fails to give me amazing sun kissed highlights! It's so much better than box kits and it's significantly easier and faster. I'll spray it all throughout my hair when I get out of the shower and then hit it with the blow dryer. It never damages or dries out my hair at all. I'll always stay loyal to this product!

That's awesome! It's def a different kinda product than when I used it in the 1980s! I use it every summer now.

Your hair turned out so nicely sun-kissed - looks so natural, and really nice!! I've been using Sun-In this summer - almost every day for a while (I sprayed first with water, then with Sun In, before going in the sun for a couple hours), and I got a platinum blonde color (I started with natural dark-blonde, kinda like your hair color). I actually love the platinum blond color - my only complaint is that the rapidly growing roots coming in so dark (duh). I guess I'll have to buy some more bottles of the stuff!! Ha ha! P.S. I agree the product is much nicer nowadays and doesn't wreck your hair like back in the 80's.

I was so surprised how good my hair felt after a few doses. I honestly expected it to FRY - just like it did in 1985!!! Lol!

I'm attempting to use it again I haven't used it since 6th grade back in 1989 and now I'm almost 47 but I'm so excited to use it again! Game changer!

Excellent review. Very well done. And frankly, I'm shocked you were 12 or 13 in the 80s. I'm pushing 40, and I wish my hair was as thick as yours.

Thanks JC! The '80s was MY DECADE! I became a teenager in the '80s. I got my drivers license in the '80s. All the important stuff happened! LOL. Thx for watching!!!

I love that you did this! I forgot all about this product. I definitely used this (in the '90's for me), and I remember ignoring the instructions too. Pretty sure I used close to an entire bottle in one sitting 😂 Your hair looks great btw--you should keep it!

Braces. A Sun In dye job. And a pre-nosejob nose. I was quite a treat back in the '80s! LOL! I did keep it...and last weekend I got a buzz cut!

In my barracks there was a boy who had almost white blonde hair. And he said that he didn't dye himself, in the end one day we opened his box (how bad) and found a bottle of that product.

Another awesome video Scott. In the 80s I was reddish blond anyway so my hair naturally bleached in the summer, but sun-in helped me get the look earlier 🙂. My best friend. Had black hair and he used my product, his hair went a beautiful aubergine colour. He used it for years. Obviously I envy your hair so please don’t buzz it. 👍🙂😍

Thanks! I've also found that using just a few spritzes very few months during the winter keeps the blond nice and natural looking.

You have great looking hair, in this video. Where do you get your hair cut, in Alexandria? What's the name of the barber/salon? What products did you use on your hair before shooting this video? Please give me the names of the shampoo and conditioner, and whatever else.
