His personality really shines through on this album. Every listen when I hear something new I recognize he is more goofy than I though or I notice how his vocal climaxes are always these genuine emotional outburst that never last more than a few seconds unless he's feverishly rapping.

This is my first Peggy album. Decided to finally see what all the fuss is about.
1st listen: wtf is this. This is trash. How does anyone listen to this.
2nd listen: hmmm something about this is growing on me.
3rd listen: this mans a genius. Maybe my favorite project that came out this year.
So far it sounds very underwhelming and jibberish. I really enjoyed his last album by the way

I think this one will grow on him in the same way Veteran did.
I think JPEGmafia is one of the only artist I can think of who actually treats music like a real art form like impressionist abstract artists do. He creates tracks which are jarring and uncomfortable and that don't make that much, purely because he wants to convey some sort of meaning through them. I think this guy is the most artist musician right now I can think of, and although musically his music may be an 8 (dare I say 7) his artistry is an 11/10 if not more.
Listen to these albums: "CLPPNG." by Clipping (that's the group name lol) and then "There Existed An Addiction To Blood" by Clipping.
Maybe you've already discovered Clipping, but if not you will love them based on your comment. Pure artistry, passion, experimental production, talented at rapping, abstract, etc. In a similar vein. Daveed Diggs is brilliant at storytelling in Clipping's impactful, sometimes jarring, always cathartic and compelling albums. It'll make you feel something haha

I thought this was gonna be a comfy 9, as a project this was significantly better than Veteran.
Hard disagree. Veteran was so tight, so cohesive. This album is great but parts of it feel like he's just trying to be as weird as he can, it's kinda disorganized. Veteran also had so much energy.

Thot Tactics is godlike, I don’t usually listen to experimental rap and by not usually I mean never do I and this album is absolutely great. I’ll agree with all these other dudes being disappointed, this is an OUTSTANDING album. I listened first song to last without a skip and replayed songs as soon after I finished.

The difference for me, is I feel like I can only listen to Veteran one song at a time. All the songs are bangers, but I listen to them like singles.
Whereas, THIS Album, I feel,like I Have to listen to it all the way through each time. The whole album has its own beautiful esoteric vibe that flows throughout the album despite the abrupt song endings and weird inserts/cuts/edits. And tho Veteran had some repeating themes and tones, the ones in this album seem to feel more purposeful.
Idk, the more I listen to this album the more I fall in love with it. In a much deeper way than how I rocked out to Veteran.
I feel the exact way. For as much as Veteran grew on me as I listened to it, Cornballs felt straight to the point. As if Peggy allowed me into his home.
Cornballs, to me, is an experience into the mind of a person comfortable enough to express what he feels, down to his insecurities.
When I listen to this album front to back, I lose track of time and feel disappointed it has to end... which besides the meme I think is one of the central themes of the album and one that seems to encapsulate the feelings of many. Everytime I listen to a song off the album I can appreciate a new side of the production, lyrics, or themes in it and find something new to love. I think Melon should have really waited a bit on the Review to appreciate every aspect of the album as it does ask a lot from the listeners in a manner only few are confident enough to portray. I can SAFELY gurantee that this will be in a sort of "Albums I was wrong about" video in the next one or two years.

Personally, I feel like this album is just better than veteran in general. To me veteran actually took more used to getting used to. Not the main tracks, but more of the low-key interlude type tracks. I will admit that at first I didnt like when the second single came out (beta male strategies) but that got stuck in my head randomly and so did almost 100% of this album. It only took 1 listen and for someone reason all the songs next day got stuck in my head. I only had to listen to it once to love it

I thought the same things Melon did, until I listened to it like 10 times and started to think of it as the aggressive yelly part, the beautiful vocal samples, Peggy saying it'll be ok but then a bunch of depressive loud crashing samples contradicting that and leading into the chill part. I think it's a journey of a song that doesn't make sense on the first few listens. I feel this will probably also be an album that will grow on our boy Anthony, because he doesn't have the time to be listening to this album over and over again for the first week of its release.
This album is a future oddball rap classic which you've just given a light 8.
