I didn’t think this would outdo the old tried and true methods of either having someone help hold the spool with a pencil or holding the spool with your feet and using a rag to hold the line tight as your reel it on. But man I am glad to be wrong; this little adjustable line winder is simple in design and perfect in execution.
Its super lightweight but constructed very sturdily. The bottom base has a suction cup that will suction to most surfaces with the vacuum pressure trigger and it is fully adjustable to accommodate many different size spools. You can tension it as tight as you want which is very nice because I like to spool my line on as tight as I can (I normally spool it twice).

I see the reviews of this on amazon, and I just don’t understand why people think a cheap suction cup will stick(with reliability) to anything besides clean glass...? Then they give it a bad review because it won’t stick to their wood table, or rough tile counters, or a dirty coffee table...don’t people have common sense, reason, intelligence, or logic anymore??? What the fuck do you want for 8$!?!?
I just bought one, I wanted everything but the suction cup anyways, knowing it’s the weak link, I’ll drill a hole in my work bench and use it that way...

moisten the bottom it will stick better
better to put on glass surface ,it tends to separate easily from wood surfaces

He had the same problem I had. The suction cup does not stick to anything!!! I had to go outside and stick it to my glass patio table to get it to work!!!
The thing is threaded and you could easily find another mounting system you could drill a hole into to re-mount this thing,
Guys like John are on amazon trashing products they probably use incorrectly. I mean, imagine that, a cheap suction cup that only sticks to clean glass...lol John you probably blame the reel for your backlashes as well, don’t you...? Probably gave up fishing because you mysteriously couldn’t cast any brand without a backlash...you know I’m right.
