I actually love stuff like this. New and interesting battle formats that have a twist. Random Battles are great, I love them. But once in a while a more chill experience like this for a "cooldown" can be fun!!
This gamemode taught me a lot about competitive, getting into it; Playing defensive is when you play to not get KO’d, and playing offensive is when you play to KO. Sounds obvious but it gave me a deeper understanding of what that actually means. I’m a fencer IRL (primarily epee for the initiated) and the way we do things is pretty similar to this in a way, so now I can apply fencing to Pokémon
haha, yep! There's a drastic difference in how you play defensively vs offensively, though it can be hard to see from the outside because you're still trying to kill the opponent
would love to see this too! for whatever it’s worth though - this format is the site’s random battles “spotlight format” which means it gets a ladder and an option to choose it on the home screen for two(?) months. there are other randomized formats that are also permanently listed (doubles, for example, or past gens) but this is the only really unique one that’s currently playable.
I think some variety with the uploads would be fun, random battles is nice but this (as well as other weird modes that they do every now and then) are very cool to watch as well
I love to see these kind of videos, randabat are great and all, but seeing some more obscure formats once in a while is lovely, it would also be interesting seeing you play in the official ladder whit some team, would be interesting, just so it's not always randabats, variations add value
I play Gen 6 random battles all the time. It’s so nice seeing the Gen 6 teams because I actually know so much about all the Pokémon unlike Gen 9 lol. Love this format
When I was a lot younger I thought single Elimination meant exactly that. That you loose the game when only one single mon of you is getting eliminated. Found out pretty fast that its Not the case

I LOVE seeing all the other randomized formats! The spotlight format that first blood replaced (partners in crime) was SO fun and had lots of room for creativity. It would have been cool to watch you play it.

5:21 what happens if Beheeyem dies to Life Orb but also gets to KO an opponent? Who wins? Analytic boost is huge and can probably dent even the beefiest foes.
They got rid of chatter because you could record a sound and that would be used as the audio for chatter. As you could tell this would have gone bad so they got rid of it 😂
I can't be the only one who was frustrated he didn't low kick with Shiftry. He was faster, had low kick which with beartics weight is 120bp and beartic was weak to said fighting move. Easily should have won.
This format so easy I dominated it in a few hours reached top all u have to do is get a strong attacker and use a move u know he's gonna switch in to and oh ko

This is called Sudden Death in VGC, and it's part of the official ruleset (rarely used way to break ties)
