- I got my first real taste of Lake Champlain bass fishing in this video. I decided to jump into the Northeastern Divisions BFL in Plattsburgh, NY. I quickly discovered that smallmouth bass are a different animal. They're stronger, more aggressive, and so much fun to catch.
Next up is the Toyota Series on Lake Champlain.

Yeah, I thought long and hard about it. And I caught enough in practice to see that these fish are just different and a net is crucial for them especially if you're throwing a bait with treble hooks. More for safety concerns then anything else because they literally fight until the end and the last thing you want is to try and grab a smallmouth and he shakes one last time and you get treble hooks all in your hand.

Never been there however I am a Co angler...... What a deal for the co!!
It's honestly a co-anglers dream. You can look at the weights in the Toyota Series there and see that. There's smallmouth swimming 360 degrees around the boat usually.
It ain't the same as fishing the Roanoke.
