The only time I wanted to clandestinely record something at 2019 Merrie Monarch (strictly forbidden) was when I sat in general admission, behind the stage on 'auana night to watch the musicians. The dancers were all wonderful, of course, as were all of the musicians. But if you could have seen Kalani Pe'a's performance close up, you would have fallen in love with him even more. The passion, the enjoyment, all the emotions in his face...it was just sheer joy to watch. You can see small glimpses in the MM video he's posted on his page of the recap of Kamuela's second place 'auana win. Congratulations to all of you!!
