To answer your question, I'm happier with town building. I'd like to see even a 3rd settlement on your other tile.
22:48 "when you nail the pull out..." we know what you were thinking 😏
And we want to make sure they are pulled out of all the crooks and nannies just in case, y'know? 😋
More town building to build a bigger army in every town, so when we go out, we crush the Baron :)
The graphics and scenes in this game is amazing.
This continuous rain reminds me of my days in London, that continuous swooshing sound of tires on wet asphalt was depressing :)
iirc Churches would always be placed at the highest place in the region so that the steeple was the highest point (closest to the lord) Could be a wives tale or whatever but that's what I gathered anyway. Loving this series though Darren! Appreciating the witty humour as always xD
31:22 You indeed lose the berry deposit if you clear the trees around (seen it happen on The Geek Cupboard's playthrough). Whether it comes back if you replant remains to be seen, since the icon remains.
It might be cool to see a different type of town in each square. Each one focused on one major resources. Some small towns, some bigger. Maybe even a giant city in the middle one. I have really enjoyed watching this series. And I'll keep watching no matter what you decide to do.
I love the chill vibe of this series, I like to let a few come out and binge 3 or so in a row.
Speaking of Stellaris, they've been changing a lot of stuff in the game and there's a new expansion coming soon. Might be worth playing after Manor Lord's and Cities Skylines 2.
Thanks for the video. If anyone's very much into Medieval urbalism, warfare and agriculture I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series: they make an excellent historical background for Manor Lords.
I think you could do some more building before attacking ...esp building out the manor(s)!! I think so because it looks great when you build...
you could even turn it into a small kingdom, build some roads between your two villages and develop the middle province a little bit, with a village between the roads with a manor to fortify a strategic point like a crossing ... :)
Not sure why you're not expanding your retinue? You can build towers for them, which dramatically increases the number of retinue you can have, you have the funds for it. They're better in combat and can be used without impacting your economy.
Goddamn Jerry Kirchhoff! *shakes fist*
I love this series ! Watched your entire Anno lets play before and this one is so great too !
I'd like to see how you expand your towns rather then taking on the Baron. Especially because I'd like to learn how to do this whilst the people are complaining about food. Which would be just as strategic to see, if not more, in my opinion.
Also; I write this and realise that this 'issue' is unfortunately reflecting reality too well 😅 but perhaps that's why it is interesting? I don't know.
PS: I totally get why you'd want to rearrange Swords 'main street' (I forgot the official name please forgive), but I'm also too scared to look I think when it's going to happen haha!
Loving these, and the livestreams. I love the planned vids like Satisfactory and CS2 but your personality comes out much more in these it's great, and loving the increased frequency. I don't know if it's your thing but streaming would definitely suit you
can you expand on your manor please? keen to see some of the add ons there
You're probably at the point in the game where the next natural objective is to challenge the baron, but imo the part I love most about this game is seeing the villages grow around each tile's respective industries
On the other hand, you don't want to build up your towns for so long that when time to challenge the baron comes it's super easy, as that would be less entertaining to watch.
Yeah thats the thing, I have no idea how big I need to be really
As always, great work! Downloading the game right now myself. Thabks to awful internet, i will have to wait until tomorrow after my nightshift to try it out. Love how its coming along. Keep it up!
oof, well at least its not *that* big of a game!
Darren been watching you since the early satisfactory days and kept watching and enjoying this series!! Have you ever wanted to play Star Wars empire at war? It has a very very good mod to make it how it should be from Corey’s mod
I'd love to see some time given to getting the Manor house castle building done
28:49 please build a well close by
It looks like uou are starting to run into the same problem as me (and many others) namely that your granary workers aren't pulling their weight. You see the first signs: increasing amount of warnings of full pantries, higher tier residents being upset because they don't receive their goods anymore... You think everything is fine because you have a lot of market stalls, but when you click on individual food stalls you will notice that they are empty. They are not being supplied by granary workers. This will escalate with more higher tier people since they need more variety of goods, meaning more individuals resupply trips.
I haven't tried it, but I think way less market space and way more granaries might help some.
speaking of heavy rain......
SHAUN
I've seen other streamers having their crop fields show up, but they always put a crop rotation on. You, I've noticed, haven't. Maybe flick auto rotation on to get your pay off?
take your time
Let’s go
Fertiliser over sheep any day of the week. Good choice.
You know stuff about black holes? Bit of science education in your past?
Just an enthusiasts learnings. I like listening to podcasts and educational videos about astronomy and astrophysics. So no formal education, but its probably my second biggest passion outside of gaming, learning and reading about how everything is made. I'm on a big quantum mechanics kick right now, but its very hard to wrap my head around. Tried a few times and every few years I go back, but string theory really does lose me.
I think the reason that not all of your troops were wearing mail is because only tier 3 residents have acces to it
Ohh! Interesting
❤ this series 🐑⚔️
btw “T” lets you go between towns
More manor lords
I bought the game and it’s harder than it looks, but then again I’m new to city building.
A few things arent explained very clearly either so I’m sure you’re not alone
You’re the reason I got the game, I love midevil things, I saw that you can build and grow your towns and make a militia and it’s not like age of empires or Anno. I’m really excited about what direction Greg takes his game.
I got stuck when acquiring the last region. When you do you get attacked by a bloody giant army. And I can't get enough mercenaries to balance it out. I have all the money, but just one mercernary group is available. I keep getting massacred. What's the trick there?
How giant are we talking exactly? Do you have 24 retinue units from all of your regions, fitted with plate armor?
If that's still not enough I'd develop other regions to the point where they could provide more waves of armies once one region has been defeated
@@deivorous-3592 To be fair when I wrote this I developed only 1 region. So I only had 24 retinue. I did not develop any other region because when I reached 1000 population in my first region, the game started to be quite choppy. Is almost impossible to win without at least 3 sets of 24 retinue on top of everything else. So I developed couple more regions (manor + tower) and with 3 fully upgraded retinue is easy peasy. Thanks!
NEXT EPISODE!!
This game looks amazing....is it playable on steamdeck?
Actually waiting 1 hour and 51 min to play this
Not anymore
I my playthrough I have ton of fields, and you should show fields full of plants right around may, june all the way into october..
Yeah its apparently a know bug, rare but its happened to other creators. The fields are growing fine just not visually showing
Goddammit Jerry
Soooo I have a question about how to repopulate a region. I recently started or tried to start a new village but immediately got attacked by a random bandit army. Now it’s a ghost town and I can’t figure out how to get more people back.
I dont actually think there is a way…. Seems like a big oversight but I had that issue too when I was testing something. Houses burned down from a raid and I still had people, but no timber and now way of getting more. Nobody could build anything so I couldnt trade and there was nothing I could do seemingly.
If you have contact with Greg maybe ask him about it or if it’s in the works. Maybe we could mess around with it in the next video or two? I’m sure we aren’t the only ones.
❤
Are you still Doing City Skylines 2?
To war!
bro just make another manor on the new town so you can have another set of retinues smh
More towm building
After playing about 5 hours of the game, I found it to be a little repetitive and I became pretty bored. I hope the development continues though.
Yeah it is - with around 20 or so buildings, and no real tech tree to unlock more things or anything, and without much of a serious challenge, you sort of just have to motivate yourself to build bigger if you want. On my streams and things I've said there really is about 20hrs of content in the game right now. I enjoy it, the atmosphere and the pacing, but for a builder game its fairly light on content and progression.
Don't Tease us with the "Members only" for 2 days haha. 24 hrs is fair and managable. And post more often. Love your Content , Keep it up!
"Manageable" Yosef? Meaning that after 24h you start throwing a tantrum and breaking furniture around you because you haven't had your Manor Lords video to fulfil your need?
@@anthonyr.1568 I don't break furniture, But it would be nice to have the next episode within 24 hrs.
