Roy could play anything that had string on it. Even Jimi Hendrix loved this guys work. True musical genius.
I think you meant "string".
Your right, I watch him play a tampon once
TY for listening to my cousin and enjoying his music, he would love to know he is still being appreciated. For the country music fans in here, a little known fact, Roy Clark is the nephew of Roy Acuff, if you don't know who Roy Acuff is, you haven't been into country music long enough or never heard of The Grand Ole Opry.
Wasn't Roy Acuff also part owner of Acuff-Rose that helped propelled Hank Williams, Sr. into stardom? I have always loved watching and listening to Roy Clark play.
@@edford1693 , Roy had his fingers in everything Nashville, he was teamed with Acuff-Rose in many things. Roy was known as the father of Country because of his influence he held, if he didn't like you chances are/were you not going anywhere. He was however a very nice man and really promoted most everyone. You would be amazed how many of the original crowd of the early Opry are all family related, some still around some died out many years past. If they were born in the Appalachian states most were related, those coming from the west were not.
Your cousin? he was so amazing, so talented and at the same time, humble and self-deprecating.. One of the most incredible talents I've been privileged to hear..
Roy Clark can play any stringed instrument with precision....
Roy Clark's "Yesterday When I Was Young" was his best, but he was multi-talented. We saw him perform live in a small venue decades ago.
Great song, but Glen Campbell covered it better than the original. Glen's singing voice was superior to Roy's. Even so, I loved Roy's version -- until I heard Glen's.
ua-cam.com/video/og8dVo2WY1U/v-deo.html
Love this song.
A remarkable man and musican. He just loved to have fun with his music.
I hope that, by now, you've checked out Roy's outstanding performance playing Malaguena on the old TV show The Odd Couple. Even the show's stars were mesmerized!
Roy Clark has to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time! Mr Clark played three instruments that most people know of guitar banjo and violin or if some would prefer fiddle! He had a long run on a nightly tv show called Hee Haw and preformed every night! That show was old school and featured a lot of comedy plus music! Thanks for the Reaction Video and introducing Roy Clark to your subscribers! Be Blessed thank you!
Roy Clark is in my top ten guitarist and as you see he is a master of string instruments and a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Great reaction
That was some talent right there. There is a video of Roy Clark playing guitar on the old Odd Couple tv show where he plays the hell out of the guitar. I think it might be where he demonstrates different styles of music. Anyway it is a great video. Also, that was the late Jimmy Dean with Roy, yes the sausage guy, Roy Clark got his big break on the Jimmy Dean show. So did Rolph the dog, a muppet character.
We went to see him live in Branson Mo. years ago. Roy is a legend on any instrument that has strings, he could play anything at the highest level. Roy is so underrated outside of country music. His performances were jaw dropping !
One of the things I like most watching him play is to see the fun he seemed to have playing.
Thanks for reacting to this. Roy Clark had a long, successful career and was the best stringed instrument player of all time
One of the things I love about Roy Clark is it's not just guitars. If it has strings he can play it and he will play it very well.
Noticed Jimmy Dean the Sausage King sitting behind Roy. 1964 was about the time Roy was making cameo appearances on "The Beverly Hillbillies". Roy also made a rendition of "Folsom Prison Blues" around the same time that is well worth watching.
I grew up on this kind of music. My dad was a hillbilly from North Carolina. My cousin Del Wood was grand ole opry member. She was a pianist. She won awards for ths song Down Yonder. If you could play it i would appreciate it. Play video. She made me feel like i was in an old pentecostal church.
I don't love "12th Street Rag," but I love the way Roy Clark delivers it. His facial expressions are always such a hoot, and he was ONE FINE MUSICIAN. Watching those agile fingers even after he cranked it up was amazing. Even Jimmy Dean was impressed! (BTW, I need to remember to add sausage to my grocery list. ;)) We lost a good'n, but I'm sure I'll get to see and hear him again around the throne of the Lord.
This is quiet a statement I forget where I read this. In an interview Jimi Hendrix was asked, “So, what’s it like to be the best guitarist in the world?” Jimi: “I don’t know, ask Roy Clark.”
A heck of a banjo player too.
And seeing Jimmy Dean Show also.
Roy Clark was amazingly talented and was enjoyable to watch! Funny man! 😊
Not many can give a masters class in guitar technique with their eyes crossed, but we just witnessed it.
Definitely underappreciated musician. There used to be a show that came on at 6 o clock on Saturday called Hee Haw. He and Buck Owens hosted it. Never saw this man without a smile on his face. The guy they kept showing was Jimmy Dean. It was his show and yes, he is also the sausage guy. One and the same.😂
Roy just doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. He was a legend.
Roy Clark, 'Nuff Said.......RIP ROY, WE MISS YOU.
Love Roy Clark he was so talented could play fiddle guitar banjo, any stringed instrument. Listen to Roy and Johnny Cash doing folsum prison. So funny you’ll enjoy it. He was a Christian.
I like Roy Clark! He’s the best of the best!
Roy Clark is imo the 2nd best guitarist to ever pluck a string. Positively a beast.
Everyone is already saying Malaguena from the Odd Couple so ima just add something to it. Thats not the song he prepared for the show. He never really even practiced on Malaguena then went up there and did it as a one off gag. The actors listening didn't expect it and their reaction was genuine. If you wanna see someone go so fast their hands disappear while making an acoustic guitar say uncle, check it out.
Roy Clark is one of my favorite guitar/banjo/violin/....as others have said, anything with strings. Also as others have said he had a great presence and a comedic talent.
Roy Clark was a very talented man and he can sing good too.
Saw him at the Phoenix Rodeo, Veterans Memorial Coliseum, years ago. He rode into the arena on top of a stage coach, playing a banjo.
Roy was a great all-round entertainer!
I loved to see that he was having fun.
And done with a crystal-clean country guitar tone that allowed for NO mistakes.
he is the best at what he dose
Roy is a magician with the guitar...or any musical instrument for that matter!
We lost a real gem of a human being when Roy Clark went home to the Lord.
Roy Clark is pure legend. He also plays the violin/fiddle, and banjo. I think that was Jimmy Rogers on the sides lines...another Country Western artist
No, that was Jimmy Dean of sausage fame. His most famous song was "Big John".
One amazing and gifted man. Loved his sense of humor. All around great man. R.I.P. MISS HIM!
There’s Jimmy Dean and he’s not talking sausage. You might do Dean’s “Big Bad John”
You're a spice in my life dude!
Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us
Hey Ty, been a minute since I replied to you. Health hasn't been what it was when I was a younger man. I've watched Roy Clark since I was knee high to a grasshopper. He has more skill in his little finger than a lot of musicians have in total. You need to check out some more of his videos. Be careful though, it's a deep rabbit hole if you get started.
Godspeed my friend! You're in my prayers
A man who knows his instrument.
Watching you have fun watching a video is great fun!
He smiled all the time.
Greatest guitarist ever
Love Roy Clark. Grew up watching him and Buck Owens on Hee Haw
Loved Roy Clark! Great reaction!
Ty haven t seen you in a while good to see you again you will.love Roy he can play anything
Good pick, first time hearing of this dude
Roy Clark A Gift From God
Roy Clark was THE greatest.
Roy Clark was the GOAT.
It has been said he was among the elite of stringed instruments. He played classical as well as country and blue grass. He played a mean guitar and had several recurring appearances on the Beverly Hillbillies. The world lost a true artist. He wrote and sang Yesterday When I Was Young, a beautiful song.
One of the greatest guitarist of all time
OMGosh! Your eye brows kill me!
What a funny and impressing video! Thank you - I enjoy your „ eyework“ while watching!
roy clark and glen campbell together..amazing guitar playing..x
I'm still smiling after watching this video. This is a prime example of how music speaks. What else can be said. :-D
I loved seeing this again and thanks for the great reaction. I've played the guitar for over 50 years (yes, I'm old). I even played professionally for many years (now retired). Roy Clark was the first guitar player I idolized (after my father) when I was very young and first learning to play. I even had a lesson book by him. Thanks for the great memories! ❤️
I like this kind of stuff too, great reaction #MRM!
I liked it. Him & Glen Campbell are two of the greatest guitarist ever.
Of course this was before Hee Haw, I had the chance to see Roy in concert about four years before he passed away
He was very talented.
Love Roy Clark
Always loved him! So talented and such a good heart!
Should see him play 'Magdelana'
I think thats right.
Malaguena. Look up when he played it on the Odd Couple. Awesome
It's called "Malaguena".
Roy Clark was a total beast on the strings! Anything else you could check out of him jammin is awesome.
I'd never seen this! He was one of the most gifted musicians of all time. But what I loved the most was that he always smiling & enjoying the music. The joy always radiated from him!
You need to listen to more Roy Clark. He can put play anyone if I has strings.
We saw him several times. Always, always a hoot. So talented. Played multiple instruments expertly.💛
The eyebrows are the best😆
Roy Clark is always left out of best debate
I have always loved listening to Roy Clarke banjo, guitar anything with strings he can play it.👍
The other man in the video was Jimmy dean. You know the sausage, that's the man.
Love rags!! I really like The 12th Street Rag by Liberace. Look up the version Walter plays on his own TV show. So worth seeing! It's on piano, of course, & even better than Roy C.
Roy Clark was a very talented musician. His guitar playing was superb.
Watching again
Roy Clark is the best guitar player ever.
Roy Clark won fastest guitar player I think 3 times in a row....his whole family were musicians...they released an album... This man had talent.
My cousin could play the same as Roy.
@@mattbecham3094 Did he show off? He could have made some money with that amount of talent.
@@mattbecham3094 Dang .. hope he made money at it!
@@charitylane3720 they were too backwoods to know how to develop a career at it.
@@mattbecham3094 , Those mountains are full of people just like Roy, Roy made it because he is part of Nashville royalty.
For all his clownish antics, the man never misses a beat. Love this man.
Rumor has it the fire department was standing by because Roy Cark was smoking hot!
Go, Roy!
Roy Clark - may he Rest in Peace - could play a paper bag and make it sound good. Look for the clip on "The Odd Couple" where he just blows everyone away.
Grew up on Hee Haw and Lawrence Welk. Nuff said! You might also take a look at a video with Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed called Jerry's Breakdown.
The guy next to Roy was Jimmy Dean of sausage fame.
On a level most can only dream of.
Thumbs Up ..... You ought to watch the dueling banjo video he did ....that's a really good one
Oh yeah. Roy could play anything with strings. I loved seeing the Jimmy Dean show when I was a kid.
Watch him play the fiddle and the bango! Lord have mercy !
Roy Clark's fingers could go so fast, they could've got arrested for speeding! 😁
I saw him in concert real fun show all real playing unlike today
I seriously had to watch this twice. Once for Roy Clark’s performance, & once again to just watch MRM 🤣🤣🤣, awesome 🙌🖤! So, I used to watch Hee-Haw as a little girl, & he was like the host I think. We’re talking like I was prob 4-5’ish, so I’m sorry if I’m wrong. He is sooo talented, & a pleasure to watch play! 🙌 ... it’s funny u said that too Ty... I was never a fan of the blues, however, got to see BB King on tour with Clapton, & Jeff Beck... much more entertaining live for me!
A good one by Roy is thank God and Greyhound shes gone.
Roy was a great musician! Take a look at this amazing clip from the TV show "The Odd Couple" - ua-cam.com/video/-xssnp7R51A/v-deo.html It's Roy performing "Malaguena."
Great choice! One of the most impressive performances ever!
@@heavenlyguitar5913 There's also a good live version, here: ua-cam.com/video/Pz2hXI7Ny9I/v-deo.html Both are good, but it's fun to watch Jack Klugman and Tony Randall
step out of their TV show characters and just sit there in awe while Roy plays!
Thanks for sharing that was great
YES - Malaguena!
Roy Clark was a legend that will be missed he played the violin and of course fiddle also banjo and guitar and maybe some other ones I don't know about rest in peace Roy Clark he is a true legend.
Roy Clark was very talented. Could you react to Yesterday When I was Young, you'll see the different types of songs he can do.....
He was a funny dude and AMAZINGLY talented and could play a banjo equally as well. I grew watching Hee Haw, too.
its the speed his fingers could move he could really go on the banjo as well he probably would have made more money as a rock musician but country was his thing
For a different style from Roy Clark, check his rendition to MALAGUENA! it's so great
Easily in the top 5 greatest guitarists that ever lived.
