    Other Products I Like: www.amazon.com/shop/plantfitleah
    Overall Impression: I like them both, but I think I favor Purple Carrot just because they are an all plant-based service and have WAY more vegan options. But I do like some of the Factor Add-Ons a lot so I don't know... think I may alternate between the two for awhile.
    Date Delivered: May 18, 2022
    Price Paid: Purple Carrot pre-made meals are $12.99 each (plus tax). Factor pre-made meals are $12 (plus taxes and shipping). The prices are a bit cheaper if you go with some of their other plans though...

      Let me know if the Factor code works. I cancelled my subscription with them so I'm not sure if my codes are still valid...

    If you have a free Purple Carrot, I'd love to share one with my Brother-he's a vegan workaholic teacher in Pacifica with a chronic pain disorder so, haha, it would make a nice gift for him
    (OC only if you have any left that you aren't using!!!)

    So am I the only person that finds that a large sun of the purple carrot meals are basically frying the stuff? I can deal with frying once a week but I’ve had to mod some of the recipes or reduced the oil content. Yeah olive oil is good but when you seem to be going through a bottle in quick time that’s not great!

    • @PlantFitLeah
      @PlantFitLeah  Рік тому

      Yeah, I agree. Most of them have at least one step where something is being cooked in oil. I never really cooked before getting these kits so I just assumed that was normal...

      @@PlantFitLeah it is in some dishes but not all. I know some people hate oil. Im not one of them, but I believe in moderation or variety. Also noticed everything is cooked. And I mean no salads lol. I live in Miami; sometimes I just don’t want to have the oven on! If it’s 98 degrees I just want a gazpacho or some salad. Something light.

      @@ireneswackyjournals8810 Yeah, I know some plant based people follow the "no salt , oil, sugar" train. For someone like that, PC probably wouldn't work well since several recipes use both oil and sugar. What I've started doing is skipping my shipments every other week and spreading out the meals across two weeks. It means I have to come up with my own meals on the days I don't cook, but it allows me more variety than when I relied on the kits all the time.

      @@PlantFitLeah been doing the same since I basically was backed up by a week. I do it because I’m in a large scale project and I can’t spend 2 hours cooking while on a phone with IT fighting about deliverables lol! And Uber eats is way to expensive. Once I’m over this; I’ll use the books and just introduce some recipes to my recipe excel. Yes, sadly I have literal vba macros haha. Nerd here.

      @@ireneswackyjournals8810 Lately I've been getting their pre-made meals instead of the recipe kits. They're good and super convenient but not nearly as good as something freshly prepared... A recipe spreadsheet sounds like a great idea! Not sure that I'll go as far as adding macros (lol!), but it would be good to start organizing my favorite recipes from the booklets. Thanks for the tip :)

    Theres only 2 things that sucks about vegan meals tofu and sweet potatoe.

      Haha, I'd have to disagree with you about sweet potatoes, but I'm with you on the tofu. Thankfully, there are other protein options out there. Seitan is one of my favorites.

      @@PlantFitLeah you know what would be sooo cool like vegan penne ala vodka….but it has to taste good ive tried my own and I didnt like the taste lol. 90% of vegan meals taste bad though thats why lots of people dont do it lol. I like fruits, veggies, pasta, nuts, seeds….very hard to find recipes for that stuff😭😭

      @@ThePlandemicPodcastof Yeah, where I live there aren't a lot of vegan food options. I struggled at first because I didn't know how to cook, and even if I wanted to, it was hard to find all the weird ingredients in the recipes. Not to sound like an ad (I'm not sponsored or anything, lol), but that's why I liked the purple carrot kits. They send you everything you need and walk you through the process in the recipes. Now I'm a lot faster at cooking and find it easier to follow other recipes. Maybe my taste buds have changed over time, but I honestly think that what I make at home tastes better than what I used to get at restaurants before I went vegan. If I want junk food, I can still go to Taco Bell, Burger King, or just eat fries or chips at most places. I've also found that there's a lot of things at the store that are "accidentally" vegan like oreos and stuff. There was definitely a learning curve at first, but now I'm glad I did it... especially with the price of food going up. Cooking with veggies is a lot cheaper than using meat these days (at least where I live).
