Great video. Quick tip, you don’t need to remove the level sensor from the X166 chassis. Just fully deflate old bags and remove between rotor and frame. This also helps if you don’t have a scan tool to inflate the new bags once in place. All you need to do is start the car while rear end is raised, place an additional jack under the axle and lift until the sensors turn the compressor on. This makes it so much easier to line up the bags one side at a time IMO
Hi my friend honestly, I don’t know because mine were in a good condition and I didn’t need to replace them. I guess if you need them you may call the dealership and see if they have a part number to search it but I don’t think it will be that expensive if you buy them from the dealership
Yes they’re not bolted and yes on the top, there is like a little bolt that sticks down and That’s where you put that plastic tab. But yes, you are right. It’s just plastic tab on the top of the airbag.
@hajileserpud9539 i’ve used only the airbags in this video from Sun core, for right now. I’m pretty happy. I’m still driving with the airbags from this video and you can see how old is the video.
You can buy that diagnostic program from eBay for like $20 I believe but you have to buy VCI C6 to be able to communicate with the car The program name is Xentry diagnosis. Or Buy a pre-installed laptop with the program and the VCI c6 combo for around $700. I hope this helps
I tried to get the program from eBay, had issues with the code and gave up after hours of reinstallation. You use a Bluetooth VCI? Which one exactly? Thanks buddy
Hi my friend, I was in the same boat like you I never managed to figure it out the Bluetooth and it took me to2-3 purchases until. I found the right seller to help me out with the installation. most of the time I use the cable because the Bluetooth from time to time works sometimes it doesn’t and I don’t wanna screw up the computer of my car.I use VCI C6.
@@Ivan_Neykov where did you get the software? I tried eBay but no success so gave up at the end as I said. Good video btw will change my bags today on my GL.
Those air bags will be garbage. Only use Arnott air bags not cheap crap. I changed my E Class estate ones in 1.5 hours for both. No special tools needed. Arnott air bags from Autodoc are around £550 a pair so what do you think the quality of ones at £100 are going to be?
Thank you for watching my friend if you’re looking for a OEM quality Mercedes dealership is your best bet 😁 P.s. I’m still driving with the same airbags from this video
Bilstein is the Genuine OEM Part for Mercedes. Even Bilstein has both Made in Germany version and Made in USA version. German made one will last 10 years, USA made one will only last 5 years.
Hi my friend I just checked on the website and right now 2 airbags for the rear suspension on my 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL450 is only $82.84 so once again, you need to wake up, stop being lazy and look around before you speak out of your a……..😊

Good tip! Thank you I really appreciate it
Very good video.
Good explanation.
Thank you very much.
Great video! I have a 2010 rclass…. I think I paid $1800 for this repair thanks to you I’ll be doing it myself
Thank you for the feedback I’m glad that I was able to help
Hı, Which brand did you wear?
What was the brand of air bag you installed? How did it hold up over time?
Suncore no complaints. I’m still driving with the ones from the video.
@@Ivan_Neykov thank you
You are very welcome
Hello, what program do you use to calibrate suspensions?
Xentry diagnostic
@@Ivan_Neykov thenk you👍
@@Ivan_Neykov Do you have the original one? Wonder where to get a functional version cheap.
You don't need to remove the sensor.
remove the tire, and squeeze the bag through front upper gap.
Thank you this is a great tip
Did you remove the fuse during the install then pluged back in when doing the diagnostic via the software?
No I didn’t remove the fuse during the installation.
Can you please provide info on the MB tool you suggest? I’m having the same issue with my rear airbags on my 2013 GL450.
You need the diagnostic tool? Or your talking about something else?
Do you need to recalibrate the airmatic system?
I didn’t recalibrate mine so I believe not
Wait so hose just gets pushed in?
When you lifted suv did you use differential point for the jack?
Yes i know it is crazy but just pushing 😊guess it just works
Dude you missed the white caps that hold the air bag on top. You are supposed to screw in a plastic white pice on top
Thank you for letting me know but no I didn’t miss that part I put it in
where do you get the new rubber boots ?
Hi my friend honestly, I don’t know because mine were in a good condition and I didn’t need to replace them. I guess if you need them you may call the dealership and see if they have a part number to search it but I don’t think it will be that expensive if you buy them from the dealership
Did I miss something? Those air bags are not bolted up top, but rather are held in place by a plastic tab?
Yes they’re not bolted and yes on the top, there is like a little bolt that sticks down and That’s where you put that plastic tab. But yes, you are right. It’s just plastic tab on the top of the airbag.
So is the laptop necessary?
No, it’s not necessary as long if you find a safer way to remove the pressure from the airbags
Hi there, just wonering how long your replacement air springs lasted?
Thank you for watching and if I remember right 3-4 hours
@@Ivan_Neykovlol... you mean months right ? Why did the break so soon ?
@@Ivan_Neykovso what's your review on Sun Core industries were you bout new airbags ? Are they good and they products ?
@hajileserpud9539 months? I don’t know what are you talking, but why did my air suspension brake? I don’t know that’s how I got the car.
@hajileserpud9539 i’ve used only the airbags in this video from Sun core, for right now. I’m pretty happy. I’m still driving with the airbags from this video and you can see how old is the video.
What kind of software are you using ??
The name of the software is XENTRY
what is the diagnostic software you use on the computer? is it free or paid software? and is it accessible to anyone? Thanks!

I’m sorry that eBay didn’t work for you. I hope everything goes by the plan, and you have a successful replacement of your airbags. Keep me posted.👍
My height for my car is not level. How can I fix that ?
You need to get diagnostic tool and adjust the height
@@Ivan_Neykov okay
No problem 😊
@@Ivan_Neykov should I replace both bags even thou one is bad ? Are they replaced in pairs ?
That’s how I did mine, but if you want you can wait until the other one goes bad it’s really a personal decision.

Wish I could ignore that awful music.
Thank you for watching
Where is the $100 fix?? You put new bags in and I know those were more than $100.
Sorry to break your dreams but when I made the video that’s how much I paid for them. 50 bucks a pop. 😊

I guess they are non-genuine airbags.
Yes they’re not. I mean if you want to pay $300 plus just for a sticker then go ahead.
