Hi Fernanda, very cute orchid and very healthy, love it! I think they might like sphagnum more as you said it yourself. Thanks for sharing this cutie with us. Have a great week ahead and happy growing.

I know the first advice you get when asking online about the antocyanin colouration is that it is completely light related but this is just something complete newbies keep saying when if they had a bit of experience under their belt they might question this notion.
Especially when you have two identical plants growing next to each other in identical light conditions and one turns red and the other does not.
Or the red appears on the underside of the leaf. ie the other side the light shines.
A further clue is that it will even happen in light conditions that is too low for flowering. So I know. I know, beginners only get told to stick it in lower light.
But that is like a doctor telling a patient a red rash on ther skin is sunburn and they tell their doc they haven't left the house in a month so it's very unlikely to be a sunburn.
In the same way when diagnosing problems with our orchids we should only trust professionals and not some "guy" online who swears he grows orchids and you trust him blindly.

It is so true. Anthocyanin is not always a good sign and that was the sign the smaller plant was not getting enough humidity, hence getting more sensitive to light. Thank you Tom for your comment. Have a great weekend 💝😍
