In reference to that hard closing bolt, several friends have encountered that on Ruger Americans at some point. I found a burr in the ejector hole in each rifle which eventually caused the plunger to freeze in the extended position. A handheld drill bit removed the burr in a couple of seconds. Problem solved.
I love my RAR 556 and use it as my truck gun and keep it ready for hiking or packing. Instead of a scope, I put NoDakSpuds iron sights on mine. They work great, and the rifle looks tough with them along with Ruger's standard muzzle flash hider.
I found that all the edges on my receiver were quite sharp. They were actually shaving the bolt. Some 2k grit sandpaper eased the edges ever so slightly and it now cycles much more smoothly. I also cut the stock to make it so that it no longer covers half of the magazine release. This was a very easy improvement using a round file and 2k grit sandpaper. I am using mold making silicone to fill the stock and add weight to get a better balance.
I just bought one of these in 300 aac and I'm pretty pleased too. The trigger is adjustable and I lightened it as much as it would. There is some slight creep in it but not enough to affect my shooting or even be annoying. Great value imo and I'd love to have one in .223 too as well.
Bob, did you do the trigger yourself? I have one in 762x39 but not sure if I should have that gunsmithed or not? I don’t have too much experience with that kind of stuff so I’m a little skeptical.
@@silvercoaststacker2247 I did it myself. In the owners manual there is a part that talks about it, turning an adjustment bolt. You tube might have something on it. I don't have a trigger pull gauge so I don't know where I started and how much I changed it. Ruger states the minimal pull is 3#'s which is ok, but not really light. I have firearms that are much lighter. I had a Ruger M77 of 1990 vintage and this trigger is lighter than the M77
I have a Monstrom 1-4x and I am happy with it. I put a Primary Arms 4-14x on my 5.56 Ranch, what a difference that kind of magnification makes. I’ve had my Ranch for a few weeks and I had problems with light primer strikes until I cleaned it real well a couple of times. I am shocked at how accurate it is.
Looks like you’re at the main range at SLOSA. Try out the Delta long range sometime. Just took that same rifle to 800 after testing out some loads. Great review!
I am at slo I was able to ping everything at that range going to the long range next it inspired me to buy a 6.5 creed American so you will see that soon.
With Remington bulk .223 shooting 5 rounds mine shoots 3 inch groups at 100 yards, but with Sako it shoots 5 rounds in an inch. Super stiff bolt though, hoping it breaks in
Hey mate , just ordered one of these , so I’m watching everything I can about em . Gave ya a sub & like just for being you . Keep the videos rolling man . Until ours turns up all I can do is watch. Take care friend.
I cannot speak about the Ruger Ranch in 5.56, but I have it in the 7.62x39, and a Ruger Predator in the 22-250. Both are consistently, using a good bench rest, right at 3-5 shots, one inch groups at 100 yds. That's good enough for me.
Mine's certainly capable of meeting the 1-in MOA guarantee. I was shooting 200 yds the other day and maintaining one half in MOA. Not a fan of the feed system, but if you close aggressively he usually doesn't jam. Perhaps after 200 rounds it will work better. Not a fan of the safety. That sounds like a brass band when you trigger it. Other than that for the money, it's a fabulous rifle. Not sure why you need a suppressor on a 556 since it the bullet would still break the sound barrier and crack. I have a muzzle break on mine and it definitely cuts the recoil in half. It should be a nice pickup rifle. Put a cotton m1 sling on it and a 4x16 go and it works perfectly. Looking to get out to 300 yards with it.
@@thepeyotecoyote5994 7.62x39 except for a flier or two getting 1"groups with pretty much everything except Turkish , WOLF and monarch. Really hoping somebody has information on ranch 5.56 accuracy with steel case ammo

Thx for the tip I will check it out
ive been happy with mine, bought it about 4 years ago. since then I've added 3 more americans and for the price you just can't beat them. cheers
Yeah probably add a 6.5 creed at some point
I have the ruger american go wild in 7mm-08. It shoots amazing. Really impressed with ruger
Nice guns for the working man there hard to beat for the price
@@thepeyotecoyote5994 yeah I got the burnt bronze cerakote edition for $500. I'm sure others have gotten better deals but I'm extremely happy with it.
Great deal 680 in cali

Iron sights are probably pretty good on these
Bro where did you get those sights???? I've been looking for them for ever!
Where's the sights bro :(

I like mine so much I just bought the one chambered in 762.x39 also. The Monstrom stuff works pretty goid for the money.

Thanks. Good info. I just got one and I’am going to add a Magpul Hunter stock to it. I run AR mags as well.
The stock is what I like the least I may add the magpul stock as well
@@thepeyotecoyote5994 the magpul stock will cost almost as much as the gun but worth it if you want to improve accuracy.

My favourite 223.
I have the ruger American predator in 223 and was able to get 1/2-3/4” groups reloading it with 60gr vmax’s
That is excellent I believe the predators have a longer barrel
I have the 22" inch model with the rotary mag and this rifle will shoot
Great review. I had expected for my barrel to be touching the stalk but it was clear from the stock right out of the box a very nice rifle.
I put a vortex crossfire 3-9x40 on mine.
don't pull down on the magazine...it will cause the bullet to not feed correctly.
I like this good for hunting my bro

Regularly hit a 8 inch target at 600 yard
Seriously now....... What yall getting with steel case ammo???????
Is the ranch 5.56 comparable to the 7.62x39 ranch?
Love the 5.56 but I also just got the 7.62 so we shall see

Very nice. I wish Ruger American came in 357/44
Now that would be cool 😎
Good info. Just wondering what cheap scopes are available for this rifle? Thanks
Monstrum scopes are decent and not to pricey look at amazon
@@thepeyotecoyote5994 Thank you. New to scope and rings, what kind of rings would you recommend? The size and type. Thanks in advance
Where's the bi pod from? That one looks great
Ebay happlyseller pretty nice really about 20 usd
Cool video man I just posted video of mine. Fun rifle to shoot
Love it
Fiochi 50 grain is what mine likes killed a ton of yotes with it longest kill 483
Very good trainer for the $$
Brother, ditch the laser & learn the old school method of "bore" sighting. You'll waste much less ammo 👍
Mine is sub Moa out of the box
Mine looks identical to that.
Super awesome rifle enjoy!
Nice 2 MOA group at 50 yards 😂
