That's actually really reasonable for claymation. Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the WereRabbit took 4 years with a massive team of claymation artists.
Ben is one of the best portrayals of a nerd ever depicted in media, without ever looking like a stereotypical nerd. Any misconceptions that he's too hot to be a nerd vanish the moment he opens his mouth and starts tripping over himself. Best of all, Ben is also an inspiration for young adults who mess up bad and put themselves back together, without losing sight of the things they love. I went to school for animation and it takes a really long time so I relate to his claymation project so much. I spent over a year on a project and it was only about a minute long. So 3 weeks for a 3 second clip in not unrealistic.
Thank you for this. That scene always cracks me up but as I know nothing about claymation I had no idea if he was bad at it or just had unrealistic expectations
I don't think he was depressed, Chris thought he was because Chris dealt with depression. Ben was obsessing over his hobbies too much, until he realized they were way too time-consuming and unproductive.
That scene where Ron and Ben are walking by the white fence has got to be the same place where Ryan and Dwight were at when he was mentoring Ryan in his farm
I love thé result of 3 weeks creating thé claymation. 🤣 In fact, nearly all of it, I laughed so hard I actually shat myself, and I was laughing so much that it was a full five minutes before i actually got up to...er, clean up.

Yeah, I would even go so far as to say it is entirely their fault. Who elects an 18 year old!? Hehe. Silly gooses.
