3 years later just want to say thank you. Thank you for making this video and saving everyone $300-$400 for such an easy fix. Thank you so much we truly appreciate this 🙏🏽
You saved our vet clinic a boatload of time and money. Also note: this screen is REALLY not engineered to deal with animal hair- and if the code throws its going to be full of clothing and water (our machine is also on an elevated platform approx 5 inches above the floor. That was a hoot) Thanks for the video times a million.
Thank you for this video. There should be an easy access front filter clean out especially because this machine is exceptionally heavy. What a engineering fiasco. I hope I don't get hurt moving the machine to clean out the filter. I will try this. In the future, I won't buy a washer unless it has an easy to use front filter access.
Glad I have my brother to do this for me. I had no tools or any idea how to do this. He fix it so fast. I could have done it myself if it wasn't for the dumb structure of this machine. Why put it all the way to the back, and behind the steel wall?🙄
Thanks a lot! I used your method, drained many gallons and removed tampons and color catcher sheets from the filter. Ran the washer again and of course, I get the "SUD" message, as it is now full of soap!
Thank you so much! pulled out the plug and filter and there was a bunch of stuff and a small sock stuck in there. Washer works great again now! you saved me a repair cost!
Worked wonderful! 30 min job just because I had to move it from the wall. Difficulty: 2/10, lots of screws, and filter as tight, but otherwise the video explains it all. THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I had my shop vac ready, found my drill and atttachment. I did not find anything in the filter, but ran bleach through the hose, backed the washer up so it is solidly level, and am using even less detergent (we have soft water). It is running well now, hoping to get a few more years out of her. We will see. Thanks for the know how so I felt comfortable taking this on myself.
I just want to really thank you for this video and a better version of this problem then the other videos on here! I used a shit vac as well cuz I had a lot of water more than I thought I would. Your step by step just made it a lot easier so just a joe schmoe like me could even do it a person that's not so handy I just did this last night and followed your steps from the day before of watching this. You saved me a huge service call wait and probably a $200 service bill as well. Our filter was clogged really bad. Cleaned it out completely and threw compartment the filter sits in. Put it back together. Fired it up and it works like it's new again. Thanks again
Great video. Short and straight to the fix. Saved a ton of money not having to call a repair person just to clean the filter. No socks though, only a huge wad of lint. Wish they would engineer the thing by rotating it 90 degrees to the back, or to the front with an access panel. Thanks!
This video saved me a ton of money. I did do one thing differently that you- After the pump started running I unplugged it from the board. I didn't want it to sit there and run dry for an extended period so I tried that and it cleared the error immediately. I already had access to the panel so this was something easy to try.
In the video, an arrow is pointing to the knob you pulled out that had the sock & gunk in it...I took the back off, but the knob is facing the front of the washer...How do I take the front cover off the washer to get to it?
My older duet had a removable lower front panel which provided easy access to the filter -- which was pointed to the front of the washer. The new one (a 5.0 cu/ft model) is like yours -- you have to remove the back panel to get to it. Seems like we're entering the not-easily-repairable-by-the-user age, and Whirlpool is near the front of the parade.
Thank you for this awesome video. I have done this operation with success once before, and did it again this morning. I cleaned a bunch of junk out of the filter, and restarted the cycle. It then threw the code again, and when I opened the filter again, it was clean. Any advice for what to do?
Great video…….have. F9 followed by an E1 error….we checked……no clogs. Drain pipe is good. We cleared the error codes the only problem we have is when we hit the start button to the washing machine (press and hold button). It does not appear to be coming n to start the washer. Would this be an electronic issue with the panel board. Does anyone know how to problem solve this please. Thank you in advance!
Wow I took the back of mine off for like no reason. Mine had a bottom drawer I could pull out to get at it. The main drain hose was pretty dirty as well though so I cleaned that well I was in there.
Thanks- this may be my problem slthough I will probably find a clump of dog hairs. I wonder how something as large as a sock could get in there anyway.
this fixed my problem, but it doesn’t make sense to me…..my filter was empty…there was absolutely nothing stuck in there! just a whole bunch of undrained water
@@ProWorksTV1 I don’t know how the washer machine ate up face mask… really enjoyed the video didn’t need to spend hundred of dollars for a repair person.
Good video. But my washer had to be made in some crapistan country. When I got the back off the pump/filter was located the whole way front, with the screw cap/ filter facing away, to front of machine 😁
I have this washer and it is as stupid as it gets when it comes to the filter cleaning ... removing the back panel and having the filter cap facing forward ... Jesus ... i would fire the design engineering group in a second. How hard is to put an access panel for the filter cap ?
@@ProWorksTV1 that is not the point ... This is like putting your car's gas filling port under the back seat and in order to access it you have to remove the seat that is bolted to the car floor from underneath the car.🤣🤣🤣

You saved my night. Thank you for the two videos I watched on the pump.
Perfect fix! I found about 4 dollars in change in my filter. Some of the pennies had been in there so long they were a 1/4" around.

Great video, simple and to the point and saved me a lot of time and money. Found a sock, hair and about 75c in change and a couple of paperclips.
This worked great! Simple to do and so happy I did not have to pay a repair man.
Just got the code today, and found two color guard sheet stuck in there. Thanks for the video, it was a great help

Worked like a charm and easy. Sock, candy wrapper, dog hair, etc. Thanks for the great tip!
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to help us with our laundry problems! 😂
This worked great! I was able to fix our machine in about an hour.
Thank you! Simple, short and easy to follow.
Thank you I just help my neighbor blessings to you
Thank you for this video. It helped me fix my washer.
Thanks for the video, it clearly explained the steps I needed to follow an worked great! The shop vac tip was GENIUS!
Thank you so much for sharing this information with all of us. 🥰
Great video told me everything I needed to know to fix my machine. Keep up the excellent work!

Super helpful video...followed exactly & not only did it solve my problem but I'm $1.50 richer!
Thank you SO much!
Thank you very much .. you saved me lots of 💰

can't wait to check this. mine is stuck in drain mode and I tried letting it time out but it just would not quit.
Thank you

Much thanks - this worked for me!
Thanks for the video. It certainly helped me out.
How do you move the whole washing machine?
How about the code still shows up when the filter is clean, and no debris in the main drain in house?
Also having the same problem since cleaning the filter, same code and locked out constantly
@@DanielTillotson I bought a new drain pump. Problem fixed
Thank you this video was very helpful
How possibly socks goes in the pump 😂😂😂
My the filter is near the front it is very difficult to reach the filter from the back

I have seen a faulty door switch cause this problem but not always
Hello how are you fix a code e1f in my whirlpool washer
So what if it keeps happening but there’s never been a clog do I just need to replace the pump?
Yes. Probably just need a new pump.
Thank you. I Had 2 nursing breast pads stuck in there… haha
Thanks dude, just had to do this
How can a sock get stuck in there? I see rubber and drain holes… how can a sock got thru???
This is great! Thank-you 😊
Wow I took the back of mine off for like no reason. Mine had a bottom drawer I could pull out to get at it. The main drain hose was pretty dirty as well though so I cleaned that well I was in there.

Perfect, thank you!
I'm afraid to see what's in my filter. Thank you for the video!
Thanks- this may be my problem slthough I will probably find a clump of dog hairs. I wonder how something as large as a sock could get in there anyway.
My husband did all of this and there was nothing in the filter and nothing stuck. We are so puzzled!
What did you figure out?
That's where all my socks go haha
this fixed my problem, but it doesn’t make sense to me…..my filter was empty…there was absolutely nothing stuck in there! just a whole bunch of undrained water
You can tilt that back and remove the bottom panel as it's only 2 screws
Thanks
I did all of that and my wife went to start a load and we got the same error message.
Thought the second sock was a mouse!
I cleaned mines today and boy there were a freaking face mask in there!
🤣

@@mariajackson2273 I had to go thru the back and reach to the front to do it
@@josephbaugher4737 Mine is the same. It doesn’t feel like there is room between the front panel and the filter.
@@NewBraunfelsTX I did manage to reach it from the back and unscrew it. It's doable but there are some sharp edges in there
The only thing I found in mine was about $2 in change
Nope..didn't work..removed all plumbing and still won't drain and gives error code..took it outside for technical support with my 12 gauge
Found a bra pad, $.45 & a chopstick.
🤣
Let me try it then
Wow I ripped my linoleum floor and broke my freaking phone but my filter is clean :(
This is definitely the harder way to do it.
So you gonna post the easy way?
What if it's the pump though? My drain was not even close to this clogged but the water so won't drain in a cycle. Have the same codes
It could definitely be a bad pump and may need replacing
@@ProWorksTV1 I noticed lowes and homedepot don't carry parts. Any recommendations for this?
Try partselect.com or even Amazon sometimes will have these
