NCT127 almost always harmonise/chant in their songs. they are known as a male choir so yes they are known for singing in unison well.

NCT 127's new nick name after this Dingo is Kpop Male Choir. That's just how good their harmonies are.
Makes me wish the choirs I grew up with were anywhere near that good.
I would say NCT is certainly known for the layering of their vocals, SM groups in general have this as a feature of many of their songs and that vocal depth is very recognisable to me over the years.
After this Killing Voice some fans online were calling them the Nation's church choir :)
P.S. I laughed when you mentioned Mark's stank face. He and Johnny (the member on the far left of screen) actually wrote and produced a song called Bad Smell inspired by the idea that when you hear good music you have an expression like you came across a bad smell. hehehehehe

5:08 Yes he is in the dance line, kind! His name is Jungwoo and he's lead vocalist and lead dancer, but in nct 127 all but 2 of them are in the dance line. That might sound weird but I'm not making it up, they have 6 lead dancers and 2 main dancers, and then 2 people not in the dance line, though they still dance ofcourse!
So a lot of talented dancers in this unit. Nice.

I watched NCT Dream's Killing Voice as well. Good stuff.
This Killing Voice performance, as the title indicates, is supposed to showcase NCT-127's outstanding vocals, so just like in all the other Killing Voice performances you have watched, what you are hearing is a complication of some of the best parts of their songs that highlight their vocal abilities. They have a lot of songs, so you are only hearing a small fraction of them and only a few lines of each of the songs (And in some cases, they are singing parts from the middle of the song, so it may sound different when you listen to the actual song.) Also, several of these songs are B-side tracks, so they don't have MVs.
Because NCT is an SM Entertainment group, it shouldn't be a surprise that they are also amazing singers. As you are starting to discover, SM is known for having some of the best singers in the industry. You can't be an SM artist without having unbelievable vocal abilities. Even the company's rappers focus on vocal training. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. All of SM's artists and groups are known for being top tier when it comes to live vocals and perfect harmonies.
And, switching up the beat and style of the song in the middle of the song is pretty much how the majority of NCT songs are structured, as well as SM's songs in general. It's kind of SM's signature style. You will hear that same thing happen in a lot of the songs you listen to from SM.
In this performance there are 9 members -- from left to right: *Johnny (lead vocalist and sub-rapper), Yuta (lead vocalist), Haechan (main vocalist), *Taeyong (leader of all of NCT, main rapper and dancer), Jungwoo (main vocalist), Taeil (main vocalist), Doyoung (main vocalist), *Mark (main rapper and dancer) and *Jaehyun (main vocalist and sub-rapper).
Taeil is the oldest of all of NCT and he is currently 29 and Haechan is the youngest in NCT-127 at 23. However, if you want to know who is the youngest out of all the NCT members, that would currently be NCT-Dream member, Jisung, who is 21.
NCT -- which stands for Neo (a pop culture term that means new/original) Culture Technology -- currently has 20 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127, NCT-Dream and WayV.
NCT-127 is NCT's second sub-unit, which debuted in July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit, so the member lineup stays the same most of the time. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world, which means it's 127's job to represent Seoul -- the birthplace of Kpop -- around the world.
Therefore, some of NCT-127's songs are part of NCT-127 mini albums and other songs are part of full albums that include songs from all of NCT's sub-units. Hence, why some of the album descriptions mention NCT-127 and others just say NCT.
"Fire Truck" was NCT-127's debut song, and at that time there were only 7 members of NCT who were in the "Fire Truck" MV -- Taeyong, Mark, Jaehyun, Taeil, Yuta, Winwin and Haechan. However, now that NCT has 9/10 members they also include Johnny and Jungwoo in the song whenever they perform it.
For their song "Touch", the part at the beginning where Mark said, "ummm ...", that was actually part of the song. If you listen to the full song, you will hear him do the same thing in the MV.
Fun fact: What you heard was the Korean version of "Highway to Heaven," but if you watch the MV for the song, you will see they also have an all-English version. ("Highway to Heaven" was released during their North American leg of their concert tour in 2019.) They have an all-English version of some of their songs because NCT-127 promotes a lot in the U.S.
"Faster" was just an (INST) instrumental version of the song, which means it's just the music and they don't sing. "Faster (INST)" was the intro to "2 Baddies," so Johnny was supposed to be introducing "2 Baddies" at that moment while "Faster" was playing. "2 Baddies" was their most recent comeback song at the time and the whole reason why they were on Dingo's Killing Voice was to promote "2 Baddies," which is why you heard that whole song, "Designer" was also a song on their 2 Baddies album.
NCT is one of the most internationally diverse groups in all of Kpop. The members as a whole currently represent 8 different countries and they speak 7 or 8 different languages. For example, there are 9 native Korean members (*Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, *Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, and Jungwoo), *Mark is Korean-Canadian, *Johnny is Korean-American (from Chicago), Yuta is Japanese, *Ten is Thai, *YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). However, they all live and work in Korea, so everyone speaks Korean fluently. Plus, many members have attended international schools or lived abroad, so there are several members who are also *fluent in English, on top of speaking 2 or more other languages.
NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the group or song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL
NCT is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's original goal was to eventually have NCT sub-units representing every major city in every country in the world. They soon will be adding new members and creating a Japanese sub-unit. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with all English versions of song like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as U.S. concert tours and promotional tours with the American media, etc.
So, this year is NCT's 7th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies, so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted.
All of NCT 127's title tracks are hype and go hard and you would love if you heard the whole songs. With killing voice, they chopped off the best parts to some of the songs. NCT really mixes up their songs so much with beat switches, especially because almost all of SM title tracks are going to have a R&B bridge.

Welcome to NCT 127! They’re my favorite NCT subunit and favorite K-Pop group overall because of the massive amount of talent and the variety of their songs. I happen to love the more aggressive style of many of their singles (which often gets them into trouble), combined with the smooth, sometimes almost jazzy r&b style of their b-sides. It’s notable that besides Koreans there are two Westerners and a Japanese member: one of their two main rappers is from Canada. I’ll give you names and hometowns.
Johnny (Chicago), Yuta (Osaka), Haechan (Seoul), Taeyong (Seoul, one of the two main rappers and dancers, leader of this group and all of NCT), Jungwoo, (Gimpo, just west of Seoul), Taeil (Seoul, in my opinion one of the best vocalists in K-Pop), Doyoung (Seoul, also one of the best vocalists), Mark (Vancouver, also one of the two main rappers and dancers), Jaehyun (Seoul). I could go on about each one’s individual talents, but hopefully you’ll discover them yourself soon enough. I will say that everyone dances well in this group.
Keep checking them out, and like a lot of reactors I’ve seen, you’ll wonder why it took you so long. Enjoy!

@@kpopauntie Oh i second the recommendations provided here. NCT 127 is always a hit or miss for most people since they are probably the most experimental music group in Kpop. But the tracks listed here are some of the more safer ones??? 😅As a musician I love most of their music.
So my bias is jungwoo he’s the one in the tanish sweater. I can never take my eyes off him lol. And then the guy in the blonde that is yuta he is my wrecker. I think you would like nct 127 but I think you might also like wayv those are my two favorite units from nct besides when they all come together. And they are all chaotic. And the silver hair is Taeyong he’s the leader as a whole the entire nct. And the other rapper is mark he has a white shirt and a black open shirt. I think Jonny who is all the way to the left from how I see the screen I think he raps some of the time also. Also I’m not much of a nct fan but I am trying to get into them. I know a ton of songs from them and every member lol I’m getting there though lol.

@@kpopauntie yes exactly. I may not be a fan like that but I really do enjoy them. My favorite thing to do when it comes to them is watch like variety and compilation things because they are freaking funny. That’s another way to get to know the names and faces is by the sense of humor. But yeah nct is a good one to get into. I feel like with nct you will find something you like. It may not be all of it. But you will find some kind of type of music that you like. I don’t really like nct dream music but to me there sense of humor is what does it for me. I think you will like these groups once you get in to them a tad more.

Most NCT 127 songs need to be listened more than once before you get the "bullseye" feeling especially for new listeners. 😅 but in time, you'll get that 30-second bullseye moment as you get used to their music. 😁 And oh by the way, NCT 127's trademark is their experimental music. They are the embodiment of neo music.

The full english version of Highway to Heaven has more harmonies of the songs played here. SM, their agency is known for choosing vocals that are diverse within a group. Heachan, pink hair has a more nasal tone, Taeil wonderful all around, Doyoung piercing. Their stacked tones are harmonic in some ways too. But for Harmonies you need to listen to EXO start with Mama, or the ladies of Mamamoo (who sadly disbanded this year)

I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but towards the end of Lemonade, you said the guy at the end (Johnny) had a wide range because he rapped in the beginning of the video but now he has a bit of falsetto. That was Doyoung (black jacket, black sweater vest with red heart). Johnny was doing the low range while Doyoung was doing the higher range, same as in Highway to Heaven earlier in the video.

I stil think Lemonade is a rip off of Volcano(a nct 2020 song).
They are known as male choir since TOUCH era (2018) amongs their fans. When this killing voice drop Korean netizen (fans and non-fans) calling them as male choir group. International fans calling them "Glee club" because whatever they doing in their contents, those videos always have them singing in harmonize just for fun.
