Sorry, my mistake! I remember reading something about him being Chinese on a kpop profile site and I might have remembered it wrong! I fact checked it and I'll address it next NCT reaction!

NCT LITERALLY POPULARISED NOIZE / NEO SOUND IN KPOP. No one was doing it but now every 4th gen bgs make noise music. But their discography has so many contemporary RnB gems n im a sucker for it
NCT the blue print. Their style, music, the switch ups, choreo, vocals We fans say that theyre “ neo” to describe their music and vibe They have been killing it since 2016!
Probably the reason why you couldn't help to compare Straykidz and NCT coz their music (title tracks) are a little bit similar. However before Straykids there was NCT. And NCT was the one who popularized the Noise music in kpop and the switchups in a song (although SM has been doing that since 2013, If i'm not mistaken)
i feel like the main difference for me in their title tracks is that NCT put more emphasis on vocals rather than skz on the beat / beatdrop nct has more rnb parts and skz more pop rap and nct like to chant together or sing together (but it's mainly an SM thing) and they always have a dance break but they both focus on performance and choreo
NCT the epitome of cool and their experimental neo songs then switches up to the most beautiful rnb song you've ever heard in a group, no one can top it
Sounds like Josh needs some Killing Voice! NCT (all units) have some great R&B b-sides. I recommend Dreams Come True, Gold Dust, Back 2 U, Focus, Dreamer, I.O.U., and the iconic From Home. For Teddy Riley-produced songs I recommend EXO-What is Love, and Call Me Baby. Fun reaction!
@@HASHTAGELEVATEDactually he have Chinese ethnicity because many people who lives in Thailand now came from China. So their ancestors came to Thailand but we can't say them Chinese because they don't have that Chinese culture among them anymore they are like pure Thai. I am not 100% sure.

It is a reason that you think you hear a New Jack sound on NCT’s (and other SM artists) songs. Below is an excerpt from an article I read in Rolling Stone. Claude Kelly, who has helped craft Grammy-nominated singles for Bruno Mars, Tamia and Ledisi, earned his first publishing deal as a songwriter in 2007. Around the same time, he started to notice dispiriting new constraints in R&B writing sessions. The genre was paring down rapidly to keep pace with hip-hop, deemphasizing melodic complexity and embracing the austere loops and rhythmic cadences that often imbue rap with pummeling power. As a result, Kelly remembers, “Suddenly, I didn’t have to write a bridge anymore.” R&B was a genre that was welcomed in South Korea and one of the first to make the trip to South Korea was Teddy Riley. Flying out in 2009 and establishing a sideline as a New Jack Swing savant for Girls Generation and Jay Park. After years of producing and a huge portfolio under his arm, Teddy found his way to SM Entertainment and has produced a few megahits for the record labels artists SNSD,, EXO, SHINee, and f(x). Another early K-pop convert was Harvey Mason Jr., who once penned hits for Mario, Toni Braxton and Justin Timberlake. He has written for BoA, SHINee, TVXQ and EXO, among others. www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/how-american-rb-songwriters-found-a-new-home-in-k-pop-627643/ The current biggest US producer that makes hits for SM is Dem Jointz (producer of NCT 127 - Kick It.)
