What a disgraceful judicial system. The evidence was there all along. How on earth does this happen? May all of this monster's victims RIP. Such sad needless waste of time, contributing to these deaths.
I already watched this story from another UA-cam channel, but I wanted to watch it again, since you are, for me, the best storyteller in all of the channels of the same genre, how you organize and tell the story of a case, the victims, and the suspects/killers. Great job as always. Merry Christmas to you!

The Cook County DA that had DNA evidence from under the victims fingernails, and didn't issue an indictment, has 100% responsibility for every murder committed after that.
Sorry but that's ignorant and ridiculous. Do you realize how many people would be wrongly jailed and in prison if the police and prosecutors charged immediately whenever dna evidence comes back? Yeah, the DNA was the killers in this case but that alone wouldn't have convicted him or even held him in jail. Any defense attorney would have torn that DNA evidence apart and the prosecutors knew that and didnt want to risk the killer getting off.
Its not really that simple. Yes they found his DNA, but they needed enough evidence to get a conviction. If they arrested him with only the DNA which could be explained away by just every day contact the two had, then a jury would most likely find him not guilty. And he'd walk free and be unable to be charged with the crime again. Im sure it wasnt an easy decision for the prosecutor
I honestly don't understand how you don't have more subscribers. When it comes to True Crime (esp on UA-cam) you are by far the best channel. You are always respectful and do your research impeccably (from what I can tell). Merry Christmas to everyone! And happy holidays to those of you who don't celebrate.
Subscriber count is irrelevant. Someone could have 4 million subscribers but if only a small fraction of them are active, then what use are the rest 🤷♀️ It's about the views and people don't need to be subscribed to watch.
I've always been told, and I've taught my children, that if they're ever in that sort of situation, dig your nails in, so the police will have DNA evidence and if you're ever kidnapped, try and touch every single surface possible and if you can, yank out some hair and leave it wherever, that way they will have your fingerprints and DNA and be able to catch the bãstård
Jesus what a horrible thing to tell your kids. How about just look after then and be vigilant. Your basically telling them your gonna die so leave evidence. What a terrible way to parent.
@@cassiusnoyb6499 you obviously don’t have any children…..can you honestly say that if you or someone you loved was in a situation like that you would rather just not have been told what to do and not to be “prepared “ but sweetie REALITY goes a long long way and telling your kids the TRUTH and not sugar coating anything is most definitely what you should do with your kids!

Its very important to add. Ashton lied to the police and he did go onto ashleys and saw her dead and called his managing team on what to do. Why is everyone covering this story not mentioning this?
You two are absolutely brilliant in the way you present the case. Always so respectful towards the victims and always just stating the relevant facts. Another well presented case. Thank you.
It's because Ashton Kutcher lying to not tarnish his image is how the defense team gave a doubt in the case. He went inside and found her body. @angelanolan1585 The court testimony that could have happened of Jane Doe recounting how she told the police the same night in Feb 2001 what she allegedly overheard Ashton say to Danny would've helped out tremendously. When was it again that she told of this alleged speakerphone conversation to the LAPD? I'm sure she has a copy of the police report she so valiantly made that night back in Feb of 2001. We can call it a hero's report. She did what's right and said I care more about doing the proper and moral thing than not rocking the boat so I can continue to have Danny spend money on me. She should be so proud of herself. Prosecutors in LA already were firmly connecting the dots about who the real suspect in the 1993 and 2001 murders was by 2003 at the latest, and so who were all of the people really who allegedly kicked the can down the road of bringing these cases to justice and preventing more murders from happening?

I’ve never heard of this case, but TC did another wonderful detailed video telling the victims stories. Such a sick man, if only they had put him away in the start , so many lives wouldn’t have been taken. And Ashton is one of my fav actors bc of that 70s show and I never knew he dated/was seeing someone who was found murdered, hopefully it didn’t affect him knowing later he found her body and that wasn’t wine it was blood. Also thank goodness they ruled him out bc what if they had thought it was him being he was the last one there and had fingerprints on door. Just a thought I’ve seen several people get charged with something they didn’t do. Maybe I think to deep into it idk. But Good thing the sick individual was caught.
Ashton Kutcher is a good man. He's currently the head of a nonprofit organization fighting child/human trafficking. That's actually why he's not in a lot of movies anymore.
Ashton said he didn't discover her body. He said he thought he saw something that looked like red wine and then thought she was angry at him for being late and went on to the party without her
@@lorir5728 the police department confirmed he did lie. He saw the body. He was in there. His lies made it to where the killer wasn't prosecuted. He sat in her driveway for an hour with "his team" and Danny Masterson. Was instructed to leave and go to the party with said story as he said in court. This all came out from one the victimes who dated him during that time when Kutcher called Masterson. She has since put that notion on blast. It has been confirmed by LAPD that he did lie and all those details. Why the killer was able to kill again then attempt murder. If he would've called 911 then they would've been faster on it and a woman wouldn't be dead. They had plans it it happened before he arrived to take her out. Yes, Ashton has done good since then but I'm not sure if he's trying to make amends for what he did.
People are saying he lied and did go inside and find her body but instead of calling the cops he called his friend who told him to stay out of it. So which is it?
This is crazy.... I was thinking just 2 days ago that from all the crime channels I hadn't seen this case being covered, only from what I read about it over the years
They could've had him the second time but Ashton Kutcher lied. LAPD confirmed it. He actually went in and found her. Hour phone call in her driveway with Masterson and "his team". Her body would have still been warn. But he went to he party and lied. He let someone else find her the next day.

Biggest understatement you could make, but don't worry, none of the Police lost their jobs, they all got to go home to their families. Sick and tired of hearing about Police incompetence and lazy ass Policing time and time again, it's just incomprehensible & totally REPREHENSIBLE.
This is so well produced I initially thought I was watching a TV documentary. As others have said I also appreciate your respectful tone when speaking of the victims, you present the facts without sensationalising. I am stunned that this despicable psychopath was not arrested from the very beginning. At the very least having been found near the scene of several murders, surely the police could have placed a watch on him. You would also think with the high profile Hollywood stars acquainted with Ashley that there would have been a bit of momentum going towards solving the case. I hate to say this, but as much as I dislike the trial by public opinion, I think if it happened today there would be so much social media interest and paparazzi chasing Ashton that it would only take a short time till people started noting MG’s involvement. I still cannot get over how this guy was left to walk the streets with all this evidence against him. It just boggles the mind. Those poor women would still be alive today. Anyway, thank you for your hard work in putting such a classy and respectful production together.
I want to thank you for the most interesting content I found on UA-cam! Merry Christmas to you, your families and loved ones! Stay safe! Greetings from Romania ☺️
You have sooo much respect for the victims and it's really refreshing compared to "That Chapter", he is a narcisstist who makes lighthearted jokes while discussing murder which i absolutely loathe. Thank you for being a better person with morality around these cases.
11:44 explain this to me, police needed a warrant to get the dna sample from the guy, but when he went to the hospital they just got it secrety from there, no biggie? How does the law work exactly? Police can go to the hospital and just get any dna sample they want?
It's possible that it wasn't blood or tissue; but something used to gather his samples that was discarded - even a water bottle could have his DNA, so you can't assume it was illegal - his defense would have had that thrown out
For me I was in a car when I was told and I froze up, then asked questions about the situation, then got drive thru, then walked in the front door, then my knees buckled and my reaction was like the mom, I was on my hands and knees like an animal, and it was late at night at my bf's house so I was just silently wailing to not wake them up.
Ashton was a coward. He lied. He went into the apartment and saw her body. When he saw her dead body he called his Scientology friends, not the police or an ambulance. They all agreed that he should just leave and go to the party and stay out of it. He was more concerned about his career. He actually went to a party afterwards!! Unforgivable to me.
I have no doubt he committed - or at the very least attempted - other murders. When you look at the four women's faces near the end of the video & look at his years of attack and the pattern, there has to be a victim around 1997. If not several more in all the years he was free.
Another stellar job girls! The lone survivor of this monster & a crucial part of how she was able to do it (besides her resisting fully & fighting w/all she had) needs to be a valuable lesson for all ladies!!! While it's generally accepted men tend to have greater upper body strength, the polar opposite can often be said for women's lower body including your hips, buttocks, & thighs! Not only that, they are the strongest muscles in your body so if attacked & you don't have a weapon on your person (you should!) use them as weapons to your advantage! I truly believe this killer is a total coward. Up until this last victim he'd easily overwhelmed these women w/his upper body strength. Then despite just 5'1" she resists fully grappling w/him to the floor on her back, & uses a method well regarded in self-defense circles of feet together cocking legs close to her body & pushing off w/all her might. I think the sudden & explosive power this maneuver provides he did not expect from such a petite woman & like any coward preying on the "easy" it scared him off. FWIW, a similar tactic is used by Raptors(like hawks & owls) as a last resort against ANY threat if they cannot escape. They lay on their back w/those vise-like feet & deadly talons in a protective position ready to strike like a snake. Do not underestimate this as your go-to weapon against an attacker ladies! Keep in mind, one well-placed kick on your back like this can knock your attacker clean out or seriously injure them. They want no more, & it'll give you chance to escape to safety!
Not all women are "fit", like the victims of this disgusting killer. Also, he may have attacked from the back too. And don't forget the psychological factor that's not easy to control: fight/flight/froze. It made me remind one of the victims of the Colorado and Washington serial rapist, who throw herself from her window and even broke several bones on the fall to avoid being raped. Every woman is different. Michelle is not only a survivor, she's a fighter and she's the one who was able to make justice for the other victims.
Hey, sissies, just wanted to wish you two a Merry Christmas and to thank you for all of your hard work this year in producing these top-notch videos!! Your stellar channel absolutely deserves all of its success!! 🎅🤶🎄☃🎁
Hey there, you left a lovely remark for the sisters, but, thought I should let you know that sissies or sissy is not short for sisters. In fact, sissy is a slightly insulting term in English. It means a cry-baby, or weak, or an effeminate male. I’m sure the sisters will realise from the context that you meant just to abbreviate the word sisters. But, I thought I would just let you know, in case you use that word in future by mistake. By the way, though, your English is perfect, other than that little mistake. (I’m not trying to be the grammar police here, just hopefully giving you a friendly, helpful tip)
I hope they find the other victims. Prayers for Michelle, the 4 children and husband and all parents and siblings of the victims. That monster will at least stay where he is now.✌❤
I really appreciate the lack of glitz in these true crime stories…. The calm strong narrative voice is all that is needed to tell the sorry sad sick way the lives of these victims and loved ones were destroyed.
It took them 15 years and FOUR murders to get this guy!? That is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable when they had his dna the whole time!! I always hear about how the cps/police mess up alllll the time in la!!
Serial killers usually don't get caught because of the detective work so much as the serial killer getting sloppy and reckless. Many of them don't think they will ever get caught and it only takes 1 survivor to end their luck.
Ashton actually went into the house and saw she was dead. He didn't call the police because he thought it could hurt his career. As a result of his selfishness, other women were killed instead of possibly having the killer caught that night. Great job, Kelso. You've made the world a better place with your stellar career as a prankster.
Thanks to Ashton and his lies (his team and Danny Masterson) he was not prosecuted and then the killer murdered another girl. He got caught with an attempted murder. @@orvil9223 The gigabrain theories usually mention that it was impossible to see any blood on the floor from the side windows. I'm dumbfounded time and again that defense lawyers work so hard to get their clients off despite knowing the client is as guilty as hell. They realize that if they succeed, their client will return to the streets to continue their killing spree.
I always have the same problem with defense attorneys. No decent, honest individual would stand behind heinous murderes. That in my eyes almost makes them accomplices. Professional liers at the least.

@@yesyoureright rejoice in the knowledge of how smart you are. That, however, does not change the fact that most defense lawyers are accomplices thus criminals. Everywhere in the world. You sound like you'd make a good one!
A lawyer has to do their job. Every person in the US gets a fair trial no matter what. If the lawyers don’t try hard enough the defendant can ask for an appeal. Lawyers don’t want to lose cases or else they won’t get more jobs.
This might sound bizarre, but the details they gave about how these women were killed-sexually assaulted, stabbed multiple times and their throats cut almost to the point of decapitation, and the lack of much dna evidence sounds so much like how Martina “Tina” McMenamin, was killed in Lincoln, NE, that remains unsolved. She dated my aunt’s brother, Karl Nekola, and she babysat me and my cousins sometimes. Gregory Gabel was initially charged and convicted based on DNA from two sole strands of blonde hairs in her hands, but later found to be inaccurate and he was released, so it is now a cold case

How tragic that this monster was allowed to carry on these horrifying murders even after his DNA was found? This must make it even more painful for poor families.
The story about Ashton has changed. He is a creeper. Apparently he saw her body and was more concerned about his career. Could he have saved her? Maybe, probably not. Chrissy Bixlsr has a story.

So sad that the cops knew he was a killer, and couldn't warn people who lived near him, like the mom of 4? There has to be a way to let people know what kind of person lived there.
whhile it would ofcaurse be ideal, it would also ruin inosents lifes, imagine Ashton would have been accused and the police called everyone who lived close to where he moved. he would not be able to live a life despite not having done anything. the law is set to not punish those who cant be proven guillty without a reasonable doubt as to not ruin the life of the inosent

I had no idea they were sisters! How cool ❤
@@unropednope4644 NOPE!! The only ignorant one here is you. SMH 🙄
@@unropednope4644 thank you.
This beast was allowed to kill. Not once but several. How many broken lives are left to mourn...
Someone could have 4 million subscribers but if only a small fraction of them are active, then what use are the rest 🤷♀️
It's about the views and people don't need to be subscribed to watch.
Me too. But it just sucks that this world has gotten so bad that we even have to have those conversations so sad

It is the biggest breakthrough of the 21st century.
It’s a marvellous invention until used for nefarious purposes…like obtaining it without consent in the absence of a crime even being committed. PCR tests by example. 🤔

I'm so furious that the DA refused to proceed with the DNA evidence from the first case. They could have saved two lives. By the way, I have never seen such a good looking but thoroughly unattractive guy like Micheal. He has good looks but there's just something repulsive about him. Creepy. He did not age well.
Cops are pretty notorious for walking into crime scenes and jacking everything up. Not on purpose but they are pretty sloppy.
You can thank Ashton Kutcher for tainting the crime scene and lying to the police so they couldn't go after the killer.
To each their own. I wouldn't give him a second look.
I don't think he's ever been good looking. He looked dead when you look at his eyes.... just nothing there...
You can't judge people by their looks. There are some really good people out there who are ugly. There are some very physically attractive people who are evil.
I really love your videos. I’ve become quite addicted to watching them! Thank you so much for being so genuine and kind to the victims family’s whilst sharing the story. I love your voice too!
Thank you.
The prosecutor should be charged with murder for allowing this monster to walk free! His DNA is on 2 murder victims and he was allowed to walk free!!
families should sue this inept goofball
It's because Ashton Kutcher lying to not tarnish his image is how the defense team gave a doubt in the case. He went inside and found her body. Was in the driveway taking to Masterson and other ppl of his "team"...he didn't just look in the window. He left her body for someone else to find the next day. Her body would've still be warm.

11:44 explain this to me, police needed a warrant to get the dna sample from the guy, but when he went to the hospital they just got it secrety from there, no biggie? How does the law work exactly? Police can go to the hospital and just get any dna sample they want?
Came here for this comment -- I'm thinking there's some steps in that process missing
How does HIPPA Law figure into that I wonder. Regardless he deserves to rot in prison.
Looks like hippa has flown out the window last 3 years
It's possible that it wasn't blood or tissue; but something used to gather his samples that was discarded - even a water bottle could have his DNA, so you can't assume it was illegal - his defense would have had that thrown out
Evidence obtained illegally is not admissible in court, so it is useless when it comes to an actual conviction

It is weird how our knees buckle in that moment we hear the news. Happened to me too. It is like the loss is too heavy to bare.
Well put

@@blklagoon76it's true he called Danny Masterson about it. On speaker phone for over an hr sitting outside her house
I have no doubt he committed - or at the very least attempted - other murders. When you look at the four women's faces near the end of the video & look at his years of attack and the pattern, there has to be a victim around 1997. If not several more in all the years he was free.
Great upload, excellent narration and a very merry Xmas everyone from me in 🏴
Another stellar job girls!

Serial killers usually don't get caught because of the detective work so much as the serial killer getting sloppy and reckless. Many of them don't think they will ever get caught and it only takes 1 survivor to end their luck.

I'm surprised there wasn't more info about Ashtons insolvent in this case. He had entered the house, saw her dead and returned to his car where he sat for an hour on the phone before leaving it unreported to authorities. Sick.
Absolutely disgusting.
That's the kind of people who defend rapists, like he and unfortunately Mila Kunis did.
Because there's no way to confirm that happened, and I am sure these people are sticking to what was testified to in court.
Plus, this story isn't about Ashton.
@@orvil9223 The gigabrain theories usually mention that it was impossible to see any blood on the floor from the side windows. In the first 10ish mins in this video you can see the angles where it's possible pretty easily.
In all likelihood the police just verified the footprints from outside and excluded footprints on the inside. Guessing no fingerprints anywhere inside etc.
Weird conspiracy where Ashton doesn't bother wiping the prints from the door knob/handle and then proceeds to report himself to the police the next day because reasons.
Also things like phone records and corroborating his timeline. Basic police stuff.
May God bless all of these families with peace, so sorry for all of your loss Amen 🙏 ❤
I'm dumbfounded time and again that defense lawyers work so hard to get their clients off despite knowing the client is as guilty as hell. They realize that if they succeed, their client will return to the streets to continue their killing spree.
And I hate that white hair lawyer.
I always have the same problem with defense attorneys. No decent, honest individual would stand behind heinous murderes. That in my eyes almost makes them accomplices. Professional liers at the least.
You seriously cannot be that thick in not understanding why a defense lawyer takes the job? My god don't you know your own countries laws and democracy?
@@yesyoureright rejoice in the knowledge of how smart you are. That, however, does not change the fact that most defense lawyers are accomplices thus criminals. Everywhere in the world. You sound like you'd make a good one!
A lawyer has to do their job. Every person in the US gets a fair trial no matter what.
If the lawyers don’t try hard enough the defendant can ask for an appeal.
Lawyers don’t want to lose cases or else they won’t get more jobs.
Wow I went to FIDM in 2007 in la and lived in West Hollywood… this hit too close to home 🖤
Merry Christmas 🎄
Prayers for the families and the victims
This video is outstanding! You guys ladies have done such a professional job
I watch these videos a lot about innocent victims, young ladies , because my only child, a daughter, and her daughter, all grown up, my only grandchild live in S. California, And I m in the Midwest. Far away. Both beautiful young, and both sweethearts. So many predators out there
Too many. 😢
Michael Gargiulo is the worst form of coward there is because he won't admit he's guilty and deserves the sentence he was given. He did everything he was tried for so he should just be a "man" and accept it. My deepest condolences and sympathies go to all the families and friends of all the victims of this no good coward.
Because of Ashton's lies cops weren't able to persecute Michael Gargiulo and he went on to kill again a few years later... Ashton Kutcher is DISGUSTING and I hope that the family of the 3rd victim will sue him
I believe Chrissie Carnell.
Hello Truly, I absolutely love your channel, and you have the BEST voice on YT by the way and Happy New Year...I was going to share this one, but for some reason the thumbnail isn't coming up...
So it turned out that Ashton Kutcher lied and the cops knew it, he did enter the home and saw Ashley lying on the floor in a pool of blood but decided to not report it because he was worried it would have affected his career negatively, apparently he still wasn't famous back then but his career was blooming and he didn't want to be known as "the actor who found his gf murdered" or something.. what a scumbag
I don't believe this for a second. It was confirmed that the door was locked by the flatmate.
@@thehangingparsiple5692So you don't believe Chrissie Carnell?
@@thehangingparsiple5692: Aston Kutcher said to friends He did see her on the floor dead! It's fact!👎🖕😎
@@alfredwillems9121who cares, he didnt murder her, plus he didn't know at the time if the real murderer left any dna, they couldve tried to pin the murder on him, thats a horrible scene to see
R.i.P🙏🏾
Prayers up for family and friends
that michelle was very brave to do what she did, this guy had been under the police radar for years and yet nothing was done about it, those poor girls who didnt survive must have been so scared rip to them all
it sounds like this guy has some sort of personality disorder, making up stories, being obsessed with ted bundy, he was one messed up guy and i cant believe it took 15 years for them to finally pit him to trial ! how can the defence stand there and say there is no evidence he killed ashley, he was known to her, he was stalking her, showing up wherever she was,
