Oh man that is amazing. That is French racing blue if I ever saw it. Reminds me of a Bugatti Type 35. What a watch! 😍

Yeah I’ve had my eyes on it for a while but $40K is way too much for an etabblasage (?) manufacture. Very nice but I’m not spending that much on a freaking watch. $30K is my absolute limit

@@Doggo-frencton While that is certainly a valid opinion to have I don't subscribe to it myself. I don't see the need to put artificial limitations on the watches I can enjoy for reasons that have nothing to do with the end product itself. It'd be the same of not buying a Bugatti, to continue with the theme, because its just two Audi V8s bolted together.
At the end of the day you're getting an incredible product, IMO who cares what the ownership status of the companies who produced the parts are. You could even argue that a firm like La Fabrique Du Temps makes a better movement for an LF than some thing they made in house because of the talent and manufacturing prowess they have as well as their ability to provide service and parts in the event that LF closes up shop.
I don't know everything there is to know about horology but as far as I know LF is the absolute pinnacle of etablissage and I do think its a fair price for a world-class watch.

@@Doggo-frencton Man without substantial wealth has thoughts. How about you make an offer for $30K and see what they have to say. Your worse nightmare is if they say yes.

@@Nefville What do you say it is certainly a valid opinion? It is completely arbitrary based on how much money he may or may not have. It is the most common comment from people with limited disposable income who are so outside 1916's target audience that they might as well be on Mars.

Once you’re talking about LF and other almost-haute horologerie accuracy just doesn’t matter that much

Do us a favour please Tim.... when you wear a glove, put it on properly.... thanks 😅
But love all the videos..... all way way out of my price bracket.... but excellent to watch... even the watches I'd never wear.....

Extraordinary. Imagine if they had moser dials & tech.

Imagine if Moser didn’t machine-finish their movements. Then they could justify their obnoxious prices.

@@Doggo-frencton The justification for luxury watchmakers to charge obscene prices is that rich people with money to spend buy them. Nothing more, nothing less. Even the greatest watchmakers like Dufour outsource different things like cases, dials, hands/indices, and parts of movements.

    • @Doggo-frencton

@@xada2397are you arguing that moser spends just as many dollars/man hours as DuFour in finishing of their movements? Because if so, there’s no helping you.
Moser relies on cult of personality and influencers to justify their prices because the total lack of movement finish saves them a TON of money.
