thank u all for the nice comments!!!! i read them all and im happy yall got somethin outa this video even if u dont use csp lmao. the brushes i used are in the brushes panel
I have a question Derrek is there another way I can copy and paste? For example, select, copy and paste, a certain drawing part without duplicating layer or copying a whole frame.
ive always wanted to break into animating on csp but every tutorial is really long or really boring / technical wordy shit.., you make the process very simple and easy and your editing is very funny and entertaining. also holy shii as a textured pen user thank you for the color to transparency trick....life saver for sure. thank you so much for making this!
For anyone wondering, the texture pen he's using with the slight post-correction effect is called ざらつきペン改 I'm very proud that I was able to correctly type that into google translate so I thought I'd share hehe ( •́ ⩊ •̀ )
This channel is a goddamn goldmine. My hands were on my head when you talked about the WAV files holy fuck Also! Reffering to 4:11 you can rename and organize the layer names by heading to the animation folder and right clicking>edit track>rename in timeline order/layer order !!
I hate csp animation cause I found it difficult with its copy paste feature but thank you so much for making a tutorial that's easy and fun to watch. I owe you my life
i love your humour, like- the way you speak is super entertaining and engaging. honestly, you are so cool? like what the heck, derrek. i don't even use CSP but I'm here just to watch the video because you have DRAWN ME into this. have an awesome day and damn, you have QUALITY content. CONGRATS.
This is honestly the best tutorial I've seen. The "better" ones are usually really hard for me to understand and I have to watch it over and over but this video was not only super easy to understand but also very chill and entertaining at the same time.
FINALLY a tutorial that goes through everything and even includes tips for people transferring programs. Every video ive seen thus far has was by someone who has barely used the program and either didn't go enough in detail or has tried to pack all of the info into one section, and the infodumping doesnt give time to actually digest anything. This video was absolutely perfect, thank you so much! You saved my life, lol.
this is the FIRST i've HEARD about this WAV FILE NONSENSE WHAT ELSE HAVE THEY BEEN KEEPING FROM US also great tutorial! i had to learn a lot of this stuff the hard way myself, so this is gonna help a LOT of people
I just want to say that your video is honestly the most helpful one I've seen for animating in CSP! Entertaining yet still informative, without being confusing. This was such a pleasure to watch and learn from!!
I haven't finished the video but as soon as i do i'm gonna open clip studio for the first time in a year and animate something bc the way you explain stuff makes shit so much easier to understand
I had a small hope that this video addressed the audio issue and not only did you do that, you gave a *solution* and I owe you my life. I gave up doing audio animation because of the desync and lack of online help so I resonate with that section strongly. Thank you for the tutorial!
Thank you SO MUCH for making such a clear and interesting tutorial about clip studio animating!! I could never find a tutorial for it that I could understand/watch through to the end until now!!
First of all, i just wanna say you are so entertaining to watch! I came here from Twitter and instantly subscribed. you make things so simple and easy to understand and your editing style is so funny with the little doodles. I'm glad I found your vids ^^ Keep up the great work dude
I've been using csp for years but this was still so enlightening and also SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH you should make more videos they're so entertaining this is like the only tutorial ive genuinely enjoyed watching lol
Oh my gosh, I love this tutorial. It's actually entertaining and not super boring. It's really useful, and I stayed through the entire video. Thank you for saving my boredom
😭😭 YOUVE SAVED ME. tbh this was very well explained for me, its so simple and to the point and thats really what i needed. you give out so much info as well!! i didnt know how to copy and paste layers and i was about to cry lmao and the audio too! thank u so much for this video, genuinely 🙏
I watched five minutes and was confident enough to start animating, but something told me to come back to finish this video, which is rare for my ADHD ass to do, but the video is short enough for me to focus. So... Thank you for this tutorial! It actually helped a lot!
The lingo is what I found difficult about the other tutorials on UA-cam. I'm used to frames being the images, not just the timing elements. So none of the tutorials made sense until I understood that cells were the images, and frames were just timing. Knowing what people are talking about makes tutorials much easier to understand.
OMG I always thought that the reason the audio didn't sync was my computer being too old. Turns out it is able to do it. You have changed my life. I am beyond happy with new posibilities. Thank you so, so, so much.
Fantastic tutorial mixed with great humor appealing to artists and computer geeks alike (: I definitely should have picked up animation sooner because as it turns out after learning the basics of the timeline via your tutorial, I retained my understanding of movement from back when I was just a Flipnote Hatena animator. Really glad to get even more use out of my CLIP STUDIO Paint, and just in time to help my friend out with sprites for his project, tysm Derrek fantastic video!!!
For months, I've been struggling to find a CSP animation tutorial that's pretty easy to understand. Your video definitely helped me understand way more better with how the studio works, plus it was very entertaining and easy watch! Subscribed for the awesome content! :]
lmao, as someone who tried animating in photoshop for a small while and recently transitioned to Clip Studio Paint ... this was PERFECT. Thanks !!!!!!! this felt so targeted to my needs. simple, easy to digest, and a good intro to the tools and UI
Hello Derrek, your tutorial is really good and I learned alot from it. However for 9:32 , please note that you can have the color and lineart on the same layer, a new animation cel doesn't need to be one csp layer, it can also be a csp folder (as in the regular folders not animation ones). And you can have as many layers in your cel as you want, typically I will have line art, color, and shading layers in a cel. Not sure if this feature was added after the video but I think it was already there. 9:48 , you can edit frames while keyframes are active, you have to click the pencil next to the keyframe button, however its more limited so I never use it either. Thanks again and take care
No because this is actually great, all the other tutorials I watched just spoke in teacher to me and I couldn’t understand shit, you speak like a normal person and now I actually understand how it works so thanks :)
this is literally the most helpful csp animation tutorial ever and how my attention span lasts i could barely get thorough most tutorials thank you so much for this short straight forward tutorial ;V;
this is a very approachable and sweet and silly tutorial i feel really comfortable listening and learning!!!! eek!! this is my first time EVER animating and this was super helpful thank you !!!! :,)
Amazing video, thank you very much. I tried fiddling around with CSP's animation functionality for the first time the other day (googling things as they came up) your video is my first one I've watched for it :)
Since I've dropped Adobe, CSP has been slowly becoming an extension of me, and the more I learn about this program, the more I love it. The fact that you can use 3D imports in this program and that there's a huge store at the price they charge you makes it so much better than Photoshop. This program is an example of how being a jack of all trades master of none is better when your pricing is affordable.
OMG THANK YOU. I've been trying for HOURS now to understand why the layers weren't being LAYERS and no one explained that the folders act more as layers. I was struggling so hard and was ready to pull my hair out man.
My small brain probably can't retain most of this, but I KNOW WHERE I CAN GO BACK AND RELEARN NOW NO MORE LONG TUTORIALS NO MORE FALLING ASLEEP DURING SAID LONG TUTORIALS NO MORE CRYING OVER NOT KNOWING HOW THINGS WORK this is a godsend.......... thank you.
Soooo thank you for this tutorial because I've watched like 5 of them and yours is the only one I understood. Simple, clear, concrete. You earned a subscription
Subscribed immediately after you taught me that C is a shortcut for transparency. Amazing. Spectacular. Brilliant. Also a great tutorial about how to use the animation tools. I'm gonna play around and make a gif today, I think. Thanks!
Waaaah, thank you so much!!! This is actually super helpful!!! The way you explain is nice and simple and you're also really funny so it really helped my dumbass comprehend everything perfectly! I've tried to watch other tutorials but they all seemed so big or they were too long or i just couldn't pay attention, but this one was just perfect!!! I'll totally be rewatching this when i get back to animating again!!!
I loved this video a lot!!! You really have a skill for writing entertaining videos and while you seemed to think you didn't do too well near the end there I was thoroughly impressed the whole way through and learned a lot from this!!!
thank u all for the nice comments!!!! i read them all and im happy yall got somethin outa this video even if u dont use csp lmao. the brushes i used are in the brushes panel

edit; i realize you were talking about the brushes panel in the video. i dont know how to read Japanese qwq

I have a question Derrek is there another way I can copy and paste? For example, select, copy and paste, a certain drawing part without duplicating layer or copying a whole frame.
