Decades after their legendary 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament clash, Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso find themselves on opposite ends of life's spectrum. A down-on-his-luck Johnny attempts redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting his old rivalry with the now-successful Daniel. This, however, reignites old tensions and ignites a new generation of fighters.
Cobra Kai, created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, is a sequel to the beloved Karate Kid films. Originally a UA-cam Red/Premium series, it shifted to Netflix for later seasons. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and takes place roughly between 2017 and 2019.
The show offers a fresh perspective on the "Miyagi-verse" through Johnny's eyes. It explores the consequences of unresolved conflict and the complexities of good versus bad. While Johnny and Daniel remain the central characters, the series also features a talented young cast including Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, and Jacob Bertrand. Familiar faces from the Karate Kid films, like Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith, also return.

Totally agree with you. It would be a very strange decision not to pay attention to this phrase and somehow not play with it in season 6. It would be great if it was Hawk who won, confirming to everyone who doubted his victory in season 4 that he is the best fighter.
I so tired of Sam being over looked she took down Miguel on their first date without actively practicing in years. I don’t believe tori is better than her I just believe her training with Johnny she never had a teacher who taught her to use her aggression. In that match to see who was the female captain she was going to win before they stopped tori.

Well Cobra Kai is no longer classed as an ‘American’ dojo because it’s Korean with Sensei Kim’s students and Kreese went to Korea.

I expect in part 2 Daniel and Johnny reconcile so Miyagi-Do can work well. I hope Daniel finds the mystery of what Mr. Miyagi past.

Daniel knows the pain of losing a parents his dad was sick and remember what he told Mr Miyagi in Karate kid 2 He held his fathers hand and said goodbye and said that his father always did everything for him and he didn’t do anything for His dad which means he has anger for not Doing anything for his dad before he was dying and then Mr Miyagi was in the hospital sick so I’m sure Daniel was angry that Mr Miyagi was sick and he couldn’t do anything but watch mr Miyagi get sicker and eventually die yes Julie also lost a parents so she can definitely relate to Tory and help Her control her anger and show her Miyagi do helped with controlling the anger. I WOULD LOVE FOR SCENE WHERE JULIE SHOWS UP AND HER AND DANIEL TALK TO TORY ABOUT ANGER AND DANIEL TELLS TORY HOW HIS FATHER GOT SICK AND HOW HE HELD HIS HAND WHEN HE DIED AND REGRETTED NOT DOING THINGS FOR HIS DAD AND RELIVING THAT WHEN MR MIYAGI GOT SICK AND HAD TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL AND JULIE TELLS HER HOW SHE LOST A PARENT AND THAT MR MIYAGI HELPED HER WITH HER GREIF AND TO CONTROL HER ANGER BY LEARNING MIYAGI DO AND THAT IT MADE HER FEEL LIKE A NEW PERSON. I think Demetri gets hurt by Kwon and it brings him and Hawk together. Then Hawk gets some revenge for him by fighting Kwon outside of the tournament perhaps?

Part 1 was pretty good but hate the writers for nerfed Kenny and making Devon a whiny little bitch, makes no damn sense to have Tory rejoin Cobra Kai, stupid decision

Dojos can be from the same country - Miyagi Do and Cobra Kai qualified qualified while both were in the US.

@@levycarlier4139 yes the new one does but before Silver was incarcerated, both American dojos were set to compete. Even if that weren’t the case, there is nothing to suggest “one dojo per country” as far as I know.
I’m pretty sure we already have 16 dojos, so it would be a perfect tournament.

Here's my theory, I think the writers made Tory and Robby do that promise on purpose I don't think they just like wrote it there it has to have a bigger effect. I think maybe in the next fave parts or kinda towards the end of the sekai taikai Tory will find out something about kreese that will make her angry she'll go back to rbby, talk to him, and hopefully she will rejoin md (I do think she will rejoin becuz on the cobra Kai channel a little while back in the cast welcome to the official cobra Kai channel u can see them behind the set of the sekai taikai and Peyton was wearing the white md attire) so I do think she will rejoin and Robby and Tory will work together/get back together towards the end of the sekai taikai and keep their promise (I think it just means something) but I do think before all that they will have some awkward moments and kwon might try to get between them (maybe he likes Tory)plus they are each other's strength and weekness but all I'm positive about is that keenry will be endgame!! Pretty positive about all this lol

I Duno but they are setting it up for Robby to win this tournament. Him having flashbacks of being in 2nd twice n coming back to beat Miguel to become captain. U could say arguably Robby has always been the best fighter of them. First time he lost because of a cheap shot. Johnny will have bragging rights because he can say both his sons are champs. I don’t know about the co ed pairs but it’s a safe bet to say Robby is winning on the boys under 18 side.
@@FMD023William Zabka himself said that Johnny's strength in going into the tournament is his son Robby. It was even stated that if Robby's determined and focused he's unstoppable and all the cast agreed without hesitation. I overheard Xolo said that Robby's fighting abilities helped leveled up all the other Miyagi do characters.
@@tahjbrown7471 Robby imo is the best fighter of them all. The two he lost to were fluke. Him beating Miguel down 0-2 to make caption told me everything. It’s gonna be a father and son redemption. It’s gonna be a tear jerker when Johnny can finally be right beside his son when he wins. It took Robby’s dedication to Daniels miyagi do style to finally show Johnny that side. I hope the writers have Johnny become the full time sensei to Daniel can ride off into the sunset as he said this was his swan song. FYI, In real life they said xolo was the one that actually came in this series knowing the most martial arts of all the cast members

They need to edit Part 2 and have it mostly consist of flashback scenes before the Sekai Taikai as well as showing the ending scene of Episode 5 in Episode 8. Like they still have more to tell before the tournament.
I hope that if Johnny actually brings back his Cobra Kai, Sam and all the other Myagi students will join in, because Robby knows that. But basically I care about Sam the most. She has a lot more experience than the other heroes, because she was trained since she was a child. Cobra Kai could make her even tougher than Tory. Even the teachings of the Eagle Fang have shown that she is strong. Ps. I hope that Daniel and Amanda adopt Tory and Brandon. That way Anothy will have a brother, and Sam and Tory will be sisters. Not true that all competing dojos have to come from different countries. Both Miyagi Fang and Silver's Cobra Kai were selected for the Sekai Taikai in season 5.

In a way, Season 5 even predicted duo fighting. Cobra Kai's "Leader/Follower" drills with Kenny & Kyler, and Tory & Devon. I'm curious to see how well Tory translates those lessons to her new team, and how well Kwon and Yoon can adapt to that kind of situation. Of course, Miyagi-Do has a bit of an advantage, seeing as they've been team fighting since S2 (wheel technique).
Yes they definitely teased this in season 5, also the way in which the show has established duos since season 1 and how they’ve all grown together. It fits the tournament well!

Hawk and Demetri are unbalanced, if and when they are paired as a duo (it’s inevitable, especially since they never let Johnny or Daniel know about their feud) I believe one of them will get seriously injured. Its been rumoured that Kwon injures someone so I’d put my money on it being Hawk or Demetri. Maybe Hawk is more susceptible as Demetri has found a new confidence, and as mentioned, Hawk is very unbalanced right now

It’s gonna be poetic redemption for both father and son. It took Miguel to show Johnny how to care again and Robby to show Johnny that it’s ok to embrace miyagi do style. The writers know what they are doing. It’s gonna be a tear jerker moment when Robby is standing there next to his dad as a champ. Cobra Kai has really good writing it’s gonna be exciting to see. I’m really hoping that Hilary swank makes a cameo. She is the last missing piece to all the OG characters. Remember, she was the NEXT karate kid train by Mr Miyagi. In the interview, they asked Ralph about her and he gave a suspect look like he knows something.

Terry Silver did say that he did have a lot of allies so that is a real possibility that Silver has Miyagi Do outnumbered or outmatched against the Miyagi Do fighters and I think Terry Silver is playing chess with Miyagi Do at Sekai Taikai tournament.
Someone else had a theory that Terry silver buys Iron Dragons, after getting or escaping out of jail. He also hired goon/fighter Axel K. (You can find his full name on IMDb) to flirt with Sam. There is a video going around of Sam on the beach with another boy so maybe?

I have a lot of questions. How did Cobra Kai from Reseda all of the sudden get accepted as a S Korean dojo? Did Johnny and Daniel think that Cobra Kai wouldn't be at Seikai Tekai? Cobra Kai brought out 4 fighters. Who are the other two?
I am guessing that Cobra Kai got accepted by the board of the Seikai Tekai due to the influence of Master Kim Sung Yung and his long history of teaching. Also, with all of the efforts Daniel and Johnny put into training their students for the tournament, I would think that neither of them anticipated Kreese coming back with Kim Da- Eun and her students from Korea. Not sure off the top of my head who the other two fighters for Cobra Kai are, though I have a feeling we will find out soon enough when the second half of the season arrives in the fall.

@@flaco4ever905 That’s a great point. The Cobra Kai that got accepted was Terry Silver’s Cobra Kai. I assume even with the new Korean fighters they’d just bring them in and lie/just say they’re from their dojo. Not sure how or why change the country of origin. Kinda confusing.

So every dojo in the Sekai Taikai is from a different country. They only made an exception for Miyagi-Do as they said in S5 they’d be an interesting addition to the Sekai Taikai tournament.

He was ashamed of him, and he would also be a bad example for the young kid. Han also might be the one take part to the tournament and got hurt, that could explain the issue with the leg. Myiagi would never compete in a tournament and most important he would never lie.
