PLEASE READ: I unfortunately received a whole bunch of stupid copyright claims from Sony a day later after uploading this video all whilst getting traction. Initially, it was one claim but more parts got claimed, and I really don’t want cut most parts of the review. Because of this I might have to delete this video at some point, but by the time Part 2 comes out I’ll upload a video revisiting Part 1 and predicting Part 2.
Its not even worth it anymore. Thats why I completely avoid anything copyrighted. Its absolutely disgusting how some tubers are given a full green pass with all out copyrighted content, yet so many others are served notices left and right. Unbelievable.
tbf though they made kenny too strong too quickly almost like he had plot armour in the previous season then gave him whatever the reverse of plot armour is
My biggest issue with S6 is that the writers still think it's cute to drive a wedge between Johnny and Daniel. They should have been over this pettiness by the end of S4. This is just exhausting by this point. I'm perfectly okay with Tory's writing here. What I don't like is everyone else being rather indifferent to her situation. Johnny, who was the only one to understand her feelings, didn't even pursue her after she stormed off. Somehow everyone seemed surprised that she joined back up with Kreese again despite everyone having turned their back on her when she was the most vulnerable.
Agreed. Johnny and Daniel should already be over this pettiness by now. It was great in the first 3 seasons, but after season 4 and 5 they should already be cool with each other by now, and develop to become good friends and both equal sensei’s to their students by now. I also like the writing with Tory. But it is very weird how they all just let her storm off and didn’t chase after her to comfort her. Specially Johnny and Robby. If it was me, I’d replace the scene of Johnny and Daniel bickering for the 1,000th time with a scene where Johnny and Robby chase after Tory, comfort her and whatever it is they say, would lead her on to come back to their side and permanently leave Cobra Kai for good. Also, small nitpick. Imo from a writing perspective. It makes absolutely no sense how when Johnny and Daniel were discussing who the final two members of their group would be, that they considered Anthony and Devon. Daniel choosing Anthony is clear favoritism. Like the dudes just a beginner, he’d get cooked during the Sakai Taikai when he has to fight more superior fighters. He’s just not there yet, and idk why Daniel even considered him. I thought his obvious choice would be Hawk, since he won championship, won against someone like Robby and is clearly the better fighter and has more experience than Anthony. As for Devon. She has a lot of potential, but it is weird how none of them considered Kenny for the spot. This man single handedly took down Hawk, who was their current champion and has showed to have much more potential than Devon. I do like how she sabotaged his chances of being on the spot due to still having some of that Cobra Kai instinct in her. But it is weird how they never considered Kenny for the position.
…what? Daniel understood her feelings too. That’s WHY he stopped the fight-because he and Amanda were the ones to recognize “hey, this kid is grieving and in no state to fight right now, she needs to take a minute” (especially since Tory hadn’t eaten or slept properly since getting the news!)
@@violetlavi2207 thank you. these comments about "johnny understood tory" are complete idiotic. Sam is not a punching bag for tory. She did not want to fight, So was johnny gonna do? Force sam to fight a grieving tory?
@@hasan_1888 YESSSS exactly! Sam didn’t want to fight! Also, Johnny comparing his grief as an adult to Tory’s as a kid never sat right with me. Obviously grief is grief, and hurts regardless of age, but depending on age, people cope in different ways-and if Tory has a group of adults around her, they SHOULD prioritize taking care of her! (also, Johnny, your coping methods notably did NOT work for you 💀)
I also think the way they went about deciding the 6 to go to sekai taikai was stupid. dude this is the most dangerous karate tournament in the world and to decide our strongest fighters they play capture the flag, hold a rock, and chase a chicken??? so ridiculous !
Literally. This is an international tournament with people all over the globe. People who have been training and participating for years. There is no better choice than: Miguel, Sam, Tory, Robby, Hawk and Kenny. I cannot imagine anyone being a better choice.
@@gamernamedpurple3511 100%, Daniel was really recommending anthony and demitri actually made the team💀🤦🏾♂️, there really was only one option for the 6
Problems I see: 😡 Johnny and Daniel fighting AGAIN Demetri and Hawk arguing over college Daniel not accepting that Miyagi wasn’t perfect Kenny and Robby barely having a moment together, or supporting each other Hawk wasn’t in the original 6 going to Barcelona, and was a replacement The season being split into 3 parts, making everyone wait AGAIN
Personally it is a bit early to say if Kenny was done dirty entirely this season. Yes he deserved to participate in the Sekai Tekai way more than Devon did and it was messed up for him to get eliminated from her cheating especially form it being laxatives of all things. So it that regard yea he was done dirty, but chances are he’ll have a moment later on in the season. I feel like they set something up for Kenny when Shawn told him to be the man he would want his dad to see when he comes home. I hope Kenny wins the All Valley with his dad in the audience to show him that he could rise be champion after all the hardships he went through or maybe defend the valley from silver if he returns
The only weird thing about this season (which clearly shows that this show is at its end) is the only source of “drama” they could come up with was regressing some characters storylines which goes against everything that happened before (Daniel and Johnny reconciling, Devon resorting to cheating, Miguel caring about the captain fight more than he should’ve, Demetri being at odds with Eli) this part of the season just felt weird
If all of this didn't happen it would've soooo boring. The writers know what they are doing. It is only the first part. The real thing we've been all waiting for 2 years begins from the second part💪
Fr I don’t really hate the season but i just don’t like how Devon resorting to cheating despite her saying she is gonna reach the top her own way and for me it just felt all over the place I’m not saying it the worst season or anything but I ain’t gonna say this season doenst have sone problem or act like it perfect it 1/3 of the season so it can still change
Imo, what went wrong with Season 6 was: - What they did to my boy Kenny! Jesus, the diarreah wasn't even funny. - Making LaPusso beat Bert even though LaPusso has only been training for a few months while Bert has been here since DAY ONE - Only releasing half of the season, either wait a little longer and release it all at once or don't even bother, especially with how long yall already took - Daniel shutting down Johnny's battle royale idea, that would've been badass - Nerfin my boy Hawk! He deserved to go to Spain, and the fake sympathy story for Demetri acting like he should go. Like, I understand letting other characters shine, but they should've done that in the middle seasons not THE FINAL ONE, come on, only the best should go to Spain - Making Devin cheat, they can't let homegirl win on her own merit even just once. The reveal was good, but it puts all that underdog motivation the audience had for her in the trash Also, even though it's a good part of the show and makes sense due to previously set character motivations, the Miyagi MEAT-RIDING Daniel does is CRAZY. I was so mad at him when he was having that agrument with Johnny in the last episode, and he was STILL GLAZING him, dear god Edit: In fact, after rethinking, I found more things I'm mad at - No more Eagel Fang, sure, it makes sense for Johnny to want no ties to Kreese, but Eagal Fang was HIS dojo and I don't think he'd realistically pussy out to be under Daniel's glaze fest. Plus, Miyagi Fang would've been badass - WHERE IS JULIE! We need her and Colonel Dougan to pull up for the fate of the Miyagi-verse - Not letting my boy Kenny ever hang out with Robbie just cuz the writers have the logic of "If a character conflict is finished, we don't need to hear from them again" - Also, less of a critism and more or a suggestion, we need Aisha to pull up for the finale, it would be crazy - The LaRusso Family bias has got to stop, I know obviously Sam and Anthony are his kids, so naturally Daniel would root for them, but not letting Tori fight and thinking Anthony should go to Spain just because "iTs tHe mIYaGi Do wAY💦" and "mR. miYAgi WoULd nEver" is utter bullshit
You don't make much sense because Anthonys potential is petty high and hawk didn't get nerved his problem when fighting is just holding back in part 2 he probably will stop holding back
If nate kept going and stopped talking he would have won against Anthony. Either way, if they fought nate would win. Those flags don't determine anything. 2. Hawk was only nerfed when he was dropped by Devon. The rest he was fine. That wasn't even a fight it was just getting the flag. While demtri is weak hawk was trying and hurt him too much. Hawk decided to help him up and got kicked. Hawk was trying but showed mercy. 3. Kenny has always been weak. Hawk wasn't trying against him, plus the match was rigged. In s6 he got low diffed by miguel. He lost to sam and tory bc they are more experienced. That's all I have to say. But I agree with almost everything you said
Many things went wrong, but not as many as in season 5. The worst was that we have to wait the other 2 parts, after 2 fckn years of waiting, just because netflix's beggings for subscriptions.
@@loregasmic I will give you 1 example: Johnny and Chozen together barely could defeat 1 of Kim's senseis but at the ep.10 Johnny defeated them all alone, like they lost all of their powers, just because of a photo.
@@George_Kappayou know that fights irl always have a random element on it, right? You also know that a problem of power level consistency is not really a great problem for a show, right?
@@strangedogg5068 Yes mate you are right about all those. But especially the last one you wrote is a cause of mistakes like the one i wrote above to the guy who asked about season 5's mistakes. Speaking to production: If power is not a great problem them lets give the Sekai Taikai's 1st place to Anthony who is so pushed by his daddy!
Yeah its probably good that this is the last season. Its clear they are starting to run out of ideas and its starting to border on soap opera level writing. Hopefully the next parts are better.
Netflx Destroyed _Mike Barnes_ character! And its A shame. The actor came back to play, _"Karate's Bad Boy"_ thats his Legacy (otherwise don't bring him back). > If your bringing _Barnes_ back, HE NEEDS to complete his story arc; i.e. returning as _Silver's_ hired gun & getting revenge on Daniel! Then turning on _Silver_ (perhaps shadowed by Kreese) & taking over the forgotten show's namesake- the _Cobra Kai_ dojo.. Training _Kenny, Kyler, Robby_ & _Tori._ While Setting up what would be an epic finale. A 130 mnt movie, thus completing the circle (like it started as A movie, back in '84). INSTEAD, EVERYONE IS IN MIYAGI DOOKIE, HORRAY! And "the real bad guys" are new lame Sensei's from overseas. Characters nobody asked for, and have no connection to the legacy. #faceplant
@@XenteBR Thanks, an some of that is even from the Barnes actor himself- _Sean Kanan's_ thoughts on his return. Thus IMO, w/ how they foolishly buried his character- someone high up the chain at Netflx (CK production), holds A serious grudge toward's _Sean Kanan._
Everything went wrong with season 6 part 1. Hawk got nerfed as always, demetri has too much plot armour, Tory had so much growth just for it to get thrown away. Devon cheats and Kenny doesn’t get selected and Daniel glazes and cries over miyagi too much
I am pretty sure Xolo and Jacob said the entire episode one was rewritten. Likely the writer's strike probably did not help the scripts for this season.
Daniel was so annoying this season. It was so satisfying seeing Johnny not only shut him up, but take the higher road as well. Johnny has grown while Daniel has stagnated
I dislike the fact that they said when CK was coming out that it would be Johnny focused and a sort of redemption for him. He in between Daniel and him is the most in need and instead of letting have his own dojo, with is own students to make his own life and provide for his family its always Daniel coming to save the day like if Johnny was a charity case. Also the fact that Johnny has made the most impact with the kids and personal change only to have to give up his dojos name because Daniel is to much of a stubborn emotional baby to ever modify the name Miyagi-do or even question Mr. Miyagi is beyond annoying. CK as in the dojo saved Johnny, sure it made him into a bully but it saved him from a life of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his stepfather, and it was his way out to re-open the dojo and make something of himself, shit the show is called Cobra Kai, and yet they are the villains, he has to drop the name, he has to fully embrace miyagi do where Daniel does like 1 episode of trying out Cobra Kai and complains and he has no growth. They keep writing Johnny as a pathetic bum with no life and Daniel as he only does good and hes is mini god and Mr. Miyagi is god. Which I loved Mr. Miyagi in the original movies but not everyone is perfect. I would of loved as motivation aspect between cobra kai dojo and miyagi do to push the kids more besides the fact of "lets see whos better" or "show the world master Kims version of martial arts". I would of been good to have a story where Kim and Miyagi fought each other in like a ww2 plot line and in my opinion where it shows Miyagi lost, and thus showing us why master Kim doesnt care about proving or beating miyagi do and showing whos better. And later down the line tie the rivalry a little more. A lost has been toned down due to the CW/Disney for kids/teens show they are going for and it giving cringy anime "with the power of teamwork and sunshine and rainbows we can beat anyone" Like how does it make sense that master Kim's students are going to lose to some miyagi do kids that have maybe less than 4 years of training most never practiced offensive techniques vs Kims students in a remote part of korea where Kim is a harder master than Krees, Silvers or even Krees military leader. He is hinted at being the most ruthless master yet picking up his little granddaughter by the neck essentially choking her, and beating down krees for talking too much. We are really to expect that these level of fighters would ever lose in real life? TL;dr really disappointed with this season it just seems like a feel good we love each other and hugs over punches will save the world type shit.
I don’t see why they can’t synchronize the offensive of Johnnys version of Cobra Kai with Daniel’s version of Defense they hinted at it in earlier seasons but went know where with the writers strike they should of taken the time to hire new writers because Hollywood writers can’t write for nothing when it comes to consistently or story board planning
I've liked Daniel since the first Karate Kid, but this season he was really getting on my nerves. Hopefully the writers have a plan and fix him. We already have seen him loose his way in the series and come back up, I hope they do it again. And for the love of God, please stop making Johnny and Daniel enemies, it's cliché by this point.
@@Pineapplelesspineapplepizza and Karate Kid wasnt hugs over punches will save the world type shit? I mean yeah Danny had to fight hard but the good guys always won and he always got the girl so to speak. I mean what did you people expect? This is Johnny and Daniels show. Their kids Robby and Sam are gonna win the big tournament at the end of the movie or rather show in this case cause both havent won a title and they saved it for the last big thing... what do you want? For realistic martial arts where they get rightfully destroyed by some Asian kids we barely know? Cause of....?
I think it’s not bad just getting really predictable, miyagi-do beats cobra Kai then a new person takes over cobra kai, it’s also getting pretty boring with characters constantly switching sides
@@avggymbro3734 The writers never wanted to end it at Season 5. They said while the rivalries seemed finished, the characters arcs weren’t. Netflix actually wants to stretch it to Season 7 but the big three denied it.
The things I liked about these five episodes: -Sam and Tory finally apologizing to each other and hugging it out. -Sean's advice to Kenny after losing the fight at the arcade. -Jazmin helping Dmitri to get out of the loser mentality. -The eagle on the Miyagi-Do logo. I love it. -Johnny embracing Miyagi-Do. -Miguel and Robby getting along even with the pressure of the competition. -The frat party fight. Even if I didn't particularly like that plot line (felt like filler in my opinion), the fight sequence was pretty cool. I think that's about it. The rest I either didn't like, or I still don't know how I feel, there are many loose ends yet.
@@kesenaememere8520it’s fine because he ditches it in episode 5 and on the leaks Miguel is wearing a cobra Kai gi, johnnys name is under cobra Kai on the leaderboards, and that stingray thing was clearly foreshadowing how johnnys cobra Kai was the best one.
I felt like the Sam and Tory thing felt like some weird, overly girly bad filler. It's good they worked things out when they did, but the way it was executed felt tonally like a completely different show. Just felt off the whole time.
College fight scene was definitely filler! Hated that segment and I don't understand why everyone is glazing it so much. Somehow everyone is saying it's Kylers redemption but I don't see how. He never apologized for all the wrong he did and was sad cause he couldn't make it into a big party school?? I don't know how the heck that was redemption for Kyler.
@@rodrigobarba930 The eating off the floor thing was really over the top and cringe too. The music they played during all the fights with the kids was awful as well. Idk what the hell happened, but this isn't cobra kai any more.
It either should’ve ended with season five with them defeating Terry Silver or if they’re going to do one more season, they should not have got rid of Terry Silver. Because he was a much more compelling villain that helped seasons 4 and 5 feel fresh.
They didn't have everything wrapped up though. John Kreese had escaped prison and Julie Pierce was the other main OG character yet to return. Plus they still have more to explore with the OG Cobra Kai gang
Here's what really went wrong: they didn't release everything. So it's likely fans are judging based on the 5 episodes, which probably felt lackluster to them.
1. True 2. They made some characters nerfed the hell out which also makes this season weak They should've released everything to clear things up For example season 5 hawk got destroyed by kenny but then again it still shows that hawk is still op because more episodes
Literally, the next 2 parts could be flawless but the fact that we're being made to wait so long only leaves more time for people to judge. Especially considering the first 5 episodes were already so underwhelming anyway
it's interesting i look at the 3 parts like this part1 : preparing all the stories that are to take place in parts 2 and 3 like tori and miyagi plus the fight part 2: will be the tournament plus finding out miyagi past participant in the tournament and friendships will end part 3: will be slow wrapping up all story lines so there's nothing left to speculate
I think the show just needs to ground itself again back to how the first two seasons were, I’ve been watching since Covid but the ridiculousness of these last two seasons is starting to lose me.
I imagine he is staying at his friends house with their family while she (Tori) sorts herself out and competed in this tournament. Im sure we will see Kreese probably helping her out in between leaving Miyagi-Do and going back to CK or we are to assume that happened off screen. In future Im sure Amanda etc will help her and her brother out
I think they forgot that she had one he never appeared not when his mother died not in the hospital maybe they forgot about him and now he doesn’t exist
I know! Of all people, Devon and Johnny should have been the most supportive, and Robby should have gone after her when she left, or look for her when she didn't answer her phone. So many characters acting out of character. Ugh.
Nah he didn’t. Daniel and Johnny both put him in their top 4 best fighters. Devon put the Power Couples and Hawk as the dominant fighters with Demetri saying the same.
Shawn and Amanda are literally us. They both say that karate talk and quotes are just a bunch of dumb shit 😂 like I get it but strike first strike hard no mercy, get out my face with that 😂 and let's not mention the over abundance of Daniel constantly through the entire show "Mr. Miyagi would have, this isn't the Miyagi way.. Miyagi would never" like damn
All of it went wrong. Everything Kreese did was absurd from hopping from country to country as a wanted criminal all the way to that absolutely ridiculous side quest they sent him on. There was a lot of unnecessary and repetitive drama that we already moved past on. That battling cage fight was so corny as well. Picking who goes to Sekai Takai was the worst thing they ever did. After years of these people fighting and competing and training they were basing their picks on some silly boy scout level of games. It's embarassing and disrespectful towards these characters. Them not picking Hawk almost made me quit the show initially. Even though he ended up going in the end, that part left me so upset and annoyed that I am still upset over it. They did a lot of things right as well, things that made me fall in love with the show like the baby gender reveal or the sleepover, lot of humor, great acting and amazing new characters like Kwon. But seasons 5 and 6 are massive disappointments after those perfect 4 seasons. I don't understand how editing and writing are so bad when they had 2 years between seasons. I miss the show being about Johnny and his Cobra Kai and all I wanted was that show ends with Johnny rebuilding Cobra Kai.
On that picking who goes to Sekai Tekai I fully agree it was written very poorly. Hawk and Miguel won the All Valley before, so they should be no brainer. Robby almost won, so he goes aswell. Sam and Tory are the best female fighters obviously they should go. That only leaves the 6th spot free. IMO they should have held a small tournament at Miyagi Do to choose the 6th fighter. Based on skills and flexibility I think Hawk is their most capable fighter, and yet he almost wasn't allowed to go...*sigh*
There’s a leaked imagine with the sekai taikai displaying dojos and it said Miguel and Johnny lawerence were in cobra kai, it helps that Miguel was leaked wearing the captains banner so u might get what u want
Netflx Destroyed Cobra Kai! And erased _Mike Barnes_ character! While paying the actor to return, just to insult him. And its such A shame. The actor (in an pre-production interview) came back to play _"Karate's Bad Boy" Mike Barnes,_ ergo his Legacy (otherwise don't bring him back). > They should of brought _Barnes_ back to complete his story arc; i.e. returning as _Silver's_ hired gun & getting revenge on Daniel! Maybe try to put yourself in that character’s position before you judge them. You and your best friend have been planning to go to the same college for years and then all of a sudden he tells you that he might not want to go. I would be confused and upset too. And it’s not as simple as just a college. It’s their entire futures.
Season 5 was perfect ending in my opinion. Everyone ended on good terms. Johnny and Daniel were starting to be friends. Now that's all ruined now. Time to move on from this rivalry! Long overdue!!
Daniel says this in the first episode of Season 6. “We only entered the Sekai Taikai to stop Silver and now that he’s gone what if the pressure of another tournament makes us turn on each other.”
1- releasing very short episodes separately with a very extensive time margin between releases 2- Kenny and Robby barely interacting and Kenny’s arc overall 3- Circling Johnny and Daniel’s relationship back to what it was at the beginning of season 4 and even after agreeing that trying to one-up the other messed everything up for them later in that same season just for cheap drama is ridiculous Don’t know what the writers are doing but they better fix it pronto
Honestly the biggest problem is the 3 different release dates, Netflix is killing all the hype of a show that's not nearly as relevant anymore, and I feel like they had to rush the into the Sekai Taikei i.e. missing interactions between robby and Kenny, Tori leaving Miyagi Do without any attempt to reach out etc. I hope part 2 fills in those gaps, but we'll see I guess
I agree. Like since the episodes are already being rushed, they need to just remove the first two parts from Netflix so they can re-release all 15 episodes on February 13 fully re-edited and revised
I mean the one that is favorizing Sam is larusso . This mf listed his daughter above Miguel, Hawk, and Robby.Larusso just favorited his daughter above the rest of students, he abandoned Robby twice for mistakes Robby made. Yea Daniel sucks at being a sensei
1- Recycle of Johnny and Daniel's drama(they are still adults acting like kids); 2- Robby and Miguel's fight was straight up bad. The two had no real compelling reason to fight each other, I mean, Robby is, "I dont wanna be number two" (Cobra Kai mindset) and Miguel is like "I wanna go to a university." (Bruh) and the "Power of Love" makes Robby win. Wtf?! 3- Kenny's arc and relationship with Robby was tossed aside after he entered Myagi-do; 4- Tory just showed up in Cobra Kai Dojo for the tournament just for not getting a fight?! 5- I forgot the rest-
What went wrong was several seasons ago when they basically abandoned the Kobra kai concept and made everyone miyagi. They nuked a more interesting premise to retread old ground because (my bet anyway) Machio couldn’t handle his part of the ip being overshadowed
In my opinion any and all of the stuff with Kreese continues to ruin his character arc. He should’ve stayed in prison or at the very least get told he was let out but he doesn’t return except to maybe apologize to Johnny and Daniel. At the end of season 4 in the tournament he was on his way to redeeming himself by telling Tori not to fight dirty and having all of the flashbacks to show he really isn’t this cartoon mustache twirling bad guy. He’s a guy with a lot of demons from the past and just like Johnny had someone shown him a different path who knows where he would be in life today. But instead he escapes prison(despite being found innocent) and flees to Korea to be the bad guy once again. They could have easily set it up where Terry Silver had already expanded Cobra Kai into the rest of the world with his sponsors so season 6 is about officially defeating them once and for all. They had it so easy man…What went wrong…
I agree, he definately started to redeem himself in s4 when he told Tori to win her match her way rather than resorting to cheating tactics. I think they will redeem him by the end of s6 or he will die or both. I think Tori is his new weakness and Johnny is still a weakness to him he just doesnt realise it, yet - he always seems to have a vunerable person that he "looks after" first Silver when they were young then Johnny and now Tori. I have a feeling something will happen at SK with either Johnny or Tori or both that will make him see the error of his ways. I also wonder if his true love did pass away in a car accident while he was at war or was that letter written by her family or someone else to stop him thinking of her and wanting to return to her - did her family not want them together or his army boss wanted him focused on the war and fighting so the letter was maybe a lie and she is alive out there and they will be reunited.
what went wrong was the wardrobes of every character cause dang man their outfits say so much, in the first few seasons they dressed like actual teenagers, but now, they're dressed like what middle aged men would imagine teenagers would be wearing
I’ve seen enough over this streaming era of television to say that the DEFINITIVE way to release a show is week-to-week. When you release it like CKS6 the time gap is too large and people don’t care or forget by the time the rest of the season comes around. If you release the whole season at once, the only people talking about the show after a few weeks are hardcore fans. Week-to-week keeps the conversation going in the best way. Each week, you get a bit more and have a week to theorize before seeing the payoff, then rinse and repeat. Can you imagine 3 straight months of cobra Kai weekly releases?! Also, I will say the the stranger things S4 approach also works. Drop the entire season except the two part finale, and then the finale two months later. Obviously the months long gaps between sections of shows are cynical attempts to keep users subscribed for longer.
A bigger issue is waiting 2 yrs just for 5x 30minute episodes than you get another months later than another 5 like a year later I honestly barely remember what happened in other seasons This show isn't exactly high budget, not the best writing (a lot of corny scenes and dialogue) nor are the episodes long in length or in how many episodes a season Ive seen enough of the streaming era to realise even if they release it week by week you're still gonna have to wait like 2-3yrs for the next season andd by than you're completely forgotten and your immersion ruined
For me the problem lies with all the delays and then cutting the season up in three parts with the last release date being unknown. They should have just put it all out there. If they wanted to do something special like on the release of the new movie they could have just launched a bluray box or something. I don't know, I don't like how they are making us wait after we had several delays throughout the series.
People are judging this more harshly because we didn't get the entire season in one drop like we did with all the others, we haven't got the full picture yet. I enjoyed thenfirst part, but it is incomplete right now, so I'm waiting for the rest of it before making a full judgement.
I never liked Eagle Fang's logo or name, it was too goofy. I think the addition of the eagle to Miyagi-Do's classic logo looks very nice, I really like it. I just hope the writers can finally get over this nonsensical rivalry that should have ended last season, it's getting stale. And shame on them for how they handled everybody's response to Tory's mom's death. They made a huge development on Tory's character and the writers decided to crap all over that for no apparent reason. This season is not it, at least not so far.
Can we discuss how bad Miguel, Kenny, and Johnny glazing has become? Everyone talks about Miyagi glazing but those three are nonstopped glazed. Kenny could stomp a puppy and people would make TikTok edits. Johnny could punch a random homeless man in the face and people would shout from the rooftops that he’s the most incredible character ever.
This has been my favorite show for awhile now. Even got to meet a bunch of the Cobra Kai actors. I absolutely love the writing normally but in this season, the storyline was all over the place. It's like in the boardroom when tossing about ideas, one person was like, "Oh, there should be something to do with ancient Japanese dynasty!" Another person is like, "Hey, what if Mr. Miyagi has some deep dark secret?" Another, "What about a snake? We definitely need a snake. Can we put that in there somewhere? It is COBRA kai after all." And when did Anthony become a karate expert? I think it would have been more believable if Anthony turned bad and ended up becoming a drug dealer or something. He just has that look.
Given Tory's innate anger issues and her scars, No. It doesn't. Not at all. Recall that Kobra Kai takes in the vulnerable; the irish, the aggressive minded - and teaches them to continue using that as their fuel. Is it a SMART decision; no. Absolutely not, but if you understand anything close to what she's been through, it also felt like her only choice. I'd be more interested as to how they'll reconcile (or if they will bother at all) her relationship with Robbie against her potential commitment to Kobra Kai. One of my big problems with the show is that ALL of these characters have some larger commitment in martial arts, but NONE of them seem to stick with any given formed Dojo. : /
I wish people saw the characters who are sliding backwards as an continuation about the core theme "It's not about the prize, its about the goal" Tori, Dimitri and Devon are so hellbent with getting what they want that they're losing sight of why they're fighting and the love of martial arts. Robbie was prize focused but when he saw tori he calmed down as he wanted to honor his promise. Sam was fighting "for closure" something beyond a prize.
Why did they do that to my boy hawk they nerfed tf out of him he would’ve never lost to Kenny or any of the bs if it was for the plot armor and why didn’t they just choose the 6 themselves it is pretty obvious who should be going
I don't get this point, Hawk lost to Kenny due to a dirty move that made it harder for him to breathe therefore disqualified him, even in this season they bring up it was a cheap shot that really shouldn't count. He didn't lose to Demetri because he was worse than him, he beat him and then Demetri landed a low blow. The only nerf it seems Hawk has is that he's too trusting, he's expecting others to follow the rules. Also it was stated in the season why they didn't choose the people themselves, Daniel was biased to his own kids and Johnny was biased to his students. Daniel literally didn't want Tory to go and wanted Anthony to go instead, I wouldn't trust him to pick a good team either.
Robby's usage I think is very wrong. Imo, Robby should be on track to take the champion title. The last season did a really good job at making him and Miguel bond together, but all of his character development seems to have left him in the background of everyone else's story rather than one of the leads.
The writers strike and the decision to split it into three parts made the story suffer as a whole. Each season organically developed their respective plot points and culminations throughout each episode. Deciding to split in in three parts meant trying to squeeze tons of things into mere 5 episode blocks, making the pace feel very rushed and all over the place, and oddly enough - filler-like. And not even good filler, mind you. Camera work was weird and very different from the past 5 seasons and felt aesthetically different - distractingly so. Completely eradicating the entire premise of the show (that there are good lessons to draw from both schools of thought, and true balance comes from taking from both styles) by making Johnny miyagi do and not having the merger come with a new school name. Everything that has been built up since episode 1, and pushed very hardcore in seasons 4 and 5 fell to the wayside in favor of... Idk exactly. Lazy writing? Bad writing? Not knowing what that balance would look like? Idk. Kreese acting jarringly stupid during the snake scene (instead of, idk, being clever enough to get around/move/trap that bad boy so as to not get bit?). Wasn't he the same one who praised Hawks innovative approach to his assignment to kicking the plant off the pole? What happened? Him getting in and out of the country so easily without explanation was wild. The fights were mostly soulless trash with garbage music uncharacteristic of the show layered over them. Rehashing the Daniel and Johnny drama again even though it's been stale since season 4 (yet needed that season to give them the chance to finally hash things out) just to pad run time and give us more drama. If there was a master class on how to kill a great show, this would be it. Much more could be said, but I'll leave it at that.
Agreed. Now they'll need to make sure that his past ties everything together somehow. Which maybe that's what will happen. The very end could end up being an overdramatic cheesefest or the most epic ending to a show ever. Either way, can't wait!
1. Kenny was done dirty 2. Takes two fucking years and we get part 1 and not the whole season 3. Miguel meat riders think he lost fair and square. 4. Johnny and Daniel have issues “again” 5. Tory joins cobra Kai and possible destroys her relationship with Robby.
Isnt it good that Miguel glazers think Miguel lost fair and square? (Even tho Robby had a plot boost after Tory showed which was bs he should’ve won without an amp)
@@battyofficialyt I feel like Miguel wasn’t focused but I’m not entirely sure but you and everyone knows something went seriously wrong in that fight because Miguel deserves to win to get his get back
In my poinion the problems are: 1.Hawk was the best fighter in season 4 and 5 and he didn't even qualified for the tournament. 2.Robby suddenly becomes the best and beats Miguel when he wasn't able to do that in the last 5 seasons. 3.Torry joins Cobra Kai again. 4.Hawk and Demetri ruin their friendship wich they had for years only because Hawk didn't want to go to MIT. 5.Hawk,Miguel,Dimitri become frineds with Kyler.
its almost like the writers wanted to have an Olympian competition with both the boys and the house of dragon staff to see who can descend fastest at the quality of the writing.
I love Cobra Kai it is one of my favourite shows but the writing is pretty sloppy at times esp the last couple of series. After 6 series & everything that has gone on we still have Daniel thinking his way is the ONLY way & the best way and constantly patronising Johnny and his teachings rather than compromise. Its getting tiring and really should have stopped a couple series ago. The way they had a Dr tell Peyton her mum was getting better then have her die just moments later was sloppy, yes it happens in real life but they should have had it happen in an earlier ep so her death was more of a tragic surprise whereas it was pretty much guessed that it would happen after that scene. The same can be said for Kreese visiting Tori in the parking lot - it was pretty much guessed then that something was going to happen to push Tori back to Kreese & CK, again had it happened in an earlier episode then the final scene where she shows up with CK would have been more of a surprise. The 3 parts is awful too - I understand due to covid they were behind in series then the writers strike last year pushed filming back that most TV shows are releasing in 2 parts, but 3?? Also the fact they are months apart instead of just 1-2 months is annoying and not helping keep momentum. They should have kept Part 1 until Sept/Oct if Part 2 is out Nov and hopefully p3 in Jan?
Forgot to say, the sloppiest of the writing was how no-one went after Tori esp Robby her bf, or Amanda. Who would let someone walk away upset after finding out their mother just died. That has to be up there with the worst of their writing, that everyone cared moe about a karate tournament than a young girl who had just been orphaned - not very caring or balanced or Miyagi-Do of them :(
@@leafenton6800 Yeah, this moment really rubbed me the wrong way. The writers made the good guys look more cold blooded than the villains. What the hell were they thinking?
A lot of people saying they did Kenny wrong. Did they? I think they were trying to make us feel bad for him, after how awful they made him in season 5. The scene wasn't supposed to be funny, at least I didn't think it was. But by doing that they've made Devon suddenly really unlikable. She's not only a cheat, but a malicious human being for doing that. The show has gotten really weird.
1) Robby and Kenny barely having a single scene together after episode 1 kinda made their whole dynamic seem pointless 2) Miguel glazers are getting ridiculous, all his and Robby's fight shows is that they're equal it just depends on their mindsets 3) Johnny and Daniel's bickering this far into the show is just straight-up insufferable, why can't they just get along?? 4) Hawk just letting Demetri walk off with the flag was really out of character imo
Just found this video 🤗 Many, MANY things I fully agree with (and some I don’t. But hey, it’s all subjectice) I fully agree witt your point about Sung-Yung at 17:04! Imagine if Sung-Yung had just been this darkly lit presence, sitting on a “throne” when talking to Kreese. And if only he’d been more convincing in that make-up 🤷♂️ I THINK the creators were deliberately going for an old-school Karate/Kung-Fun feel, going back to the Bruce Lee era. Just like Tarantino did with his Kill Bill movies as well. There’s even some camera-movements going on, when they first introduce Kim Sung-Yung, that made me think this is the case, but I can’t be sure. Either way, it didn’t quite work, and Sung-Yuna should’ve no doubt been portrayed way more down to earth - and SCARY. Thanks for the video! 🤗
I think the Mike Barnes & Johnny tension was cos they wanted to build them up to a fight so they can say all Karate Kid movie bad boys have all fought each other now and have fought the original bad boy = Johnny
I disagree with your very first sentence about the original movie, but overall I appreciate this essay (it's very good)- Even if I think its a bit too generous to these first 5 eps. Yes, Netflix really hurt the storytelling flow by splitting the season, and I wish the creators had the wherewithal to push back against a decision that would actively harm their work. But that doesn't absolve the writing, which is slipping into redundant patters, and lazy contrivances. I agree with all your criticsms, but I'd add a bigger picture to the whole thing: Without a main villain, the first 3rd of the season has nothing to do. So...Johnny and Daniel will go back to butting heads for forced conflict even though they'd already set aside their differences. Robbie and Miguel will go back to being rivals for forced conflict even though they already set aside their differences. Hawk and Dimitri will all of a sudden get a forced conflict, when no one could care less. Even Kreese forces conflict between students he doesn't even know at his new dojo, because the plot has nothing to do until the tournament starts. Johnny trying to force conflict between Sam and Tory at a slumber party could be the whole metaphor for Season 6 pt 1, and that's kind of funny.
Regarding hawk lose vs Dimitri it makes sense, hawk doesn't want to hurt his friend anymore thats why he hold back , and regarding loosing vs kenny indont think was a nerf , kenny was training a lot , and was learning techniques from silver
We cant judge it until it concludes, but yeah... I'm not sold right now. I feel part 3 will be good, but this season feels like "throw 20 ideas on the wall and some will be great and the show will be wild". Ranking from WORST to FIRST 6. Season 6, Part I 5. Season 3 4. Season 4 (best finale imo) 3. Season 5 2. Season 1 1. Season 2
I agree with what you laid out but my chief complaint is that Johnny and Miguel’s relationship is the heart of the show and they were completely sidelined.
Something interesting I noted about the college app subplot is that when referring to MIT, they always say "early action/early admission", not "early decisions" which they use in reference to Miguel and Stanford. It's a neat detailed because EA and ED are not the same thing, and MIT doesn't actually offer ED, only EA. So, the show got these two often mistake terms accurate. ... Which is also why Hawk not applying feels like it makes no sense. Early action isn't binding, unlike ED. He'd have no reason not to apply, even if he was considering other options he wouldn't have had to make the final for months. There isn't actually any reason for conflict. The writers clearly knew the terminology they were talking about, which makes this subplot feel even weaker.
@@Migueldiaz-h5u Miyagi Do stands for Miyagi Dojo. It makes sense. Eagle Fang doesn’t make much sense but it sounds cool. Miyagi fang makes no sense at all and it sounds like something a kindergartner would make up.

Then maybe they shouldn't drop a new season in parts then. We did give the writers a chance, and it's been an underwhelming performance so far. Will things improve? Maybe. But there's nothing wrong with critiquing what's been given to us so far.
@@StephonZeno Feel free to critique. I pointed out that Netflix didn’t drop he entire season at once which is probably the reason why so many are questioning the choices made so far in the season. Personally, I enjoyed the episodes and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next, but I get why some aren’t on board so far. We’ve been trained to watch an entire season in one sitting and Netflix is switching it up on us.
I felt that the ending of the 5th series was satisfyingly conclusive. So series 6 was very unexpected. I'm enjoying it of course, but it does seem like a bonus, not necessary, just there for a bit of extra entertainment. That's fine. It's not undermining anything and I am looking forward to seeing the rest. But I'm already satisfied with what I felt was a complete story.
They made lots of errors. First off, why are they still using those young actors Nick and Barrett for young Kreese and Silver when that flashback is literally like a few years before The Karate Kid. Secondly, they killed Tory’s mom off and she rejoined Cobra Kai. And thirdly why are they already showing the Sekai Taikai in Episode 5?
This first part was just terrible! - Tory going back to Cobra Kai ruins her character development massively - Daniel and Johnny arguing again ruins their character development massively too - Demetri and Hawk fighting about which college to go to; Why didn't the latter speak sooner - The discovery of Mr. Miyagi having once committed assault and theft; it felt stupid and unnecessary - Mr. Miyagi fought in the Sekai Taikai and never told Daniel about it. Why not? What the hell were the idiot writers thinking?!
I liked a lot tye miyagi past sub plot actually enriches the character more filling some gaps on karate kid 2 and the fact of why Miyagi disliked tournaments
I don’t get the 5 episode structure there doing because this show is clearly split into 3 acts so nothing big really happened until the final episode and a weekly release schedule would fit this so much better
Possibly everything so far johnny and Daniel agreeing on the name miyagi do completely disregards there partnership (and adding an eagle with a bonsai tree in the back of the gi doesn’t change that at all) Johnny is inconsistent he evolved and stood backwards at the same time him embracing miyagi do after running into a fan from 85 was good moment but fighting mike Barnes so Devon can get a chance to compete in the sekai tekai is crazy Don’t even get me started on Daniel he’s still unlikeable and his glazing about Mr miyagi felt way to excessive this season and annoying and led Tory to cobra Kai he doesn’t even notifie Johnny that he’s training Miguel and Sam in the forest that’s something Daniel wouldn’t do Kreese literally goes from the valley to Korea to the valley again to Spain like how is he not getting caught it’s literally so jarring and dumb and comes of as cartoonish but kreese was always a cartoonish villain Robby literally fought Kenny and Shawn just to force Kenny back into miyagi do just to never talk to him again Devon’s plot line was irrelevant and started unnecessary drama between Kenny and Anthony which was resolved already Tory going back to cobra Kai is massive character regression after everything that happened last season Demitri is a crybaby and control freak for not letting hawk chose his own school Johnny and Daniel’s bickering is so annoying when that resolved at the end of season 4 they should on the same page now it just feels like there running out of ideas
Demitri just backstabbing Hawk on the race to the flag was so unlike him, one more scene that adds drama just for drama now that both are in Spain. I love Cobra Kai, but the series really ended at season 5 for me, and why they are ignoring The Next Karate Kid so much? Yes it is the worst movie out of 4 and none of the original actors return but it is still a sequel to Karate Kid 3
I actually think Johnny has been the villain in season 6. Trying to get Sam and Tory to hate each other again so they would fight better was messed up. He clearly showed no gratitude for Daniel giving him a job in fact anyone else would have been fired for how he treats the job. Thinking that pushing a clearly unhinged and unsafe Tory to continue fighting during a mental break down. Trying to unfairly influence mikes picks.
While I do give Johnny the right point in letting Tori and Sam fight it out to the end, I still think deep down, Johnny is the same immature, spoiled, violent prick, who only cares for himself and his CK glory days, despite him growing as a character since KK, same goes for Daniel, he is such a Myiagi glazer that it is comical by now.
@@ShinyGolduck5 why would he let an emotionally unstable teen who just faced the biggest trauma in her life, and who has a history of violence and even attempted murder fight against another teenage girl in a friendly match?

My biggest issue with S6 is that the writers still think it's cute to drive a wedge between Johnny and Daniel. They should have been over this pettiness by the end of S4. This is just exhausting by this point.
I'm perfectly okay with Tory's writing here. What I don't like is everyone else being rather indifferent to her situation. Johnny, who was the only one to understand her feelings, didn't even pursue her after she stormed off. Somehow everyone seemed surprised that she joined back up with Kreese again despite everyone having turned their back on her when she was the most vulnerable.
Yeah feel the same on the first point, like they should be on the same page long by now

The writers have “jumped the shark” in season 6.
Imo, what went wrong with Season 6 was:
- What they did to my boy Kenny! Jesus, the diarreah wasn't even funny.
- Making LaPusso beat Bert even though LaPusso has only been training for a few months while Bert has been here since DAY ONE
- Only releasing half of the season, either wait a little longer and release it all at once or don't even bother, especially with how long yall already took
- Daniel shutting down Johnny's battle royale idea, that would've been badass
- Nerfin my boy Hawk! He deserved to go to Spain, and the fake sympathy story for Demetri acting like he should go. Like, I understand letting other characters shine, but they should've done that in the middle seasons not THE FINAL ONE, come on, only the best should go to Spain
- Making Devin cheat, they can't let homegirl win on her own merit even just once. The reveal was good, but it puts all that underdog motivation the audience had for her in the trash
Also, even though it's a good part of the show and makes sense due to previously set character motivations, the Miyagi MEAT-RIDING Daniel does is CRAZY. I was so mad at him when he was having that agrument with Johnny in the last episode, and he was STILL GLAZING him, dear god
Edit: In fact, after rethinking, I found more things I'm mad at
- No more Eagel Fang, sure, it makes sense for Johnny to want no ties to Kreese, but Eagal Fang was HIS dojo and I don't think he'd realistically pussy out to be under Daniel's glaze fest. Plus, Miyagi Fang would've been badass
- WHERE IS JULIE! We need her and Colonel Dougan to pull up for the fate of the Miyagi-verse
- Not letting my boy Kenny ever hang out with Robbie just cuz the writers have the logic of "If a character conflict is finished, we don't need to hear from them again"
- Also, less of a critism and more or a suggestion, we need Aisha to pull up for the finale, it would be crazy
- The LaRusso Family bias has got to stop, I know obviously Sam and Anthony are his kids, so naturally Daniel would root for them, but not letting Tori fight and thinking Anthony should go to Spain just because "iTs tHe mIYaGi Do wAY💦" and "mR. miYAgi WoULd nEver" is utter bullshit

@@Pineapplelesspineapplepizza glad I took the time to read this in full, exceptionally well said my friend

I think it’s not bad just getting really predictable, miyagi-do beats cobra Kai then a new person takes over cobra kai, it’s also getting pretty boring with characters constantly switching sides

The things I liked about these five episodes:
-Sam and Tory finally apologizing to each other and hugging it out.
I hated Johnny, embracing Miyagi-do personally.

It either should’ve ended with season five with them defeating Terry Silver or if they’re going to do one more season, they should not have got rid of Terry Silver. Because he was a much more compelling villain that helped seasons 4 and 5 feel fresh.
That part
Terry is coming back. Just wait
terry silver will be back, he has been in image leaks.
They didn't have everything wrapped up though. John Kreese had escaped prison and Julie Pierce was the other main OG character yet to return. Plus they still have more to explore with the OG Cobra Kai gang
Tori had a mental breakdown in front of everyone public announcing her moms passing and nobody went after her as she ran off? Not Johnny or Amanda
Here's what really went wrong: they didn't release everything. So it's likely fans are judging based on the 5 episodes, which probably felt lackluster to them.
I said this at the end, but at the same time there’s been some bad stuff in these episodes to a degree the show has rarely faced before.
1. True
2. They made some characters nerfed the hell out which also makes this season weak
They should've released everything to clear things up
For example season 5 hawk got destroyed by kenny but then again it still shows that hawk is still op because more episodes
Literally, the next 2 parts could be flawless but the fact that we're being made to wait so long only leaves more time for people to judge. Especially considering the first 5 episodes were already so underwhelming anyway

it's interesting i look at the 3 parts like this
part1 : preparing all the stories that are to take place in parts 2 and 3 like tori and miyagi plus the fight
part 2: will be the tournament plus finding out miyagi past participant in the tournament and friendships will end
part 3: will be slow wrapping up all story lines so there's nothing left to speculate
I think the show just needs to ground itself again back to how the first two seasons were, I’ve been watching since Covid but the ridiculousness of these last two seasons is starting to lose me.
So did Tory just leave her little brother to fight in a tournament after their mom just died?

In future Im sure Amanda etc will help her and her brother out

I know! Of all people, Devon and Johnny should have been the most supportive, and Robby should have gone after her when she left, or look for her when she didn't answer her phone. So many characters acting out of character. Ugh.

Plus Johnny said once the tournament is done he’s quitting mirage do
Netflx Destroyed Cobra Kai!
Then have him turn on _Silver_ (perhaps shadowed by Kreese) & taking over the forgotten show's namesake- the _Cobra Kai_ dojo.. Training _Kenny, Kyler, Robby_ & _Tori._ All while setting up what would be an epic finale. Something like A 130 mnt movie, thus completing the circle (like it started as A movie, back in '84).
But INSTEAD, EVERYONE IS IN MIYAGI DOOKIE, HORRAY! And "the real bad guys" are new lame Sensei's from overseas. Characters nobody asked for, and have no connection to the legacy.

Demetri was the worst part of the season, bro got mad at hawk over a collage, Demetri better get humbled in Sekai Taikai

Maybe try to put yourself in that character’s position before you judge them. You and your best friend have been planning to go to the same college for years and then all of a sudden he tells you that he might not want to go. I would be confused and upset too. And it’s not as simple as just a college. It’s their entire futures.

Daniel says this in the first episode of Season 6. “We only entered the Sekai Taikai to stop Silver and now that he’s gone what if the pressure of another tournament makes us turn on each other.”
1- releasing very short episodes separately with a very extensive time margin between releases
2- Kenny and Robby barely interacting and Kenny’s arc overall
3- Circling Johnny and Daniel’s relationship back to what it was at the beginning of season 4 and even after agreeing that trying to one-up the other messed everything up for them later in that same season just for cheap drama is ridiculous

Yea Daniel sucks at being a sensei
experience wise sam is better than the rest. lets not forget johnnys favoritism towards devon. So stop being a hypocrite.
@@hasan_1888 He didn’t favorited her, he was just looking up for her , which makes him a good sensei.
They should at least release part II in September, its been almost two years since season V, also I really dont like Devon.
1- Recycle of Johnny and Daniel's drama(they are still adults acting like kids);
2- Robby and Miguel's fight was straight up bad. The two had no real compelling reason to fight each other, I mean, Robby is, "I dont wanna be number two" (Cobra Kai mindset) and Miguel is like "I wanna go to a university." (Bruh) and the "Power of Love" makes Robby win. Wtf?!
3- Kenny's arc and relationship with Robby was tossed aside after he entered Myagi-do;
4- Tory just showed up in Cobra Kai Dojo for the tournament just for not getting a fight?!
I also wonder if his true love did pass away in a car accident while he was at war or was that letter written by her family or someone else to stop him thinking of her and wanting to return to her - did her family not want them together or his army boss wanted him focused on the war and fighting so the letter was maybe a lie and she is alive out there and they will be reunited.
what went wrong was the wardrobes of every character cause dang man their outfits say so much, in the first few seasons they dressed like actual teenagers, but now, they're dressed like what middle aged men would imagine teenagers would be wearing
my biggest problem was tory rejoining cobra kai, since we just had a whole arc of her leaving cobra kai. i also didnt like Devon at all
I’ve seen enough over this streaming era of television to say that the DEFINITIVE way to release a show is week-to-week.
Not only this, but we need more shows that have more than 10 episodes in a season.
A bigger issue is waiting 2 yrs just for 5x 30minute episodes than you get another months later than another 5 like a year later
I honestly barely remember what happened in other seasons
This show isn't exactly high budget, not the best writing (a lot of corny scenes and dialogue) nor are the episodes long in length or in how many episodes a season
Ive seen enough of the streaming era to realise even if they release it week by week you're still gonna have to wait like 2-3yrs for the next season andd by than you're completely forgotten and your immersion ruined

22:10 not just sidelined but nerfed too and Hawk is a tournament champion
: /
I wish people saw the characters who are sliding backwards as an continuation about the core theme
"It's not about the prize, its about the goal"
Tori, Dimitri and Devon are so hellbent with getting what they want that they're losing sight of why they're fighting and the love of martial arts. Robbie was prize focused but when he saw tori he calmed down as he wanted to honor his promise. Sam was fighting "for closure" something beyond a prize.
I feel like there was to much conflict between Johnny and Daniel
Not just in terms of storywriting, the fight choreography was disappointing. The only fight I actually sort of enjoyed was Kwon beating his mates.
Nothing. Only channels like this that wouldn't exist without having someone else's original content to react to. Cobra Kai Never Dies.
My question is whatever happened to robby and Daniels relationship seems like they rarely interact anymore
@ I don’t get how you don’t get this it’s pretty straightforward
I can't picture Johnny being nothing more than a handyman or working in construction not that there's anything wrong with that
One word : OBLITERATED.
Robby's usage I think is very wrong. Imo, Robby should be on track to take the champion title. The last season did a really good job at making him and Miguel bond together, but all of his character development seems to have left him in the background of everyone else's story rather than one of the leads.
NOPE ROBBY WON'T WIN

Messing around with Mr Miyagis past is not ok. That could undermine the whole premise of the movie trilogy
We've still got 10 more Episodes relax😅

I just hope they do it right, it could be very interesting if handled properly. They better not pull a Jar Jar Abrahms on us.
Agreed. Now they'll need to make sure that his past ties everything together somehow. Which maybe that's what will happen. The very end could end up being an overdramatic cheesefest or the most epic ending to a show ever. Either way, can't wait!
It’s fine. Just wait for the full season

In my poinion the problems are:
1.Hawk was the best fighter in season 4 and 5 and he didn't even qualified for the tournament.
Still better than anything on Disney plus.
I have to agree with you. When they wrapped up all the conflicts in Season 5, I couldn't imagine where they could go. Turns out, nowhere. So far.
True. I thought that maybe I was the only one that didn’t find humor in Kennys mishap. But sadly some Sickos actually found it to be so funny.
1) Robby and Kenny barely having a single scene together after episode 1 kinda made their whole dynamic seem pointless
2) Miguel glazers are getting ridiculous, all his and Robby's fight shows is that they're equal it just depends on their mindsets
3) Johnny and Daniel's bickering this far into the show is just straight-up insufferable, why can't they just get along??
4) Hawk just letting Demetri walk off with the flag was really out of character imo
Cobra Kai the main cast it felt eh but the Korean part and Kwon actually saved the season bro made the season good
Edit: also I’m not a k drama person
Ranking from WORST to FIRST
6. Season 6, Part I
5. Season 3
4. Season 4 (best finale imo)
3. Season 5

1. Season 2
What went wrong? It overstayed its welcome and turned from an adult mature show to a Nickelodeon cringe fest
I don’t know why people think Miyagi Fang is a cool name it’s so stupid
Yeah, it is the goofiest name they could've picked.
Better then myagi do
@@Migueldiaz-h5u Miyagi Do stands for Miyagi Dojo. It makes sense. Eagle Fang doesn’t make much sense but it sounds cool. Miyagi fang makes no sense at all and it sounds like something a kindergartner would make up.

A superficial and absurdly generous analysis
I have an understanding in what I’m discussing from all standpoints, and this video is more of a review than an analysis. Also, I’m pretty fair on the pros and cons.
Johnny and Daniel issues didn’t become real until Tory’s mom died and both of their reactions made sense.
@@cltre1048Most of Daniel’s spite of Johnny’s methods come from him doubling down because of the Miyagi chest.
Right before when Daniel heard that Tory and Sam were becoming weaklings from Johnny. Daniel just gave him a full go and said to “work his magic.” A Daniel anytime after he opened the Miyagi chest would’ve said “Only Miyagi Do or I can fix this.”
I think everything is going to turn out fine come episode 15 season 6. I have faith in the big 3👍
What happened with Hawk and Moon?
nothing these brainwashed writers dont care about Hawks character anymore so why bother bringing back Moon
@@filipberes319 it's still early. Perhaps moon doesn't like the new patriotic mohawk and eventually he tones it down to just a normal college kid mohawk and they will work it out. On Halloween he will make his mohawk and face shaped like Mr. Mac tonight McDonald's moon man. Moon would be dressed like mother Earth. She says, well could be worse, 😆 better than being a goon man. And they kiss in the last Halloween party of their high school years
Hawk and a reformed and redeemed Silver will start their own dojo called Silver Eagle Karate with the full moon night bonzai image and an Eagle flying in the forefront. Or does Silver Hawk sound better?
😂 gonna laugh at my own jokes
Ik cobra kai has always had not too serious writing but this season has felt very off n cartoony with adults always reverting to arguing easily, dimitri n devon being allowed to represent the dojo shit even giving Anthony a shot made the whole tournament hype feel like a joke
Demetri all of a sudden being a competitor is stupid, Anthony as well. The whole idea is stupid alone with just 6 people it causes for tension
Here's what I think went wrong: The whole season didn't drop all at once. People aren't giving the writers a chance to cook.
They nerfed Hawk so hard. he went from being dead even with Miguel to 4th string bench warmer.
I hope Tory has a redemption at some point. She deserves some happiness after everything she's been through
This first half really didn't Grasp me at all
I felt that the ending of the 5th series was satisfyingly conclusive.
The episodes were rushed

When Johny said that Eagle Fang is just a new version of Cobra Kai. No. Just no. Always be a badass is a completely different philosophy.
This first part was just terrible!
- Tory going back to Cobra Kai ruins her character development massively
- Daniel and Johnny arguing again ruins their character development massively too
- Demetri and Hawk fighting about which college to go to; Why didn't the latter speak sooner
- The discovery of Mr. Miyagi having once committed assault and theft; it felt stupid and unnecessary
- Mr. Miyagi fought in the Sekai Taikai and never told Daniel about it. Why not?

Splitting it into 3 parts was pretty dumb and Netflix is doing it with a lot of shows now.
yea i did not like season 6 part 1 that much at all and tory becoming the bad girl again is so stupid and i hate it so much
Tory is one of my favorites and they undid all of her progress as a character at the last minute. What the hell were they thinking?
I liked a lot tye miyagi past sub plot actually enriches the character more filling some gaps on karate kid 2 and the fact of why Miyagi disliked tournaments
The Tory thumbnail part 😂
I don’t get the 5 episode structure there doing because this show is clearly split into 3 acts so nothing big really happened until the final episode and a weekly release schedule would fit this so much better
Possibly everything so far johnny and Daniel agreeing on the name miyagi do completely disregards there partnership (and adding an eagle with a bonsai tree in the back of the gi doesn’t change that at all)
Johnny is inconsistent he evolved and stood backwards at the same time him embracing miyagi do after running into a fan from 85 was good moment but fighting mike Barnes so Devon can get a chance to compete in the sekai tekai is crazy
Don’t even get me started on Daniel he’s still unlikeable and his glazing about Mr miyagi felt way to excessive this season and annoying and led Tory to cobra Kai he doesn’t even notifie Johnny that he’s training Miguel and Sam in the forest that’s something Daniel wouldn’t do
Kreese literally goes from the valley to Korea to the valley again to Spain like how is he not getting caught it’s literally so jarring and dumb and comes of as cartoonish but kreese was always a cartoonish villain
Robby literally fought Kenny and Shawn just to force Kenny back into miyagi do just to never talk to him again
Devon’s plot line was irrelevant and started unnecessary drama between Kenny and Anthony which was resolved already
Tory going back to cobra Kai is massive character regression after everything that happened last season
Demitri is a crybaby and control freak for not letting hawk chose his own school
Johnny and Daniel’s bickering is so annoying when that resolved at the end of season 4 they should on the same page now it just feels like there running out of ideas
Hell yeah preach my boiii
Yeah you´re right probably the reason why this season felt off to me and it seems that a lot of people feel the same way.
I agree with everything except for the Daniel hate part.
Hang on everyone, we have only seen half of what is still yet to come for this season.
y'all really reconsidering everything since Part 2.
Question Why Are We Already At The Sekai Taikai
I actually think Johnny has been the villain in season 6. Trying to get Sam and Tory to hate each other again so they would fight better was messed up. He clearly showed no gratitude for Daniel giving him a job in fact anyone else would have been fired for how he treats the job. Thinking that pushing a clearly unhinged and unsafe Tory to continue fighting during a mental break down. Trying to unfairly influence mikes picks.
And keeping unrealistic promises to Devon and pushing Mike to get her in the team. I completely agree, and do plan in making a video about it.
He didn't push push Tori to fight during her mental breakdown. Tori wanted to fight during her mental breakdown. It was therapeutic for her. The LaRussos were in the wrong for not letting her fight.
@@trinketmage8145 good for her mental health as in Robby throwing Miguel out of a balcony because he wasn't also in a good mental state?
