Disneyland's It's a Small World facade is a work of art. I mean that in the truest sense, not just as a Disney enthusiast. Mary Blair's superb design, the wide expanse and architectural buildout, the clock and emerging dolls...it's stunning. The WDW version looks like a cheap knockoff.
Love your commentaries of Disneyland! I hope you have a great time in DisneyWorld. Weather is always better in Anaheim than in Florida! Florida is way too hot and humid for me. Keep posting because I find what you do is better than other bloggers. 😊
We were at Disneyland in the 21 and dca 22nd- and it was the perfect trip, we rode everything on our list and had the best time because I watched all of your videos. Thank you so much for all the tips, it made all the difference. 😃
Great video! I like Tower of Terror at Disney World better than Mission Breakout. I remember when California Adventure had Tower of Terror, and I liked that a lot. I really liked most of the line for Mission Breakout, but I didn't like the ride so much, for I felt it was too screen heavy. Moving on to a different ride, I am really glad that Test Track will be getting a thematic overhaul; it needs it. I like both Disneyland and Disney World a lot; they both have pros and cons, and both are a lot of fun. The next time we do Disney we want to do Disneyland. After that, I want to go back to Disney World. Have a good time at Disney World!
I’m super excited for your Disney world videos! Disneyworld intimidates me SO much- so I can’t wait to get more tips about it; which parks are best etc.
Just went to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and have the blues. Your videos have been great to help assuage the sadness. Love this video! Didn't realize that that were such differences between DL & DW version of the rides. I am not interested in trying out the DW version of Haunted Mansion (cuz I hate the Nightmare before Xmas overlay) and Jungle Cruise for that extra temple scene!
I was wondering if you were going to do a series of vlogs comparing WDW attractions to their DL counterparts since you will be in Florida soon. Seeing vlog comparisons of Pirates, Big Thunder and Small World would be interesting.
I have done this in the past. Long before I had any Disney viewers, and of course it didn’t perform well back then, but it might be worth giving a go again now. Here’s a link to the Pirates one: Pirates of the Caribbean Disneyland vs Disney World Full Ride Comparison ua-cam.com/video/ispPxJU02Tg/v-deo.html And Big Thunder: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad | Disneyland vs Walt Disney World ua-cam.com/video/EkfZNtuV-iI/v-deo.html Fair warning, they probably could use better editing. 😂
Hey, I love the Dinosaur ride at DAK! I love how aggressively bumpy it is…I wanna feel like I could be ejected from the vehicle and left behind in prehistoric times at any moment 😂😂 I’ve only been to Disneyland once, but I didn’t like Indiana Jones as much! Maybe it’s my adhd or maybe it’s bc I haven’t seen any Indiana Jones movies, but I feel like I missed something critical in the story bc I had absolutely no idea what was going on lol
I don't think i realized the Buzz blasters detach!! My score was horrible. Small world with the characters was actually pretty cool, it was a fun hunt looking for characters. I will say, WDW space mountain terrorized me over 30 yrs ago but i Forced myself to go on Hyperspace Mountain this week and I Survived!! WDW test track i think goes offline All the time. We skipped Radiator springs because the line was silly long and didn't seem worth it As an East coast girl, i really enjoyed DL a lot better than WDW, the smaller size was a win for me
Great video Traver! Disneyland and Disney World are so different compared side by side. Would you consider making a difference between the two of rides, attractions, and other things? Just a idea for videos. I been to WDW and love the ride Expedition Everest!!!
DL Haunted Mansion has the story advantage of actually walking into the house facade. At WDW you go beneath the house proper and enter via some strange entrance. Doesn’t work thematically.
I personally prefer the Subs over the Seas simply because of the nighttime ambiance (GORGEOUS) but I can agree with the rest of the video Except PPF too, the projections on the actual ride there are infinitely better to me
That would be fairly hard to do because you can only use LLs once, so we'd have to standby all the rides the second time. But I'm sure it's mostly possible.
One of the things that we were a bit surprised about, though we loved the facade in general and it’s use during fireworks,on our trip during March 30 to April 3 we found small world darker generally than it is at disneyworld. Not sure if it was problem the two days we were there or if a lot of scenes just on one side so less bright? Also much more of a nausea factor at guardians than there is at tower which would actually give disneyworld the win for me!
Going to Disneyland, Universal, Knott's. Santa Monica Pier and Venice beach in early June, can you make any suggestions for best means of transportation? Staying in Anaheim.
With that many places you really only have two options. You can rent a car or you can Uber. I would download the Uber app and price out how much it would cost to go all those places and then look at rental car prices, plus parking fees and see which is the better option for you.
I have a question about wdw. I know that wdw covers a larger amount of area compared to dl, however still holds roughly the same amount of rides as dl. So is there more walking distance between rides? Does it serve as a negative or a positive and does that mean wdw has more and better theming due to the extra area?
In general, we walk less at WDW because we stay in a single park all day. Whereas we hop all the time at Disneyland which leads to more back and forths. WDW definitely has more immersive lands and their queues are larger and more detailed than ours which are often just a chain in a line outside.
Astro Orbiter vs. Astro Orbitor, Tom Sawyers Island vs Pirates Lair, both Fantasmic shows, and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse vs The Adventureland Treehouse??
I feel like most folks from Europe only visit WDW given its proximity and more to do. But I think any Disney fan should visit the original park at least once.
@@Lordkurt-kd5td i live in the uk so i went every year growing up. Havent since 2015 tho. Ppl hype up space mtn bc it looks different but its horrific. So rough it ripped outnmy sisters earrings and gives everyone a headache
It’s a small world at Disneyland is outside because it barely rains there but at Disney World centet in Florida then it rains a lot in Florida unless you want to get poured on in the rain and also the amount of hurricanes and rain just the building doesn’t it doesn’t really matter to me because I’m actually faithful for it because I don’t wanna get poured on
Buzz Lightyear Ass Blasters always get the finger tired from constantly pulling that trigger. My family doesn't even bother shooting anymore and just likes to spin.
I be in Disney world in May and was in Disneyland a few weeks ago -I like Disneyland better with galaxy edge there, fantasyland rides, pirates and Halloween haunted mansion- Winnie Pooh area is nicer than Disney world plus Pooh corner. Plus for me Florida is three hours vs ca six hours
Pirates of the Caribbean is only better because the people that were making the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World didn't notice the backlash until it came
I think pirates it’s very noticeable but the rest are pretty similar. Tiki room used to be different but now Disneyland is better because you can eat dolewhips
Great Video! If your info is good, the video is secondary at best. Way too many Disney UA-camrs just wandering around the parks rambling. They may have 10 minutes of good info, but they stretch out to 30 to 60 minute video for some reason. I don’t really love this “live-streamer” style that is so popular among Disney UA-camrs.
I don’t like live streaming and I never do it. And when we do hold the occasional once a year stream it’s just at our house answering questions. When I film I attempt to be as “not” in people’s way as possible. If I start to walk into a crowded area I’ll turn the camera off or step off to the side. The trouble with making a video like this one that’s not in the park is that I’ll be wanting a particular shot of something and since I’m not there I can’t get it and have to rely on what I might have already filmed in the past. Which is sometimes not perfect. But I make do. It’s also a lot more work to do this type of video though that may seem counter-intuitive.
Congratulations dude I got a surprise for you they're going to convert a dinosaur ride into a Indiana Jones ride because what you just said the same right layout
Well listen when they built It's a small world for Walt Disney World they had to do it in a safe way just in case of hurricanes maybe you did not think about that three or four hurricanes that have hit Walt Disney World
Can someone explain to me the appeal of the hatbox ghost? He just has his head in a box? Doesn’t seem that special enough to take the W away from Disneyland, but maybe I’m just not aware
It’s not so much the Hat Box Ghost as it is something we had that made Disneyland special. And that was taken away from us. Not that the Hat Box Ghost was taken away, it’s still there. I just mean that the specialness of it being “Disneyland-only” was taken away. And since Disney World has a longer attraction with more scenes, it becomes the superior version. At least of the standard Haunted Mansion.
I agree with them all. Except Space Mountain. I can ride it at Disneyworld and be fine. I think it's because it's not a side by side seating. That is the only thing I can think of. Disneyland, my whole day is ruined. That's even with dramamine. 🤢

watching socal disney dad everyday (not anymore bc i forgot) until i go to disneyland, countdown 36/0 we are so close!
How about an all things ice cream video for Disneyland and DCA? For those of us looking for an ice cream fix at the parks

We used to be WDW passholders. I personally prefer DL over WDW. Food is better too. You should do a video on comparing WD food.

I been to WDW and love the ride Expedition Everest!!!
And also guardians of the Galaxy we have a guardians at the galaxy at Disney World two but it’s called cosmic rewind, and it has music too
What music was playing during the beginning of the space mountain b-roll? Reminds me so much of Main Street and has been stuck in my head for a while!
Yes, I use the Main Street audio track as background for these voice over videos. As if I filmed right there on Main Street.

Video ideal…do every lighting lane ride but twice .. in one day !!! For the big kids that skips the small rides… lol

I went on Jingle cruise when I was 4. It was Gummi Bears themed. They took it out. It's now a eating area I believe

Ive been to wdw once since i am from europe but is it worth going back to usa for a combined trip to disneyland and wdw or should i only do wdw again?
I feel like most folks from Europe only visit WDW given its proximity and more to do. But I think any Disney fan should visit the original park at least once.
Thanks for the answer! I really enjoy your videos. But a combined trip it will be then next time. How many days for disneyland do you recommend?
Disney paris’ thunder and potc are lowkey better. Thunder has a huge drop bc it rly is an island n u go under the water in a tunnel
I like to visit Disney in Paris but those flight costs oof

You should go to SeaWorld in Orlando during your trip👍🐬
Can’t wait to go in two weeks! Aaaaaaahhh! 🎉🎉🎉
Buzz Lightyear Ass Blasters always get the finger tired from constantly pulling that trigger. My family doesn't even bother shooting anymore and just likes to spin.
😂
Okay you have a drop tower versus a roller coaster Epcot
First! Amazing content per usual
Did WDW always have two Dumbo rides, or did they add one at a later time?
They've had two since they made New Fantasyland, which has been quite a few years now.
i will not accept the dinosaur slander!!!!!😂 my favorite ride at WDW
I love Dinosaur the Ride. I'm sad it will be closing.
California's Peter Pan's Flight has an interactive game in the line that can activate a lamp to have Tinker Bell appear.
wdw has that
You can say it's better but a different rides the only thing is really different are the scenes and the gun detects
The first time I went on Nemo in Disneyland I liked it. The second time it put me to sleep.
Pirates of the Caribbean is only better because the people that were making the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World didn't notice the backlash until it came
Dinosaur was terrible. So dark, you can barely see any of the Dinos. Definitely needing the re-theme. It feels bumpy with a purpose in Indie. 😂
I think pirates it’s very noticeable but the rest are pretty similar. Tiki room used to be different but now Disneyland is better because you can eat dolewhips

DL Space is far better because it's smooth and side by side.
HM overlay and better placement of the Hatbox Ghost at DL wins
WDW's Speedway does get a holiday overlay. Autopia is boring.
The Disney World Haunted Mansion is not better considering their Hatbox Ghost ruins the whole story. Ghosts go after the seance room.
Congratulations dude I got a surprise for you they're going to convert a dinosaur ride into a Indiana Jones ride because what you just said the same right layout

MORE SEA WORLD PLEASEE
Space mt is way more thrilling at MK and has two tracks
More thrilling does not always mean better. The Matterhorn is also more thrilling but more painful and less enjoyable than SM at DL.

I'll give you a ride you don't have Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic rewind enjoy going to Disney World to just write that
Tower of Terror is light years better than Guardians.
Perhaps for nostalgia purposes. But take out that factor, and Guardians is a way more fun experience.
That's right you're nothing
We quickly learned the duplicate rides are all better at Disneyland! 🎢🎡
