  • Michael Jackson-Bolanos, the suspect charged in the murder of Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll, took the stand in his own defense on Wednesday. Jackson-Bolanos said on October 21 he left his girlfriend’s home and was out looking for opportunities to steal from unlocked motor vehicles. “I had told her I was going for a walk, but I was actually going to look at cars,” he said. Jackson-Bolanos gave details of his route paired with surveillance video of him walking that night.

You’re currently engaging with this story on a media platform, specifically a news media channel. Stories gain widespread attention due to public interest…the media can only do so much. In our digital age, we all have access to media platforms and audiences via social media…which empowers all of us to share and amplify stories that matter to us.
Every year, there are hundreds of thousands of murders globally, with tens of thousands occurring in the US. Of these, a couple of thousand are stabbings. Thousands of women are murdered each year in the US. Roughly 10% of these cases involve strangers, meaning 400-600 women in the US are killed by strangers annually. While every loss of life is deeply significant and deserving of coverage, the reality is that public interest drives media attention. People tend to engage more with stories they can relate to or that have unique aspects that spark curiosity.
It's easy to blame the media for selective coverage, but as a society, we collectively have a powerful influence on which stories are “pushed”.

It's because in criminal justice there's a concept called false confession it's what happens when someone confesses under duress, in a delusional mental state or to protect someone else. Police rely on evidence not confessions. The boyfriend had no evidence placing him at schene, the defendant does including phone pings, cameras, and blood evidence. In this case the system isn't broken you're just an idiot.

I preface by saying I haven't seen the full trial so potentially biased. I find it incredibly odd that this guy would avoid conflict and confrontation all night, as evidenced by the CCTV footage, only to then go kill some random woman he's never met. That seems like quite a crazy escalation, even if he is trying car doors. It's pretty obvious he didn't want to encounter a person, or even give cause to be encountered (he could have smashed the car windows if he didn't care), so to enter someone's house where you absolutely are at huge risk of being encountered, makes no sense. The guy didn't even carry the stuff he took from the cars with him because he was so concerned about being seen with it and confronted. Could it have escalated to this degree? Sure. Maybe it's my own world view and experiences shaping my opinion, it just doesn't seem that reasonable to me.

He probably has no criminal record his parents knows he could never handle prison and more then likely he would take his own life in prison, his family has a little money and connections with the jewish community the ex is a sick man with a lot of mental issues clearly lets stop being so bias and judgemental of other nationalities and be honest human beings, the ex could not except her rejecting him so he took her life. he should not be a Dr. Of Any kind his licenes should be revoked indefinite unfortunately! now if this man is found guilty, he will serve 20/30 years in prison, then found not guilty after serving all that time for a crime he did not commit, and then become a millionare with our tax paying dollars for wrongful conviction. now tell me, is this real justice? we have seen this throughout history in the United States. Also, im not saying this black man is an angel he is not innocent he should not have been out breaking into cars or anything but he did not commit this murder, we dont no what we would do if we came across someone lying on the ground in the middle of the night we may try to shake them, speak to them to see if they are okay we may even reach down and touch them it was a cold winter night he should have called the police but because he was out commiting auto crimes that he should not have been doing but that doesn't make him guilty of killing this young lady we need real justice for samantha not charging a random person because they were out commititng dumb senseless crimes lets pray that Samantha receives real justice from the real murderer so her family and friends will be able to rest better at night 🙏

at 40 minutes and about 13 or 14 seconds, after he replies “absolutely not“ to one of the questions pertaining to whether he assaulted the woman, his eyes drift downwards he appears to lose focus On his surroundings, you can see his facial features droop slightly, he appears to be recalling some hing, reliving something, I can’t put my finger on exactly what he is experiencing, but it’s Not something good that he is reliving in his mind at that particular moment, you can see his chest move a little bit more rapidly as his breathing rate increases slightly. then he comes to and looks back up on the screen.
besides this he seems to have the disposition of a sociopath overall. He looks good in that suit though. If he just did his hair up a little better he would look rather professional. Barbers in jail are not the best.
guilty. and the murder was racially motivated, after all He was in a place, “he wasn’t supposed to be in” He said it with a tinge of indignation, doing things he wasn’t supposed to do. boosting cars in this neighborhood is a form of establishing dominance, but For someone like him, it is the ultimate expression of dominance to kill a woman such as that. men will hurt women in order to express dominance over other men. This is a common practice among more primitive people throughout history - rape and pillage and murder of another groups women and children as a way of showing dominance over that group of people and the men who are supposed to protect it. This is often observed in other primates as well. He sees himself as part of a different tribe and this murder was his way of establishing dominance over the other tribe.

    • @sooofisticated0499

@@joanbaczek2575 I would say based purely on his body language and his composure I would doubt his innocence, but I would also say that unless there is sufficient evidence, he should not go to jail or be found guilty. The jury needs to weigh the evidence, not just their read on his body language. But what I used to do in the military as an interrogator was read body language, and my base case looking at both of the interviews between the defense and the prosecutors respectively is that he seems to be a tad bit sociopathic, and at that point mentioned above, he was reliving something and he was getting excited about it, it wasn’t that he was showing signs of horror, he was showing signs of excitement When he dazed off. Maybe a little remorse and/or confusion too.
shock and horror is an emotion I am very well acquainted with 😉, And its very difficult to duplicate.
but at the end of the day, no man should go to jail unless there is sufficient evidence, especially forensic evidence, to prove that he is guilty. If the police weren’t able to collect enough evidence to do so, the man should walk. If so, Hopefully he won’t do it again, but I think he will, because he liked it.
Establishing dominance over another human being, or in this case, an entire “race” of human beings, releases serotonin in the brain, causing feelings of euphoria and invincibility, The “I can do anything” feeling. Seretonin is the same chemical released when one does any number of powerful psychotropic drugs such as, but not limited to, methamphetamine. Serotonin also clouds judgment as well, and even creates a psychological addiction almost immediately for more of that release.
Personally I find the entire concept of race to be dubious at best. “Race” can mean anything and nothing, but it certainly means something to this young man.

Bc if she is dead she's not talking but yet he said he figured she was of a different ethnic group. That just didn't sit well with me. So I'm thinking he seen her going inside her condo alone and he crept up behind her. Made her go inside. He rummaged through her place she was probably yelling or asking him do not hurt her which would give him the knowledge she had an accent she got out of her condo he ran after her with a knife from her place and stabbed her so she wouldn't get to anyone outside. Something don't sound right,,if she was hard cold and crusty then that mean that she was dead for a long time and if she was dead for a long time then her blood should of been dry so how did him simply touching her get blood all over his hands🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

He was no bum out there that night trying to do what he could to survive.
He was just a prowling thief with a management position where he worked.
He could afford to buy his own motor vehicle to rummage through. 😋

It seems to be the same person, although the backpack doesn't look the same to me and the timings don't seem to add up at first glance. Just with the videos shown here I'm not completely convinced. If I had to vote only by that evidence in this video it would have to be not guilty.

Yes he comes off as credible but the evidence is too overwhelming. He was spotted in the area at the time Sam was killed and had her blood on him.

This young man comes across very credible. He's composed; he is not hesitant in his responses and the case screams with police misconduct to convict him. A black man simply at the wrong place, at the wrong time. Indeed, his response as to why he did not bother calling the police rings true: a black man out committing petty thefts, stumbles upon the body of a dead white woman. That don't look good. No police officer would believe he did not do it. Hence, why we are here today hearing about the police's overzealousness and spin on the cell phone data evidence to convict him. He IS NOT GUILTY

He was in the wrong place at the wrong time, because he was committing crimes. That takes away from his credibility.
