A super interesting story-line would be that Martha Wayne had an affair with this reporter and named their son Thomas. In Hush's backstory we see that he is child-hood friends with Bruce Wayne. I don't know if this would work for a potential sequel, Just something I thought would be an interesting plot point.
Did they say her maiden name was Arkham, or that her family was Arkham? It could be her mother's maiden name where she was able to avoid the stigma and married a Kane.
