A brass wing nut is likely quite a rare find as I don't think they'll often be made out of brass these days.
It may be good for use in somebody's restoration project to be fair.
My God Michelle! That guy lost all his sinkers?? Probably had to go home after that! Fun Video and always Enjoy!!!! 😅👍👍👍
It's always the greastest finds like hooks that fishermen lose that makes me really appreciate the detectorist, like yourself!!! That could have been in some little childs foot for sure! Thanks Mish for more fun giggling with you. It always makes my day to hear you laugh!!! LOL
All hail the sinker Queen. Absolutely no disputing it. Lady lead is on the beach. Well done you enviro warrior. Would have been a heavy walk back to the car. See you very soon 😁👍
‘Lady Lead’ is my new favourite title. 😂
The poor finds pouch had a rough day that day, thank goodness the stitching is strong! Maybe next time I’ll find the Goose that Laid the Leaden Eggs.
Hope that billy is on the stovetop mate. See you in a bit 😁
Hi Mish, what a time? Today was sinker day for sure. At least you did find some coffee money and a nice lure.
Take care and stay safe till next time. ❤
This was Sinker Squad overload! What a spill! You have found the mother load. Now you need some coins. Although lead is running around $3/lb in the US. Great lighthearted and funny trip.
$3.00 lb for lead? I dug a 10 lb ingot or billet and tons of several lb chunks from duck decoys with God only knows how much other lead I've accumulated. Unfortunately lead is only worth about .40 - .45 cents a lb. I'm pretty sure copper is around $3.00 lb though
Wow that’s a lot of lead sinkers, imagine if it were coins. My goodness! Not bad though finding the coffee money. Have a great day and week.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
They are coins in a sense, while I don’t sell my jewellery finds, I certainly have no guilt in selling the lead, typically in dive weight form so people use it to appreciate the ocean. 😊 have a lovely week to you also!
Decent addition to the lead for your dive weights!! Quite the sinker spill 😁👍
This particular spot never ceases to surprise me with what’ll come out next. 😂 thanks mate!
Well when they say get the lead out, you follow through. Your fishing friends will be happy with your finds. A good day out on the beach even if you didn't get enough coffee money.
Thanks Marta! The fishermen won’t be happy with me, these are destined to be melted back down into diving weights. Nothing against sustainable fishing folk of course, but if I can help people get into the ocean as snorkellers and divers, I believe I can help them to appreciate the natural wonders we have beneath the surface. Cheers 😊
Sinker Spill! Well done Mish!
I had my hand in the air (like the kid at school) saying "30! Mish... I guess 30!" But, you didn't hear me. 🤣 Great clean up Mish and enjoyable vid, as always.
Apparently the sand heard you!! LOL thank you!
We all had that sinking feeling during this video. 🤣🤣🤣 Too bad it wasn't a coin spill. 🙄😮💨 See you next time, Mish. Take care.
Sinker squad 😂, three lead Easter eggs, not appropriate but someone’s had a spill of their tackle box.. flat battery bummer lol you managed a 7/11 coffee if you could call it that 😂
When we first started detecting we emptied the beach of sinkers about 30 lbs in a month. And a spill but we’re small ones, great hunt as always !look forward to you every week🎉
That’s an impressive haul! Thank you for taking it all off the beach. I really must get to making more dive weights with mine again soon, have been considering a dedicated lead melting pot due to the quantity of lead that I retrieve, easily a couple pounds per hour on my usual beaches. Have a lovely weekend 😊
@@DirtFishMish yes we dried up the lead there have not found much lately in lead
Hi Mish, looks like you were sinker-ing into the sand. They were very large sinkers as you say good to make diving weights. You nearly got a coffee but you had fun trying. Thanks for the video looking forward to the next one.👍
Those large sinkers are excellent raw material - easy to dust off all the sand and sediment before melting them down. I think they’ll serve a far greater purpose in dive weight form. Thanks Roy. 😊
Wow never seen those egg sinkers before - great work Mish - happy Easter
The Legend spare battery pack has saved me many times. I just leave it attached all the time, just not plugged in. I use a toothbrush cover to keep the connector clean and dry.
Lots of lead for recycling!
Clever tip! I take it off as I prefer my machines as light as possible, but I think I’ll start keeping it in the car more often. Cheers 😄
Cheers Mish, enjoyed the hunt. thank you
Mish I believe you are caught up on your sinker s. Great hunt for gray matter
I really like the Easter Egg's.I enjoyed your video and good day to you.
Great video Mish, I really enjoy them. Makes me keen to get out there and have a go.
Lead rich day. Nice coins. Happy Easter Australia.
Always great to see you, good, bad, or ugly finds. Take care and God bless, Mish! ❤
This was a great one!
Love to see your adventures in metal detecting and that your not afraid to get dirty!! A question on your scoop - especially the handle. - we bought the scoop but need the handle - what is the length/ you use and can we get it here in the US? Our sand here at our beaches are very hard and we have broke a couple of handles - money is adding up - thanks and happy hunting
Good job! Some good action.
great day for sinkers. LOL Any day at the beach is a great day out though.
I can’t help but wonder what people were thinking as they walked past, with me pecking sinkers out of the sand somewhat like a chicken would eat feed pellets. LOL
(I guess on those egg sized sinkers, the word you were looking for was "volume" vs quantity.)
Morning Mish, it seems you might have found the efforts of the golden goose's less popular cousin, of course if anyone was going to find a nest of sinkers... Well need I say more! perhaps it was a protest to your east coast adventure!... I guessed 7, I missed, no prize for me! Cheers Mish!
The poor goose that had to lay these eggs… 😂
I must admit though, it was nice to have a hunt that brought me back to reality. It sure is fun to be back on home soil/sand. Cheers Wayne!
@@DirtFishMish Good to see you back there! Hooray Mish!
Hurray! New Mish! Thank you for giving us some awesome detecting footage. As always, your vids are fantastic :)
Wow lot of sinkers
I am so glad I got the backup pack with my Legend. I am constantly forgetting to check the battery charge level. Using it only for a couple hours in the afternoons, it sneaks up on me.
Looks like it was a fun trip overall though and you turned out a really great video Mish! I’m looking forward to many more!
"Stonking" is that an Aussie word? In the U.S. we would say honking as in those were some big honking sinkers. Nice relaxing video to watch. Take care Mish. Your buddy, Roelf
Honestly, I may have made it up 😂 but I swear I’ve heard it said before. Who knows. LOL thanks Roelf!
SSG (Super Sinker Girl) strikes again. LOL. The sinker magnet. Lose your sinker? just call sinker girl and you will be able to cast again.
ah, that magic foot work...lol
Forever doing the foot sweep!
very good, parachute drops here a hug from Brazil
Great job cleaning up God bless and stay safe
Thanks Terry 😁
Hey Mish out with the Legend again 4 min in I reckon at least one florin lol the Legend loves silver 🎉lol three lead Easter eggs
It's rare the Legend has a break from the silver, man it has been dynamite on them!! I hadn't considered the irony of uploading the egg sinkers on Easter weekend, but it works. haha cheers mate.
You can now afford that coffee...........lead is about $1.50/kg (clean). Great footage, I wish I had a beach 150 km closer.
And I wish I had goldfields several hours closer! ha ha... we work with what we have until we can travel to our preferred destinations. :)
Thingy-do & the stonking sinkers had me in fits of laughter!! Sinker Squad applauds your spill of sinkers!! 🤙🏻🤙🏻 Great fun video Mish 😃😃😃😂
Thanks Cap’n! 😁🏴☠️ Knew you’d appreciate this one 😂
@@DirtFishMish 😂
Snows almost gone over here in the U.S.Time to dig pretty soon.
I’m excited for you!! 😁
Good video thanks for sharing
Cheers, Robert!
What is a bait pump? Keep finding stuff Mish.
Should be able to get some pics on Google pretty quickly, but essentially it's a tube pump (like a bicycle tyre pump) used to suction items up from sand, typically bait (worms, shrimp-like critters etc) however might also be used when prospecting gravelly creeks and the like. :)
nice one Mish!
Hi Mish
Some days the goldie Gods shine upon you and some days the sinker Gods shine upon on you no matter what Gods they are it's always great out there swinging.
You’ve nailed it, Walter - always a good day out in nature, regardless of the finds. Have a lovely weekend mate. 😁
Mish, you know there is an option on the legend, that allows you to quickly turn on and off the speaker while detecting and using the headset. IDK about everyone else, I however enjoy hearing the tones while watching an MD video.
Hi Pat, I’ve used this function in a few videos with the Legend, it is handy to have. It is my personal choice not to use it out loud in a busy public area and attract or disrupt a crowd, the tones are still audible but they are quite soft. I run them externally where otherwise feasible. Cheers. 😊
@@DirtFishMish true, i once forgot my headphone while detecting in a park where there was a children's soccer game going on lol not an experience I want to repeat lol id rather face a swarm of mosquitos than a swarm of kids like that again.
@@patprop74 oh dear, that would’ve been intense! 😂 yep, it gives me anxiety when a crowd comes over to watch, a big part of the hobby for me is tuning out to the world and enjoying the solitude. I can however see the irony in then presenting it on video for the world to see. 😁
@@DirtFishMish Exactly, Like Lance said in the show seasion2 eps 6, detectorists are solitary animals that only gather in vast herds once a year. haha, and there is a difference between sharing your solitary hobby with other hobbyists half a world away and having to explain to someone local what it is you are doing, haha, sometimes I ll even go as far as wearing one of those orange work security vests, just so people think I'm working for the city and leave me the hell alone hahaha That last one was a joke haha although the thought had crossed my mind a few times.
Great entertainment Mish , always fun watching you .Cheers
Thanks Kevin! 😁
Very nice 👍🏼
25 sinkers and the large weights are trolling weights for big lures at sea
Such an odd spot to find those sinkers, I wouldn't have said it was the ideal beach for those. Cheers Phill!
Breakfast? Scrambled sinker eggs!
Sounds a little crunchy.. and potentially lethal! 😂☠️
You might have coined a new popular word, there. "Stonking", huh? Let's see if it takes off. : )
You are lucky i the UK we are band from detecting on the beach
I heard there were some rules changing over there! Sorry to hear that. 😞
Very nice video sir
The washer and wing nut is off a bait pump..
Yup! I thought I mentioned it in the video, maybe I missed it. I find them quite frequently in this area. I’m thinking of buying a bait pump for river panning, guess I’ll never be short of washers or wing nuts. 😂 Cheers!
Sinker Heaven😂
Hey Mish, you make the Sito look so easy. Not sure how tall you are…I’m 160cm tall. Do you use the 1000 or 1300mm carbon pole? Ordering mine today :) thansk
I’m not much taller than you, and I’m pretty certain mine’s the 1000. Remember that the scoop attached to the end will make it taller 😊
I don’t find sifting the mixed hole scoop to be easy unless I’m in the water (that’s why I generally dump the contents on the sand if I’m on the beach) but it’s a beast for digging a decent size hole! 😊
@@DirtFishMish wicked! Lucky I asked. 1000mm it is. Thanks again for your advice.
Nice hunt. Do you have enough lead now? ;-) I had a coin spill similar to this at a playground this week. I pulled 31 coins out of less than a meter, square. Crazy! Kid lost his entire piggy bank on the playground. Does that trick with raising the detector above the ground also hold true with the Equinox?
Hi Marti! Congrats on the coin spill, that sounds like it would've been so much fun to dig! I never have enough lead. 😂 But truthfully, I do enjoy removing it from the beach, lead in such significant quantities can't be good for marine life and especially not for curious children that would handle it if they found it in the sand. Re: raising the detector, was this with regard to detecting cans? (Sorry, I can't remember what I was referencing in the video) If that's the case then yes, it absolutely also applies to the Equinox. Aluminium cans are highly conductive and the signal will be 'heard' from further away than a lower and/or smaller conductor. Test it out, dig a few targets and see what you get 😊 Happy hunting!
@@DirtFishMish Thanks for that tip! I'll try that. Talking about getting the lead off the beach, when we have the sargassum seaweed come in, I go and specifically detect the piles for fishing weights and hooks...also pick up all the plastic that's caught in it. I'm the only detectorist on the Space Coast of Florida who is happy when the seaweed comes.
@@flamingomtn I once found a full Pandora charm bracelet with several charms in a seaweed pile… anything is possible 😉 keep up the great work and thank you for removing such hazards from the beach too!!
Sinker squad is happy today. Florin friends, not so much
It’s rare that the Legend doesn’t find silver for me lol… I’m sure we will rectify that once the incoming wintery weather starts eroding the coast in places! Cheers 😁
Amish, since you’re in prime gold country, have you considered tagging along with a gold crew and getting yourself some treasure?
I’m actually not based in the goldfields at all, unfortunately - far from them - I just travel that way every so often. Definitely keen to make such arrangements where the schedule permits in future. Cheers 😊
Wearing a winter jacket with 'thongs' on...good look!
😅
Try doing that over here in the UK though Mish!
🥶🥶🥶
I’ve worn that combination down to almost 0°C, so I’d probably give it a shot! 😂
@@DirtFishMish you guys get warm rain over there though.
When the rain is colder than the air blowing around you...which is itself actually colder than the actual air/ground temperature in your area...you'll maybe think differently though 🤭
@@weedfreer that’s not the case down in my state… I’m on a coastline that faces Antarctica. 😉
I'm letting this video sink in. : )
It’s a ‘weight’ off my mind to see you checking in! 😆 Cheers Tana 😄
@@DirtFishMish Good one! LOL!
Geez leave some sinkers for others to find.. 🤭😂 Was that the Nokta's first non gold day?
It's actually the Deus II that has been pulling an obscene amount of gold lately! The Legend seems to be more of a silver magnet, though maybe not on this day LOL. Cheers Brett :)
@DirtFishMish Ok that might be what I'm thinking of, knew the Nokta had a run of something going
@@oges74 it’s first dozen or so hunts found silver every time. It was insane 😂
Thingy - doo = trumpet valve?
I want to know who was playing their trumpet in the ocean - but that’s the best lead I’ve gotten on it so far! Thanks Dug!
Wear foot protection.
Broken glass 😢..🌹🕊️
I got to get out soon. Time for me to get a tan and for you to lose yours. A northern southern hemisphere issue.
I’m very proud to say that the tan on my feet lasted all year, you could make out the thon… err, flip-flop tan line even in winter. 😂 I’m not ready for the cold yet! 😂
I'm first here great clip as always Mish ❤
Thanks Dave! 😁
