The old man with the axe he was my favourite player also the woman with the dragon if you collect all the magic tokens. I just love seeing the dragon appearing on the screen firing at the bad guys. Bring back so many memories this game me and my little brother always play this in hard mode when we go the dark gurd chambers in the final game stage boss we pass the boss to each other saying to me, to you, to me. AH AH AH
I like that you started with the barbarian. He was my favorite. Medium physical strength, medium magic. Normally not great, but when the other characters are a mix of the two extremes (dwarf: best physical strength, weakest magic, Amazon: worst physical strength, strongest magic), I think being good but not great at both is better.
I liked Golden Axe 3 the best because it was the toughest to beat. This sequel and the First game were classics but easy to beat because the enemies were easier and could be lured off the cliffs. The AI was much smarter in part 3. I love the Golden Axe series
When the intro is shown and the muisc starts, the music is very serious, and then the screen appears where you can press start at around 3:10 and the music suddenly transforms into a casual sonic the hedgehog kind of music. Very non-golden axe in style

Really liked part 2. The level music was epic. Hated the bleh! sound effect of the average enemy death tho. Wish they left the first games enemy death sound effects. Great games. Golden Axe series kicks ass.
Funny that it can take an average of around 20-30 minutes to actually finish the game. But back then as a kid it took me a while to beat the game and still I had a lot of enjoyment playing this game. What ever tactics you used in this game, it's funny that I used the same as a kid. How does the "Player Strength" work after you complete a stage? Sometimes I get high score, sometimes it's low.

It's been a long time since I've thought about this game, so it wasn't until yesterday that I realized that the three main characters' magic represents one of the four elements. The dwarf's boulders represent earth, the barbarian's tornadoes represent air, and the Amazon's fire is, well, fire. For some reason, there isn't a fourth character who does water magic.
Why does nobody use their special movies (press B and C simultaneously)? Like Gilius Thunderhead will spin in a circle on his axe. So much cooler and does more damage.
You know it was a gross time to be alive. None of these people showered that much. Very likely, our here would have a disgusting bowel movement and not only fail to wipe, but would not see water for a long time. I would imagine his pubic hair was long, and made the maidens gag.

I remembered this game being soo difficult on Genesis. Played it on an emulator years ago, super easy to beat first playthrough.

That’s the bad thing about it. Some enemies will gang bang you. Plus it offers NO easy mode and you get limited continues.

In the original game (first one), they scream, “Asauuugh!” When being killed. On the Sega CD compilation CD, they go, “Ow!”
