I had the pleasure a couple years ago of meeting Fran when I was doing camera for a shoot when she came by the city for her book and her "Cancer Schmancer" tour. As nice and polite and kind she is, she's also as funny. I couldn't stop thinking of this clip.
"i love water, i often get thirsty.." i love fran drescher she is amazing wish i could meet her just once i have decided that she is my aunt but she doesnt know it yet.... =)
this may be not as good as the aussie one. but ... no one can take the point out of her answers to the questions. the answeres were kick-ass. combined with her unique voice this was probably one of the best performances on american TGYH
TGYH is an Australian original TV show. The US bought the show format, including the scenarios/scripts, hence Byron Bay. Just looked it up and Peter Rowsthorn did this Byron Bay scenario in the very first episode of the show.
OMFG!! the necklace she's wearing is the one, from the nanny, when max's brother came and was gonna marry Fran and gave her that necklace!! it's like 5:57
7:02 - "...Your condescension was almost Presidential." Whoa, I had just been thinking how perfectly Fran's "Look: pristine... boom... pristine again!" bit mirrored Trump's outlook. (And this show was from 2007.)
I agree with you! ;-) Fran is TOTALLY a goddess! Such a great role model! How cute was it at the very end when she flashed the peace sign to the audience? I loved that!
"Ms. Bumblebee" Whoehahaha "xcuse me i've got a question!" "Nice gentlemen over there!" "How ya doinggg, listen ehhhhh" "What did you say your name was little Richie?" LMAO.
I didn't think she did too bad. I mean I have seen worse ones on the Aussie version. I think she did pretty good. Kept her calm and surprised me a couple of times. I liked it.
Oh I had no idea the Americans copied this Aussie show. I have to say I'm a bit surprised they copied it so closely. Byron Bay is very well known in Australia. They could at least have changed the name of the bay to make it LOOK like they tried to come up with their own material. ROFL Anyway - despite all that Fran did a great job. The Aussie version is funnier tho - sorry yanks. I know it stings to hear that but it's the truth. ;)
Thats the point. It has the potential of not working, raising the stakes and making it more entertaining when it actually works. Nobody gives a fuck about some random improv actor from Australia, even if they are "great" at improv; whatever that means.
Speaking as an Aussie...; THE U.S. VERSION IS GREAT ! so much fun. Every country's is different and I can deal with it....... can you??? BWAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA. (laughs maniacly while wringing hands and grinning like a cat on crack).
yeah i remember the aussie one... it was really similar, but it had a model as well a picture... and the aussies did it first... but Dran Drescher is awesome at it...
Pretty much is the point. The celebrity walks in having no idea what the scene is about. The only thing that gives them a slight clue is their wardrobe, of course.
actually the voice she used in the nanny is her real voice but she took voice lessons which lead to the voice she used in ALF-she couldnt get any gigs with her natural voice but then she couldnt get any gigs with her other voice so she went back to her real voice she played it up a ton for the nanny as you can see in this video its not as nasal as ibn the nanny
@@Bedside_table haha! True. Glad you commented. I enjoyed watching that again. The obvious aside i think fran did an awesome job. Some of the skits in this show can be quite cringy at times but fran nailed it.
I wonder if they used the name Byron Bay as a knowing wink at the Australian origin of the shows format. (Byron Bay is a tourist town in Australia) or if it’s just a random name someone came up with?
The Australian version is so much better. If you notice, in the Aussie version, the camera is on the set the whole time. The American version focuses on the audience in parts laughing away to try and give you the illusion that its funny. I thought she was flat in her delivery, it wasn't funny to watch and I couldn't see why the audience was laughing so hard, a small chuckle is the most this stuff deserves.
Fran Drescher is a national treasure. I've loved everything I've seen her in.
Love that bit of her saying "I really don't think you're the abriter of fine taste, sir."
Can't believe that was not scripted and rehearsed. It was just brilliant! She's really talented!
Aussie version of this is really amazing, and being brought back again this year.
I had the pleasure a couple years ago of meeting Fran when I was doing camera for a shoot when she came by the city for her book and her "Cancer Schmancer" tour. As nice and polite and kind she is, she's also as funny. I couldn't stop thinking of this clip.
Gold!
(Not just talking about her top)
Love that she had a spiel for everything.
I can't believe this was IMPROV!! she's so damn talented omg
"i love water, i often get thirsty.."
i love fran drescher she is amazing wish i could meet her just once i have decided that she is my aunt but she doesnt know it yet.... =)
This is the best of the US version I've found XD Fran is such a pro!!
She's incredibly funny!! I really had a good laugh :D
Lol this was so funny! She did such a great job.
She has such a charisma, so unique. I love her.
Her beautiful aura shine brighter through her personally. Simply love her
I love this show. It's rare that an Australian show is picked up and copied by America and the UK :) Go Aussies!
Fran never gets old
i LOVE FRAN DRESCHER!!!!!!!....SHE IS MY FAVORITE ACTRESS!!!!!!!!
This deserves more views!
How I get through my presentations
wow who knew how amazing she would be at improv!
this may be not as good as the aussie one. but ... no one can take the point out of her answers to the questions. the answeres were kick-ass. combined with her unique voice this was probably one of the best performances on american TGYH
this show is an epic invention! thank you Australia
lol i love fran in everything she is and especially now
Lol, I live near Byron Bay. Weird they used an Aussie location on an American show. Love Fran though. She should come visit.
Horrible place...one road in one road out. Mullumbimby is nice little town though.

I Love her smile!
I didn't know that there was an American version of TGYH. I don't know, I kinda like the Australian one better.
This only lasted for a few weeks in 2007. I wish it would have lasted longer.
To be more specific, NBC cancelled it after just 7 episodes. April 9 - May 14, 2007
Fran is FRICKIN AWESOME!!!! I'm in love with her voice, she can say anything at all, and It will always be funny. Her laugh is just...Marry me Fran.
Probably one of the best segments of this show ever!
I know the Australian version if infinitely better, but Fran did a great job.
What Fran said ??
What everybody say in this video ??!!cause I understand a little except they speak so fast and I understand more the writing .
SHE KILLED IT WHEN SHE SAID ( we had a couple of non union workers ) too funny hilarious
Simply the best !Fran
She's so good lol comedy genius
7:02 - "...Your condescension was almost Presidential." Whoa, I had just been thinking how perfectly Fran's "Look: pristine... boom... pristine again!" bit mirrored Trump's outlook. (And this show was from 2007.)
Well done Fran, you really kept yourself cool
such a talented woman =)
Oh snap!.....Fran with that clapback about that guys shirt.!!!!......I wasn't expecting that...LMAO
Omg this was hilarious, i literally never stopped smiling during the whole video!! : D
"We had a couple of non-union workers" - Fran Drescher, SAG - AFTRA President
This was Fran's training for the strike moment.
Wow she did so good. I would have cried and ran away.
Nailed it, love!
Fran is beautiful, incredibly intelligent/witty!!!!!!!!!
I love Fran!!!
omg! she's so good! very good improv xD

I like so much.....
I think Fran did great. ^^ She gave hilarious answers, and very quickly too.
"Judging from the shirt that u'r wearing, I really don't think that u'r the arbourter of fine taste, sir" Lol.
LMAO the best Thank God scene I have ever seen!! (that, and I'm heavily partial to Ms Drescher...;D) She is SO good!!
Love the "couple of non-union workers" line at the end.
Best clip from the US version - Fran is a great woman
I didn't think she did too bad. I mean I have seen worse ones on the Aussie version. I think she did pretty good. Kept her calm and surprised me a couple of times. I liked it.
I love Franny
"we have a couple of non union workers"

She needs to be President of the United States...
LOL
This is so freaking funny!
I Almost peed on my shorts!

aww man i lov fran hahahaha
lmao! i love her! (:
This show should come back.
@tzuyd It was Peter Rowsthorn in series one who did the Aussie equivalent
Gotta love Fran!!!!!

what the fuck does this say?
The problem with the australian show is that nobody knows who the actors are outside of australia. Half the show is seeing celebrities try improv.
That's the problem. IF they hired improv people (like Colin Mochrie) the LOLs would break the LOLometer.
Using celebs, it's hit and miss.
Mostly miss.
Thats the point. It has the potential of not working, raising the stakes and making it more entertaining when it actually works.
Nobody gives a fuck about some random improv actor from Australia, even if they are "great" at improv; whatever that means.
they also copied it in Russia, UK and lots of other countries - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thank_God_You're_Here#Distribution
YES!!! hehe
GO FRAN, WE LOVE YOU!
;-)
@FranFan4Life I love what you said I agree so much
Fran Drescher ftw!
so fine

Is this the Byron Bay in Australia?
i never new her voice is actually like that in real life. i thought she acted it out on the show 'the nanny'. lol ha ha
This is actually better than I thought it would be I expected it to be crap.
this clip is taken direct from one of the aussie sketches.
This was a fun show and should of LASTED MUCH, MUCH LONGER! :D
What is the point of this show? Is the celebrity thrown in there to improvise? I like it. Just curious. The Chelsea Handler one was hysterical!
Pretty much is the point. The celebrity walks in having no idea what the scene is about. The only thing that gives them a slight clue is their wardrobe, of course.
@Psjustin how can u see the australian one?
Miss bumblebee LOLOL
@candies229 its an improv show
as a Peruvian I also agree
Miss Fran was great !
@MJforever5690 As an Aussie, I agree.
Yeah it is.
This is TOO funny ! LMAO
See our Australia version You'll love it

Who was the guest for our australian version of this scene?
I hope Ms. Swan would appear in this show.
Why are yanks developing and Aussie beach?
Lucy Hunt because Australian politicians are sell outs.
@@neilterrey8789 no it’s the fucking script writers who are lazy

The most easterly point of mainland Australia is Cape Byron
