- A video of a pretty standard weekend for me. I have Friday afternoons off work and we usually chase the pheasants around, then do the same on Saturday and Sunday. I included some longer portions of video to show how Sage will move from passive to active to THERE'S A ROOSTER RIGHT THERE!!
Yippee--Yahoo way to go Nila!! Her best hunts yet. Super nice retrieves for a young dog with the best part being Sage letting her have the birds. Then the follow-up with her getting that last find & flush:) The girls gave you a nice pre-Christmas present!
Indeed. The past few weeks have really seen the puppy figuring out what she is supposed to be doing.
Good video! I like the way you hunt! Quiet and keep up with your dogs. Best way for wild, public land birds!
@@janeearick1213 thanks! Public land birds are as challenging to hunt as any other bird out there.
Good Hunt thanks
nice work!
Awesome content as usual. Sage with the flushes, Nila with the retrieves. Job specialization 🤣
Ha! Thanks!
Great video Lu! Keep them coming!!!
Thank you! Hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas.
Great hunt
Game Production Area. LET'S GO!!! Nila's gettin' the retrieves down lickety split.
@@GoldenSkye she does okay, but if there’s any life left, she feels compelled to extinguish that flame. 😂
Sage… good doggg!!!
Yes the snap chat notifications from random people is annoying to say the least, Tara sees them and asks me who they are 😂 Tough late season birds, Sage has not slowed down a bit, nice hunt Lucas!
@@timwagenmanuplandadventure8270 thanks, Tim! It’s always some random twenty something lady that my wife sees pop up.
Is perfect
Love your videos, anyway I can get one of your pheasant stickers that you use as youi logo
I always enjoy watching Sage hunt, and now Nila is catching on. I have a 6 month old golden that I hope to have with me next fall. May I ask what gloves you wear for those late season hunts? Thanks very much!
I just got back from an eastern SD trip. Still finding birds on public land, great to see a good number of both roosters and hens.
Thank you for the kind words. I have a pair of Sitka Gunner gloves that I wear all season long (except for those early season hunts when i don't need gloves). The only change is that I put a handwarmer in each palm on the cold/windy days.
That's great you're still finding birds. They're a challenge this time of year, but that is what makes hunting them so worthwhile!
@@jcwoutdoorsare you using Hot hands toe warmers in your Gloves 🧤?
@@wallacerose7499 No, just the regular hot hands that come in a two pack, one goes in each palm inside the glove.
It's nice not seeing you fighting snowbanks up to your arse, lol.
True, although I would gladly take 6-8" of snow right now!
Digestive issues is a good time to get them out in some grass lol
What brand and shot size do you use 6:34

What percentage of the birds you harvest are spring of the year?
@@RandallVoorhees Good question. Obviously it varies from year to year, but with the good nesting conditions this past spring, I’ve harvested more spring of the year than usual. But to make a guess over the years, 3/5 are spring of the year. This year is probably closer to 2/3 first year birds. Not sure. That’s a good question and something I should monitor.
Lu. what has been your overall shot size (5) ? Federal ? and what choke size. LM ?
