By far the hardest boss in the game for me, given where I was in my build. Realized I started it way too early in game. vietnam flashbacks from this one man.
I was playing a net runner and my build was not ready All i remember is running from explosions and trying my best with a goddamn pistol that fight took so many retries
@@LORD_PINKY_DINKSI played netrunner too and got really freaking lucky on that one because I also specced for smart weapons and was using a smart sniper rifle as my main. Every single shot homed in on a weak point and since the Ashura has one round in every mag and I had microgenerator on my second hand slot every shot also let out a huge EMP which sometimes hit multiple weak points, it was great. But yeah, don’t sleep on Ashura plus micro-generator, it basically gives you a long range headshot only homing EMP grenade launcher that erases whatever you aim at and severely fucks up everything around it.
The only boss to fuck me up more was, for some reason, Yasha, the dude who's protecting Rinder in the revenge gig. Something about the tight ass environment and him turning invisible to find healing stations really fucked me up. Not to mention the fist of God he calls a shotgun.
The fight was disappointingly easy for me, even on VH with difficulty mods (not a flex). Tech is just too good; a decent sandevistan with a tech shotgun, and you just run in immune for like 12 seconds, oneshot its parts, and hide again
@@gravey_official realized the same thing later in the game. For me it’s tech precision with chain lightning + sandy + katana for close combat. ATM I am not finding any boss battle hard at all.
It's the most suitable theme for a giant armored turtle, who's shooting at you from all its orfices, making you run around the arena like a crazy cat in fever, barely giving you a few seconds to try and damage it. Sheesh, i had so many retries at it, i even started to hate the music. But now i love it again, as i remember the intensity i had. One of the best bosses in DLC, despite the "boss tank" cliche. I love this theme. It retains the more slower professional corporate mood the normal militech combat theme holds. Whilst also keeping the recognizable beeping tempo motif from the militech ost throughout the chimera theme. Except it's more louder, in your face, and like a blaring alarm.
the single best combat track in gaming. absolutely perfect, sets the pace, intensity, and absolute unrelenting ferocity of the fight perfectly. playing it feels like a rhythm game every time, and the way it keeps building without ever hinting at resolving itself musically never fails to make me panic.
Also in late stages of the game you See this thing repaired being presented to arasaka agents. In the Notes the engeniers state that they cant interface the ai but could bring ut bag via powergrid jumpstart i started sweating.
@@TheAussieBlue thank Bartmoss for that but Barghest has recovered and repaired it but cant control the vehicle ai and has therefore put it on hold. Also i believe the chimera had an Ai in it from the start. Project cyno sends its regards so basicly song woke up a very angry ai
The game doesn't explain why it never went into production but the in-game description for the chimera mentions that Arasaka engineers criticized it for being very vulnerable to air attacks, and that only 13 prototypes were ever built.
That's because it locks on to random parts of it, and it's only really powerful when the rockets are closer together. The closer the rockets are, the better
@@caseyogden7105 no, it can be read as 6/8 but that's not the same as 3/4; 6/8 can still be counted as 4/4 as you still have a group of 4 quarter notes but 6 eighth notes within those, whereas 3/4 implies groupings of 3 quarter notes. I think it's fair to just call this a 4/4 with eighth note triplets

We weren’t trapped in there with the Chimera. It was trapped in there with me.

The goddamn ray gun of that thing surprised me hard at the first try

Such a damn banger
The chase phase of the song is a hella banger
I beat this boss just now, amazing for the game, can't wait to continue on!
Cyberpunk 2077 has some hard hitting boss fight music. I love it when the fights start and the music kicks in.
It was an AWESOME homage to Ghost in the Shell!
Glad more people notice this.
Also, this fight was amazing

The most horrifying feeling was hearing the flechette turret charging and having zero cover nearby
They should have added the Chimera at the Barghest Headquarters. They literally had one there almost prepped.
I gotta say it somehow sounds better when things are exploding all around you
This whole game mashed up Masamune Shirow’s Ghost in The Shell so good. The whole boss fight goes so hard

my favorite part was when so mi was like "t's Chimerin' time!" and then chimerad all over the barghest

second I saw this thing I fuckin knew I was gonna have to fight it eventually

Chimera: 😂
Sentinel bot:😵
The panic I had running and hiding from that killer bot 😂. I haven't felt like that since I was a kid running from the Dahaka in prince of persia.
