Great tutorial! You're an excellent instructor. Laughed at the "we're gonna have to have a talk" comment. Love the orange horn cover. I agree, I could never have let that logo on upside down.
Their is a small link from the trans that makes it easier and a move direct shift as well as a better find neutral n shift u cant tell but it isnt as the twin cams the m8 has a up and then toward the front i think maybe krauss like a jay shape link from trans to what you just put on
What's up Donovan,i changed my shift linkege when i bought it,and i changed my toe shifter,i changed it to the arlen ness chrome heel toe shifter,i have the harley chrome shift linkege.
According to the instructions, you did not install it correctly. Where did you get the washers? This is what it comes with: 1 Shifter rod lever cover, polished Shifter rod lever cover, gloss black 33890-99A 34022-08 2 Self-aligning rod ends (2) 33899-08 3 Locknuts (2) 7326 4 Acorn nut 7904 5 Cap screw (2) 4192 6 Shifter rod Not Sold Separately 7 Spacer (1999 FLSTS models, 2000. What you are calling the thick washer is a ''SPACER'' and goes on the rear linkage, not the front and at the front, no washers just the acorn nut. If you bought this used and did not receive the instructions, you can go to Harley parts, select your bike, go to PARTS, then go to FOOT CONTROLS, then to DETAILS and then you will see the installation and parts list. Or Google Part Number: 33760-09 then find it on Harleys site. The cover you may see listed, you do not use.
Thanks for the detailed info but I purchased this brand new and followed it to the letter. The thick washer or spacer goes exactly where I placed it which is in the front of the ball before driving it through the hole. Then the thin washer goes non followed by the nut.
@@larrywilson7933 I take responsibility when it’s on me. If you know anything about these shift rods then you know that it goes on only one way. I spoke nothing but facts in the video
@@larrywilson7933 I know!? On top of that I am pretty sure he removed each Heim joint so the Emblem is right side up instead of just flipping it over. I tried to tell him but he wouldn't listen to me?
Thanks for being on point RFN! Your feedback helped me a lot. I had no idea that the logo was upside down.

💯
Bar and shield is upside down. Also, front heim joint is positioned on wrong side of the (chrome) shift linkage arm.
After switching the ends on the new linkage did you check the length with the OEM linkage?
Bro is that upside down? lol otherwise nice video
Yup but I corrected it. The human side kicked in but then I became Ai again.😂
I think adding the orange trim will really would set that off!
I like the look of that rod, ill have to get that!! Nice instructional video. Thanks.
Thanks for the video sir. Just switched mine out! Your video was even useful for a different linkage.
Glad it helped
Thanks for your video, help me very much! 👊🏻😎

Thanks for sharing!! Just got mine today and about to install it
What kind of thread locker is that? Looks like a paste
If you can screw in a light bulb, you can do this. I’m sorry. I got a laugh over that! Good job my friend!
🤣🤣🤣

I would do it right the first time, hey....but thats just me ,slim!!
How do you do everything right the first time in life without making mistakes? But hey, that’s just me.
My long shot in the way…. Just gonna need me some patience.

BigMike from Gainesville FL
It adds a great look to the bike.
Bang on pal awesome
You put it on upside-down 😢
I know. I actually made a correction, but you do know it works both ways without fail, aside from the logo. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
U didn't have to back both screws out just flip it over
💪🏾
Tighten those nuts up so linkage doesn't rotate.

@@ridefitnation No, if you look at the picture in the instructions there are no washers and the spacer (no. 7) goes on the rear.
You haven’t figured this guy out? He said the company put the logo on the wrong side! Of course he couldn’t take responsibility for doing it wrong.
