17:38 Every single sound you hear a loopstation is created by the mouth, but you can apply filters to said noise, so here he's most likely just singing in falsetto, but with a filter on, so its still super impressive because his pitch is perfect :)
@@brennendodd187 The sound at the timestamp was the angelic (for lack of a better word) singing which is just him singing with filters, his mouth is open so I don't think it can be a siren. If you were referring to the electric guitar then yeah it's most likely a siren (done vocally no FX) plus filters. I think the main one is probably distortion of some kind, I can't say with 100% certainty that it's what Zhang Ze used, but siren+the right type of distortion can definitely get a sound similar to an electric guitar.
Just so you understand better the loopstation techniques : when you asked if Zhang Ze did that sound with his mouth, the answer is yes and no. Loopers can do one of three things when inputing their sound or voice into the machine to record : 1) mute it (so the listener gets the effect of surprise when they hear it already processed or looped, like Dice does often), 2) have it played without any effect while recording (so you make a note once, and apply an effect on it, and it's gonna be played with that effect afterwards) or directly have an effect on the sound output while recording (that's what M-Age does with his "bell" sound snare). Obviously you can add more effects on it after the first recording. Anyways, cool reaction, keep it up !
I really appreciate your reactions. Getting a perspective from someone with a music degree is awesome. I have loved music my whole life, beatboxed since I was a teenager, and even DJ'd for a bit in my early 20s but I do not have an education in the subject like you do. I learn a lot from watching your videos.
Keep it up the beatboxing scene is not easily done there’s a LOT more :) Wish you goodluck with everything Thanks for the efforts man and ye I learn some new information from you I appreciate it g!❤️
Man your perspective is the exact kind of thing I’ve been wanting to see; someone qualifying beatbox from a musical standpoint and pointing out why all of this stuff is so interesting. I think it’s great content for aspiring, and even established, beatboxers so they can really wrap their minds around the importance of structure. Keep it going please :)))
bro, your reactions are great! I'd love to recommend you react to helium wildcard gbb2020 world league. as a drummer yourself I'd think youd like him a lot!
19:35 yes, the electric guitar that he is doing is with is mouth, however i think there is also a little bit of reverb and some other effects to make it pop if u know what i mean. also there are tutorials on youtube on how to do that sound, cheers!
Some dont realize that part of the judging goes to how well your building actually spunds like music and not just quickly enter a bunch of sounds to mess with.
UA-cam suggest me your channel, in particular this vid, i'm so happy i found you out; this channel is so interesting. Keep it going, you have a new subb ;-)
13:30 as a rule, every sound produced has to come from the mic, but they can use filters, envelopes, etc to shape and manipulate the sound, just like a producer would do in a studio. Recently, the loopers are allowed a second device in addition to the rc505 loopstation that helps them achieve even more synthetic sounds from their beatbox. These beatboxers are very well practiced in sound design and mixing, and basically have to do what an artist and producer do together in a studio session, but by themselves and within a routine as well as taking on the tasks of a dj. 19:34 Zhang Ze (2nd place) is known for good mixing, so he is able to make his electric guitar sound a lot better, although the guitar sound can be done like Michael Winslow or using a variation of the "siren sound". Look either of those up and you will see what I mean )
19:37 yeah it produced with his mouth but with filters on loopstation. but u can hear similar guitar sound by a beatboxer called Madox on his video featuring Hiss "Summer NIght"
For sure the tag team (loop and normal) and the crew wildcards along with loopstation solo will be your cup of tea. It brings much more musicality and much less focused on the technicality that you will see in solo that really bars a lot of people out if they aren't already mentally invested in the community. Defo recommend checking out tag team and crew wildcards
3:25 he literally is btw and also he's apart of the tagteam Dreamerz (2 time american beatbox tagteam champions and also came 5th place in the Gbb 2021 tagteam qualifications) the other teammate is Pono my boi we're from hawaii
Yooo you should check out the new loop station wildcard winners for beatbox international, as well as bizkit versus dice (the finals of last competition)
The device can have effects like the Line 6 Helix for example. You still have to give it an input with your mouth so sing a note at a desired pitch to get the output that you want.
16:54 because i haven't seen anyone talk about this yet, Vocodah actually did a collab with Excision, one of the biggest dubstep artists out there (and one he covers quite often, as seen with his Headbangers and Neck Brace wildcards) which you can find in Excision's Lost Lands Detox set. you should be able to find it if you to go 50:20 at "Excision Detox Set Live @ Lost Lands 2019 - Full Set". cheers!
Cool video bro! It's awesome to see another marching percussionist get into the beatbox community. Just wanna clarify, it's not offset quarter note triplets in Matej's and Dice's wildcards; it's actually a 4:3 polyrhythm, which is very common to use in electronic music. Quarter note triplets would be 3:2. It's a subtle difference, but it's enough to where a 4:3 rhythm falls on the beat much less frequently than quarter triplets over a stretch of time.
loopstation can have a 'second device' and since Inkie they've mastered the Helix line 6. it makes harmonizing/filtered sounds so much easier. also they've started doing alot of silent recording
I guess you should check out tom thum rachet face if you are interested in beatboxer collaborations cuz in the video he collabs with an Australian orchestra. Btw you rock! Love your vids!

It’s probably a siren with a voice effect

Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 man. Love your videos.
Tritan, this sounds are effects of the looper bro
This specific division of loop battles allows for a second device vs the main loop category so yes there is an extra filter.

When it looks like their moving arround for no reason they can silently record and not display the noise to you immediately. Its really hard actually

From last place in wildcard to GBB champion.....
Bizkit made a great journey....❤️
We have got to see the D-Low 2018 compilation
