@@mfThump wrong, had the sz, no such firmware update, it was the internals of the mixer section of the sz which was based off the 900 nexus mixer, it was a hardware issue.
Ok, looks awesome. Now can we get one exactly like this but with dual monitors and completely standalone like the xdj-rx and running Rekordbox? A lot of us want to ditch the laptop. Standalones are the future.
I love my SZ but the limitations are with Serato which is making the RZ look just a little sexier with the 16 sample pads and the dedicated controls for the sequencer in Reckordbox. This refresh is aimed at non SZ owners who want to use Serato and desire dedicated controls for the popular features but honestly Rekordbox potential is too dope to ignore.
seems to be hard for Pioneer DJ to get Traktor Ready compatibility with theirs products. they are very limited on wich devices they can get a HID compatibility from Native Instruments. As example remember the CDJ-850 never get the promised HID traktor compatibility...
Should've added parameter knob for the sound color fx & replaced pitch for some other effect like gate/comp or space. On a side note are all fx also post crossfader or just post line fader?

it is a nice product, they added minor stuff, but what about record in and record out??? so we can add more midi controllers and remix on the fly??? now thats what i would call a monster of the greatest that it will surpass RZX....

i m owner of 2 controlers by Pioneer DDJ-SZ and DDJ SX2 . WONDERING why pioneer doesn't give the option also to play by Usb stick and 2nd why the put the faders order 3-1-2-4 and not 1-2-3-4 ???

I have the DDJ-SZ and I always upgrade when pioneer droos something new, but there no point with this one for me. Pioneer DDJ-RZX is the way to go for me.
Just another way for Pioneer to suck money out our pockets. Its cool and all and i have a DDJ SX2 that i use for mobile Gigs. But if you have a SZ already do you really need this. But I'm a 1200 user that can rock without all the fancy bells and whistles.
Musiq Is Entertainment that answer would be nope! This is aimed at would be new SZ owners. I wouldn't sell mine to upgrade to this one although the dedicated buttons are nice and ironically mirror the RZ.
SX2 --> SZ2? Yes, that's what I'm doing. The extra affects (oscillator, color, p'nt, etc), dedicated (and better quality) mic inputs/outputs and the dual-usb capabilities are what do it for me. SZ --> SZ2? Hell no. The only noticeable differences are a few features and the dedicated Serato Flip buttons which aren't really a necessity for Serato Flip although I do use Flip quite often.
pioneer are you kidding us . i cant see a difference between sz and sz2 . i was thinking of a real upgrade like usb sticks and screens . but am really disappointed with the sz2
That music was killing my ears. I cannot believe they choose this music to demo the new release. I understand they want to show off the different tools and effects but the music is too niche and I have a very wide range of musical taste. The unit looks good though. I just don't like Serato
Pioneer still thinks us DJs are stupid, we are tired of no innovation same controlllers, New Denon DJ looks pretty yummy right now, hope alot of DJ are making a switch because Pioneer has ben getting away with overcharging poor customers for way too long.

Yes, the software FX within Serato DJ are post-volume fader but not post-cross fader.

Mr Crap if you want to toggle between Serato and Rekordbox then get the SZ2 but if you are feeling Rekordbox more then go RZ.
the only diference between both are: The rz is only compatible with rekordbox
and the sz only with serato
