EXACTLY. ELLE WAS LIKE, WHY COULDN'T YOU HAVE BACKED THAT STUPID TRUCK UP FOR ME, I OWN THIS PATCH OF LAND AND YOU MADE ME INCONVENIENCED JUMPING OVER THAT BUSH INSTEAD OF MOVING. GRRR!
He wasn't upset at being laughed at (it was really more of a light chuckle). He was upset that the path was blocked by the vehicle, causing him to have to take a more difficult route.
It's that way most of time with the animals. Why should elephants give each other wide distances and can't get it back. Nothing wrong with giving animals respect..
@Playwright62 the video is of a baby elephant,, you see enough of them and you see that they are pouty toddlers. I totally agree that adult elephants are incredibly intelligent and I don't know if you knew this but they have some sort of religious ritual even, and are one of the few animals that can Paske the mark test.
Such an amazing moment - that Ellie was definitely not happy with James - it was very funny! Thank you for sharing this part of the drive! Hahaha, I love it!
I love it when they throw shit ! These magnificent animals and their DONT F**K ME attitude wins my heart ❤️ over! From the cradle to the grave! Much respect!
Wow, if David was filming, he did not make a move at the trumpet or afterwards. I jumped in my seat and I knew it was going to happen. These guides and staff are amazing. :)
JAMES......🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 REMEMBER ELEPHANT'S DON'T FORGET.....🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘 HE KNOWS YOUR & DAVID'S FACES,😖😖😖😖😖 THEY ARE ETCHED INTO HIS MEMORY BANK...🌟♥️🌟♥️🌟♥️🌟 FOR FUTURE REFERENCE....🤯🐾🤯🐾🤯🐘 🤣🐘🤣🐘🤣🐘🤣🐘🤣 THANK YOU GUYS, AS ALWAYS YOU PUT AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE INTO THE DRIVE.... 💞💞💞💞💞
I wonder what that IRRITATING SQUEEK sound was; either James' seat or it might have been what I've heard called a "go away bird" sound. Wonderful video absolutely hilarious.
@Pikachumoney - Elephant's are extremely intelligent animal's..... Their MOTHER'S teach them throughout their lives what to do to survive and protect their "children" baby Elephants. They teach them to find food, what is the best too eat, AWESOMELY TO FIND FRESH WATER, THEY WILL EVEN DIG DRY RIVER BEDS TO GET TO FRESH WATER, they're fussy about freshness of water. That stance He showed JAMES, was "I'M BIG AND STRONG- DON'T MESS WITH ME.... 🐘😂🐘😂🐘😂🐘😂🐘😂🐘😂🐘 I LOVE MY ELLIES 😂🐘😂🐘😂🐘♥️🌟♥️🌟♥️🌟♥️🌟
While I love seeing and hearing elephants trumpet, this was a trumpet that was not so enjoyable for me. At the end of this video James mentions something that was exactly what I had been thinking - that the elephant went through the thorny branches because he felt blocked by the car. He actually wanted to go around the branch, below the mound, but there wasn't enough room. He got angry, and trumped, with James for making him take the painful route. James did say that the elephant was a young adult and, therefore, didn't feel confident enough to have "told" him he wanted the car moved. An older, more confident elephant would definitely let James know, while standing near the front of the car. It was James' laughing that I'm not happy about. I felt bad for the ellue. But, maybe James hadn't thought about the situation happening because of the elephant's insecurity and the car being "in his way," while it was happening. Now that I think about it, I think (strongly hoping) that James wouldn't have thought it was so funny had he realized it wasn't so funny much earlier in the situation.
Jennifer Sherman I thought the trumpeting and kicking dirt was hilarious because it was so easy to read the elephant's emotions; he was angry at James for being in his way and having to make his way over the thorny brush. When he kicked the dirt it reminded me of little kids stomping their feet in anger. I don't think intentionally provoking animals is right at all, and James definitely WASN'T doing that! In fact, he was very aware of the ellie's discomfort, and didn't want to start the vehicle and startle him, upsetting him further. That was my take on the situation. See you in chat! 🙂
Jennifer Sherman Absolutely! That's what grown ups do! I see folks on here get so upset because someone disagrees with them. Crazy! That's what makes the world so interesting! Imagine if we were all alike, all had the same thoughts, no differences... dreadful! Glad we're friends! See you you-know-where!😊
+Katherine Uribe Hi, Katherine! I'm very glad we're friends, too! :-) I can't agree with you more. You said it all. I wish more people understood that disagreeing with someone is not a power struggle type situation. I try to remember there is only one person I can change - myself. If, after I've expressed my ideas or points of views another person still doesn't share them I don't view it as a personal failure. I think that many people feel that the other person is more powerful than they are, meaning that they, themselves, are weaker. That's not what having a discussion is about. Sure, there have been times I felt extremely frustrated because I couldn't make someone see things my way. Those are the times I've forgotten that I can't force another person to change anything! Not a nice feeling. I hope this discussion encourages people to view communicating with a new point of view. If not, I'm still very happy because I reinforced the concept which helps make me mature, and, it means a lot to me that you understand because I respect and like you a lot. Thanks! :-) See ya later!
Moist Gnome Thanks! I've met so many wonderful people, like Jennifer, through these safaris! I hope you'll join us one of these days/nights. The animals are incredible, the guides knowledgeable, and the chat vigorous! Take care!😃
Call me crazy.. But do you think, Ellies recognize laughter as mocking or something? I mean, we're just starting to scratch the surface of their intelligence..
Natureforeverbody.... We are way past scratching the surface to understand how AWESOME ELEPHANT'S ARE.... They are EXTREMELY SENSITIVE, INTELLIGENT, FEEL PAIN & MOURN THE LOSS OF THEIR HERD. They will turn around form a circle with their bottoms together to protect their BABIES from harm. We hear their rumbles, different rumbles mean different things. Their demeanor changes when they're irritated, angry or happy... When a female is giving birth, there are always other family members around, to help get little one up, cleaned, have its first drink, and to PROTECT MOTHER AND BABY. IT'S AWESOME TO SEE 🌟♥️🐘🌟♥️🐘🌟♥️🐘🌟♥️🐘🌟♥️🐘
LOL that foot kicking dirt at the truck. "That's for making me step over that prickly bush instead of moving out of my way!"
Anne Haight lol was probably saying "jerk off"! His kick was the elephant version if flipping James the bird!
EXACTLY. ELLE WAS LIKE, WHY COULDN'T YOU HAVE BACKED THAT STUPID TRUCK UP FOR ME, I OWN THIS PATCH OF LAND AND YOU MADE ME INCONVENIENCED JUMPING OVER THAT BUSH INSTEAD OF MOVING. GRRR!

Elephant was forced to alter its course hence the four letter trumpet.

That was the elephant saying "you know I can hear you!".
Elephants are basically gigantic, pouty toddlers.

Had no business laughing at him!* lol
Truly loved that beautiful elephant
Elephant says " if you weren't parked in the middle of the road I wouldn't have to step over that bush!"

I wonder what that IRRITATING SQUEEK sound was; either James' seat or it might have been what I've heard called a "go away bird" sound. Wonderful video absolutely hilarious.

So, elephants realize when a human is laughing at them. Interesting.

He has right of way, not you. You should have moved.
Yikes! That did look juuusssst a little toooo close for comfort. Don't think James was laughing as such. I think James was a slight bit nervous🐾
He'd only move for a 45 year old bull elephant my ass
Surely there has to be a point humans, leave elephants alone!
wtf was that squeak
That's a bird

For Sure he is Smarter than James.
I thought a girl named 'Ellie' wasn't too happy with James. You might want to use appropriate English in your title to not mislead people please.
Ellie is a well known nickname for elephants.

You should give him some space, please be nice to elephants.
