Hi Hilde, Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
Donna! I’m sooo happy you took my suggestion. I just love your work…you are so very creative and talented. I can’t wait for a new video to go up. I am thrilled you did this for me. I was very interested how you would use the glass bead gel. And sooo beautiful, as always. Did you study this in school or are you a learn-as-you go, like I am. I have been buying from decoupagenapkins since I started. They are terrific. I’ve been decoupaging shells for under a year and had my first craft show a few weeks ago. It is
always frustrating to deal with wrinkles. I have never seen anyone tear the rice paper as you did. I’m going to do that from now on!
Thanks again so much!❤❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 P.S. I’m from Kansas City, Missouri.
Hi Nancy, it was a pleasure to do this video for you. I'm thrilled that you liked the shell and glass bead gel. I took some art classes in high school, but that's it. My mom and her brother, my uncle were amazing artists. So it definitely flowed through the bloodline. I am pretty much self taught. I'm always experimenting with different mediums to see what will happen when I do this or that. So you guys get the benefit of my successes and fails...lol... Do your shells do well in the craft fairs? I absolutely hate wrinkles and bubbles too. The tearing works wonders. You can also do that with napkins to make them lay flat. Take care my friend and thanks for always watching 😊💖🤗😘
@@masoncreationsetcHi Donna, I had my first show a week ago. It was very slow, but I managed to make a little over $1,000. I may start an Etsy store as doing the show really killed me physically. I’m 71, in heart and kidney failure and just can’t stand too long. I have over 900 shells in my inventory so I think Etsy is a good way for me to go. I think you’re very talented. My dad, son, and oldest granddaughters are artists. I can’t draw a stick, but I love to paint. You have been such an inspiration. Thanks again. Hope you feel better very soon.❤
Hi Nancy, yes if you have that much inventory Etsy may be a good place for you. They give special preference to shops that offer free shipping. I put everything in the box I'm going to use for shipping, the product, any paper, peanuts and bubble wrap. Weigh it with a small scale and figure out the shipping for New York as that's the farthest away, and that's the shipping amount I add to my sales price. For your sales price, include Etsy's fees all of your costs for material and shipping. Add in something for your labor. Don't be afraid to charge too much. You need to get paid for your time. Also look on Etsy and see what people are selling them for and if they're including free shipping. The craft fairs are too hard. I don't do them. Most are outside and it's wayyyy too hot here. And I'm like you, I'm too old to be standing all day. I can't do it either. Good luck, I hope it works for you. I can't draw either lol..... I'm so happy to be your inspiration! I'm completely better now and plugging away in my studio, making beautiful things 💖😊
@@masoncreationsetc Thanks so much for your advice. I really appreciate it. Looking forward to see what you do next!👏🏻👏🏻❤️

Hi Nancy, Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
I’m confused as to when decoupaging napkins on shells if you recommend using heavy duty wood varnish before napkin then multi surface lacquer on top or if you prefer wax finish varnish flat on surface under napkin then the same in satin on top. Which combo do you use on shells.
Hi Ginny, multi surface lacquer is a primer and should be painted on the shell at the beginning and let dry for at least 2 hours. Then use heavy duty wood varnish in a satin finish as your decoupage glue put under the rice paper and also on top of the rice paper and let dry for several hours. After dry add at least 2 more coats of the heavy duty wood varnish. Get your supplies and watch the video again doing it along with me. You can pause the video when you need to.
Beautiful. Which pearl white is that please? I looked for pentart on decoupage napkins and didn’t see it. Thanks.
Thanks! The pearl paint is one that I got at Hobby Lobby. It's Master's Touch and comes in a tube. The color is pearlized white. It's actually pretty good paint, although my favorite is always Pentart. Thanks for always watching my friend! 😊💖
@@masoncreationsetc Thanks so much! I love how thorough you are in explaining your techniques. 🫶🏻❤️
Thanks, that's really nice to hear. 😊💖
Where is ur description box below that u mention
I just sent you some detailed instructions. Let me know if you find it 😊
It’s me again, Nancy. What white pearl paint did you use on your shell. I can’t find it. Thank you.

Thank you for this project! Mother left a stack of these shells behind when she developed her wings and flew away. I think I will decoupage them and gift them to my sister- she will love em!!
